In tonight's Shakespearian masterpiece, we see that the power of levitation is among the reality-warping powers that Willis has bestowed upon lesbians in his universe!

Truly a benevolent cartoon god.

she didnt seduce her. robin showed up in her house uninvited after their conversation in the bar
>>
>>89697872
Probably. You might be able to use Mixtape.moe if the site still exists.

Also, it's less so the mods and more 4chan's DMCA policy, in that ever since the Fappening the site needs one in order to cover its ass before it can be sued.
>>
>>89697902
Well, she might've seduced her a little before with her hairdo and open blouse before she kicked her out of the class. She laid the groundwork anyway
>>
>>89697902
>>89697980
Dude, the drama is because of her grabbing her hand and telling her what they'd do together in the bar. That's where the picture came from. Robin went to her house because the media was already swarming. This shit is Leslie's fault and her explicit plan from the beginning. She might've had a change of heart, but the damage has already been done with her lesbian wiles.

Is Andrew Hussie a worse cartoonist than Willis?
I mean, with Homestuck you had single panels and the occasional GIF/animation, which obviously took more work on his part. But he also had some cronies to help, raked it a BUNCH of shekels from his fanbase, and had months or even a year at a time to make his updates.

Meanwhile, willis is putting out multiple-panel strips on a daily basis. Most people, I imagine, don't buy any of his stuff because of figures like pic related. And only major autists like me would go to the trouble of buying any or if you're me all books, but he still seems to put out a comic every day. What gives?

>>
>>89698499
Willis has never cared about his work the way Hussie cares about his. DoA is a vague mish-mash of forced quirkiness, watered-down soap opera, and wish-fulfillment fantasy, while Homestuck is a STORY. If nothing else, you've got to give it that.
>>
>>89698566
Oh yeah, I'm not saying that Homestuck is better. It just seems like Hussie woulda been able to get shit done faster, given all the resources he had.

But then, we're not getting a Dumbing of Age videogame/flash game/animation ever, and Willis never hit any real struggles in life. Closest thing would have to be some shitty little kid stealing his favorite Optimus Prime from the Transformers shelf at Wal-Mart

>>
>>89698854
Oh, God, I think I recognize that. That's a Roomies!-era flash from the pre-2000 Internet era, and I think that's Willis himself as Danny with a friend as Joe.
>>
>>89698499
Hussie codified and popularized a unique type of webcomic, explored new grounds in varying artstyles and exploiting the medium of internet storytelling, and (by accident or on purpose) created a fictional race that's perfectly designed for people's shitty OCs. Never mind that behind most of it (let's just ignore Act 6 and 7) was a complex story with a bunch of elements that a less talented artist would have probably lost track of. Hussie may not do the usual shit with panel composition and whatever, but if you start talking about the artistic giants of the webcomic world, then Hussie on a good day can bump elbows with Tom Siddell and Tracy J Butler, if not by sheer quality then by a drive to innovate and experiment.

Willis only achieves any work of notice when he's well into sci-fi mode. The bit with Leslie and Head Alien. A few of the fights in Shortpacked. His plots are generally weak and his writing's even worse. His one and only quality is consistent output, but Schlock Mercenary's been doing that for two or three times as well as he he has, and while SM occasionally skimps on the backgrounds, there's usually good art on the Sunday strips.

This isn't even a competition and I'm baffled as to why you brought it up.

Andrew Hussie played his fanfic ass fanbase, got a shit ton of money off them, and then made comics that poked fun at the retarded fanbase for liking shut about his story that didn't matter. Only thing he's guilty of is his year long break

Willis is a retarded man baby that panders because he doesn't want to be like "those white people" so he'll jump through all sorts of hoops to make his SJW fanbase happy, even though it sacrifices logic and emotional understanding.

Hussie also isn't afraid to kill characters that people like. Willis out right stated that God in his world is out to protect becky's smile.

You tell me whose worst anon...

>>
this is the dumbest comic posted on /co/ why do you guys keep talking about this shit?
>>
>>89699483
As a Homestuck General refugee (plz no deport), I can safely say that Andrew's weaknesses lie in his ability to write for the long-term while reconciling aspects of lore, backstory, and ongoing character arcs and personality traits in a way that ultimately feels satisfying. Just ask around any Homestuck thread that pops up about how Rosemary becoming canon was a bad idea to see, among other examples.

The thing is that Willis has the same kinds of problems, but they manifest in different ways that I don't care to figure out at two in the morning.
>>
>>89697488
>no i wanna live on your couch forever

>>
>>89698624
Hussie cranked out a mind-blowing amount of content, nonstop, for years on end. At it's peak it was updating with 6+ new panels, multiple times in a day, every single day unless he was working on a flash. It seems pretty apparent that he got burned out along the way and became disenchanted with how huge his fanbase was, and how much it had changed. Early MSPA readers tended to be people similar to him, which is why the obtuse humor in Problem Sleuth feels so effortless. As Homestuck made it big, it drew in legions of readers who were younger and more "fandom" type, which he appreciated at first, but there's only so many times a pale awkward man in his thirties can be serenaded by legions of cringey teenagers smeared with grey facepaint at conventions before the magic wears off. Late Homestuck reflects this, as he directly mocks his readers with the Act 6 / Dancestor bullshit, which mostly went over their heads. Honestly I don't think he's been the same since 2012 or so. I hope he's alright.

Also his older works, which are in a more traditional comics style (Whistles, And It Don't Stop, etc), showcase how much talent he has as an artist. If I remember right, one of the reasons he went with the minimal style for MSPA was because he couldn't stand how long it took to do things the old fashioned way.

That wasn't supposed to be a dissertation but I have lots of feelings about Homestuck.

I remember Kris Straub was talking about how he didn't like to buffer his more topical commentary-style work likje Checkerboard Nightmare and chainsawsuit (or maybe this was pre-css), because you want your topical immediate jokes to hit when the iron was hot.

Willis seems to have decided that he will continue to do topical humour while having a buffer, because it's hard to tell jokes outside of pop culture, damn it!

I look forward to a bunch of alternative facts jokes in 3 months. I hope there's a gag order on news media by then so they come off as tasteless.
>>
>>89699005
>by accident or on purpose
Nigga everything about Homestuck, from Sburb to classpects to the trolls was designed to make it easy to create OCs.
>>
>>89703001

We are coming up on exactly 3 months after Election Day, right?

I expect the comic to quickly shift back into sci-fi shenanigans as their US is taken over by an evil dictator and the characters join the Resistance while fighting his evil white Christian minions, led by Prime Templar Mary.
>>
>>89696978
Isn't every edition lesbian edition?
>>
>>89703152
Nah, it's gonna be an election between Dorothy and Roz, since apparently RAs are decided via election.
>>
>>89705169

The more I think of it the more retarded it seems.

If Willy were a real writer he would hype up the "election" and both candidates "running" only for Poo-head to show up and reveal the powers-that-be already decided independent of any of the "platforms" or whatever.
>>
>>89705252
If that happened, knowing Willis, the winner would be a complete third-party who isn't Roz or Dorothy.

But since that doesn't seem to be the case, we're just going to get weak yet blatant analogies for Trump and Hilary.
>>
>>89705353

But who's who?

Roz is supposed to be "the asshole with a good point" and Dorothy is supposed to be... what, "the perfect candidate who has trouble with people" (despite there being NO evidence of such before now).
>>
>>89705396
Like I said, it's going to be weak but blatant.
Roz is going to be Trump because she's being put in an antagonistic role, and Dorothy will be Hilary because that's who Willis voted for.
>>
>>89705424

Mm mm, he's gonna piss some of his readers off with that.

I'm sure many see Roz as the perfect woman. Equating her with Trump... that's gonna be a party.
>>
>>89700123
I was never in the HS generals because they were cancer but have loved hussie since homestuck. What do you mean about Rose?
>>
>>89700649
My most notible moment of him mocking fans was when he did the whole The Felt relationship aspect chart. It was awful and funny at the same time
>>
>>89697530
What can Slipshine even do? They don't own /aco/.
>>
>>89705977
I can't regurgitate the entire explanation, but it involves cutting off any and all potential character evolution between Rose and Kanaya in order to make the two a canon ship. If I had a copypasta, I'd post it.

>>89706057
True, but they can still put in a DMCA to have the material taken down. It's basically an anti-piracy measure.
>>
>>89705396
I think from Willis' perspective any and all hate for Hillary was unfounded, undeserved and came out of nowhere. So maybe that's why Dorothy is being hated on despite not deserving it at all.

I though the whole "CAUCASIAN" incident (and subsequent retcon to "PEACHY" after they missed the joke) was a pivotal moment in his relationship with the fanbase. The Trickster Mode arc in general (A6A5A2, I guess?) was, in my view, the point where he finally turned on the fandom.

It's great that we can have better discussions of Homestuck in /doag/ than we can in the typical "What went wrong" or "How would you fix this" HS threads.

In tonight's tantalizing tale, we start to wonder if Robin actually does have LESBIAN SUPERPOWERS!

Like...exactly the superpowers she had in the last comic that Willis wrote. Seriously. How did she avoid the press, root around in a garden, and break in a window?
>>
>>89723338
What is the intended reaction here?

Are we supposed to like Robin? Hate her? Ignore the double standard of her selfish, clingy behavior being played for laughs? Is the double standard the joke? What level of irony are we on?

Seriously, I have no idea how to respond to Robin these days, and the comments section is getting pretty sick of her too. I wonder if it's going to be something as (relatively) innocuous as this that turns Willis' fanbase against him.

>How did she avoid the press, root around in a garden, and break in a window?
I was about to ask the same thing.

Also, that's a lot of goddamn copying and pasting going on. Was Willis at a convention or something?

Also, I can't figure out the password again. Might be a word not in the actual strip again. Meanwhile, on the front page:
>Welcome To The Fuck Zone #15 is up now, and it features Malaya! Malaya and some unknown penised person, I dunno.
>Next week you get Billie and Ruth.

Peachy.

>>89723467
>>89723484
I think Willis has just given up on having any potential conflict or character progression, and has just had Robin revert back to her Shortpacked personality.
>>
>>89723338
>Snuck back in through a window
>In front of the press

I know she's not terribly smart, but this is actual retarded puppy sort of shit.
>>
>>89723338
>>89723484
Yeah It seems like Willis ditched any characterization. For someone who was supposed to be running for president, she certainly shows a huge lack of focus and cheerful idiocy.
>>
>>89723338
I'm not going to lie, I'm a sucker for jokes like in panel 6.

Leslie's nose dot changes shapes four times in this strip.

>>89723467
I'm not really sure. One could see it as a reflection of Leslie's obsession with Robin being thrown back in her face, but that really doesn't jive with the humorous tone. If everything were presented seriously it'd come off as Robin being desperately lonely. As for his audience getting sick of it, he just has to wait out the strips in his buffer (which more than likely includes the conclusion to this part of the story) then drop the plot point for a couple of months or years.
>>
>>89723338
Jesus. I know people sometimes comment about how Willis is a cruel, fickle god to this world, punishing and rewarding the denizens unjustly.

That's literally all I could think about reading this strip. Leslie doesn't even like Robin, but she has it in her very code design to be Robin's love interest and can't escape her ordained fate.

It fucking sucks, man.
>>
>>89723467
Robin has been completely incomprehensible since she decided to sleep in Leslie's bed, and DoA has been especially terrible when it has been focusing on them.
>>
>>89723338
>"LOCK!"
Willis' insistence on using ironically 'accurate' onomatopoeias really fucking bugs me. Making the noise out to be the actual verb stopped being funny or clever a long time ago.

Panel 6 would be cute if it weren't for Robin's complete lack of any respect for Leslie's boundaries, the whole overly attached stalker vibe, and the whole breaking and entering thing.

In a totally different context, that joke is actually pretty funny.
>>
>>89724003
No, you see it's funny that Robin is trying way too hard to get Leslie without any respect for her wishes, her boundaries and any tresspassing/breaking and entering statutes because they're both women. Also, because they're meant to be together!
>>
>>89723505
>>89723568
The more I think about it, the more I wonder why the press would be there. The pic of them at the bar would have logically been released after they left separately and there would be nothing corroborating the claim that Robin is at Leslie's apartment. The picture of them doesn't show Leslie's face nor does anyone know Robin is at Leslie's apartment, leading to the question of how exact does the press know to be there.

>>89723618
>>89723720
>Look Teach, I mean Leslie, I'm going to level with you. I don't actually want to be here, sitting around your apartment eating cereal. I just...I just feel compelled to do so. No offense, but the young Ellen DeGeneres look isn't really my thing. That look on your face tells me you know what I'm talking about. I'm supposed to be a congresswoman but I don't know my positions or political party. Do you remember your husband's name or what your dad looks like? Please tell me you know what I'm talking about. Do you have the deja vu as well? When I visited my sister I could have sworn I knew everyone who lived on her floor. I was in the elevator with this kid I've never seen before and I knew, not guessed but knew, his name was Mike Warner. Except that I also knew he had a wife named Amber and a kid. It wasn't some delusion, I know some 18 year old living in the dorms isn't going be married with a family, but there it was clawing its way out of the back of my mind. A memory that doesn't exist. Tell me I'm not crazy, Leslie. Please, for the love of god, tell me I'm not crazy.

MAYBE the Robin we see here is a alternate timeline Walkyverse Robin whose Leslie died trying to save her in the final Drama Tag plotline of Shortpacked. Now she's looking for universes without a Head Alien, and with an easily replaceable Robin, so she can seduce Leslie as that universe's Robin and be with her lesbian lover forever.

>Report on the Status of Non-Continuous Knowledge in Earth 4151

>After monitoring by detection equipment and observation by a field team, it has been concluded that the Robin DeSanto of Earth 4151 is not dimensional emigrant, but rather a native who is somehow possessing memories of an alternate counterpart. The how and why has yet to be determined, but Science division theorizes the most likely causes to be pineal gland hyperstimulation, tangential contact between alternate realities within the local multiversal cluster causing non-physical overlap, or a destabilization of implicate order space that affects two realities.
>Due to the nature of the middle option as large scale changes within transdimensional physics that can be naturally occurring, the lack of technological advancement within Earth 4151 to locally induce implicate order disruption, and the lack of evidence of any of the usual methods of inducing pineal hyper-stimulation, it is my profession opinion that based on evidence so far that this is an isolated and probably naturally occurring phenomenon. If non-natural, the source is more than likely originating within another dimension.
>As such, this incident is being classified very-low priority. A monitoring team will continue to observe the subject and watch for any additional non-continuous knowledge or memories to surface in her or others. Department of Observation has been given the relevant data to begin examining known realities to determine if there is an external source of the issue at hand. Potential for non-continuous knowledge causing sociocultural upheaval within local society is minimal (C'mon, it's a Robin; no one listens to what they say half the time and don't believe them the other half).

Leslie's life is terrible in all universes. Her name blatantly labels her as a lesbian, which could easily cause problems. She has a love-hate relationship with Robin that she can't seem to shake. >>89740578

Hooking her up with Alex 2 could ruffle some feathers.

If we're going under the assumption that Leslie's life is supposed to be terrible and that Robin gets away with shenanigans then the correct course of action would as follows:

Leslie loses her job for causing IU's second political scandal in a month and is then shunned by feminist, liberal, and queer groups for perceived support for conservatives.

Robin gets to be the token gay conservative and is put on a pedestal by her local party, securing her position while being able to use her hat trick minority status to hammer at political opponents and escape criticism.

>>89699876

There's this infamous Wonderella comic that argues that we shouldn't focus on serial killers in the wake of mass murders because that'll just encourage other potential serial killers to do it so they'll get on the news and become important for five minutes, even if they're too dead to enjoy it.

That would have been good against Trump during the elections. Keep him out of the official news cycles and the endless Facebook/Twitter feeds and leave mocking him to SNL. Never give him any sense of validity. Of course, now that he's conned his way into office, better to know what he's up to next so you'll know what the minimum safety distance is.
>>
>>89744791
The difference is that there is plenty of evidence showing copycat crimes and direct inspiration for certain types of mass murders and the argument is that the media shouldn't sensationalize the murderer and stick to the facts of the case. What you're suggesting is an honest to god conspiracy by media outlets to sway US elections by manipulating press coverage, even moreso than they actually did during the election.

>>89745123
If Trump was actually treated like a normal candidate, I would have no problem with it. But the majority of news media, from both official outlets and informal ones like Facebook and Twitter, were either spreading outright propaganda about Trump or mocking his myriad gaffes. Even more so than a typical political candidate. At some point, it stopped being informative and started being purely sensational, and then it's not news anymore.

And I'm not promoting conspiracy as I'm promoting prudence. All news outlets have some bias, because when there are infinite stories available and finite money to pay interns to run the Twitter account, you gotta make some choices. I just want a bias against sensationalism. And besides, we spend too much of the election season mocking the other side instead of actually deciding who'll be the best leader anyways.

Jesus Christ, Willis is just rushing through all these plotlines and potential character progressions like he's on a budget of zero dollars.

Like, seriously, we had Walky's plotline about failing math tied up with Dorothy helping him, we have Leslie and Robin's secret affair being cleanly put down, and now we have this, wherein not only is Dorothy's soul-searching about telling Joyce made a moot point with this simple "Do it," but Joyce's own traumas regarding the events are made irrelevant.

Like >>89749580 says, it's as if we missed a few strips. Imagine if this were a movie and we just jump-cut from Joyce in the hall going to class to this scene.

>Surely Willis wouldn't leave the emotionally powerful moment where Dorothy asks Joyce if she's willing to identify her rapist OFF-PANEL, right?

Oh you sweet summer child.

Seriously though, not only did he skip over Dorothy telling Joyce, he also skipped her figuring out how to break it to Joyce, Dorothy telling Amazi-Girl that she was for sure going to tell her, Amazi-Girl revealing that Sal helped her, Sal agreeing to be there and finally, them all discussing if Dorothy's plan to tell her is right. And that's ignoring discussing the merits of posting his name/picture on-line in general, which I'm not so sure will be helpful.

Also, I feel like the new and improved "lets make everything better" Sarah would want to be there, too. I guess she's probably too busy with class to help Joyce with this whole rape thing that she's been supporting her about.

I'm at least happy that Joyce has finally agreed to do something about this instead of trying to pretend it didn't happen. Even if the something is hella weak.
>>
>>89749483
Jesus fuck willy, where'd the intervening dozen strips just go?
>>
>>89749929
After overhearing Dorothy and Amazi-Girl talk about how Joyce's assailant worked for the DeSanto campaign, Sarah checked out the campaign Facebook page, discovered Ryan's identity, spent fifteen minutes combing through his social media accounts, lured him to a disused restroom in an outlying campus building through Tinder, and mercilessly beat him until he was choking on teeth fragments. She then dropped a few of Raidah's hairs at the scene, returned to the dorm, and asked Dina to call Amber a weak-ass bitch before heading to class.
>>
>>89749929
>>89750070
Honestly, when you think about it, this strip is probably Willis' way of handing off Joyce's storyline to the other three. "I'm okay with being a victim and not taking charge of my own conflicts and complications. You three can do all the actual work; I'll just sit here and watch the walls."

If I had the image, I'd post it, but there's a collage of posts from somebody who worked on the TGWTG movie "Kickassia" who played a drinking game in which you take a shot for every scene with a person who is standing in the background with their arms crossed. >They explained it's the ultimate actor's crutch when they don't have anything to actually do in the scene.
Even as someone who hates the TGWTG crew, that just comes off as stupid. It's a common pose people take, acting or not.
>>
>>89764490
>It's a common pose people take, acting or not.
Maybe, but I think it's more that it's such a common and easy pose to take that it becomes a first resort, rather than exploring the scenery around you in a way that silently expands upon your character.

For example, Sal could be checking out whatever's on the board on the wall over to her right, not exactly involved in the conversation but at least listening. If you have to have her crossing her arms like a bad "ass", she could be leaning by a door frame in the back of the room, again distant from the others but still offering to help.

Or something like that. If anything, people standing around with their arms crossed is a sign of bad blocking on part of the director. In this case, Willis is a bad director.
>>
>>89751159
I was under the impression that Roz released the sex tape to purposefully make Robin look bad. I mean, a family-values candidate's little sister posting homemade amateur porn on the internet isn't very family-friendly at all.
>>
>>89764646
It's about "effectively doing nothing." The job of an actor in the background is to look and act like real people without drawing attention away from whatever the audience is supposed to be looking at.

You can lowkey mime a conversation with another background character or flip through a book or act like you're taking notes or do any of the other stuff you mentioned here.

There are a lot of things that a person in the background can do. And instead of looking like they're interacting with Joyce during this pivotal moment, they're just freakin' statues.
>>
>>89764291
>Also, I just noticed how Sal and Amber are just standing there with their arms crossed.
The crossed arm posture just makes me think of them as Dorothy's hired muscle for dealing with this problem. And honestly it's not too far off.

It also makes me want to make an edit where they are thugs for the purpose of breaking Dorothy's kneecaps, but I'm far too lazy, and don't think it'll turn out that good.

>>
>>89766818
The stated goal is to make other people aware, which doesn't solve the issue you bring up. Even making a Mattress Performance comparison, Sulkowicz waited until after her alleged rapist was cleared by the university and the police before she started her project.
>>
>>89767802
Yeah but everyone thinks she's a bitch, and a lawsuit or two were still filed.
There's also no remaining evidence Ryan ever did anything wrong, so instead of warning other people, it could just backfire and come across as Dorothy slandering someone. All Ryan has to do is lay off the raping, and people will think Dorothy is full of shit.

Although that's a good plan, so I'm sure it has no place in this comic.

>>
>>89776042
>do you hate that we know his name now? It humanizes him a non-zero amount

I'd say humanizing horrible people is the healthiest thing to do. The concept of viewing bad people as "monsters" is the reason why it's so easy for people to take advantage of you. Because you'd never think that nice sweet boy would rape you.

I'm willing to bet at least 80% of human rape is performed by humans.

That's the point though. We DO know it happened in this case. As a bonus, we can see the bungled efforts of Joyce and her friends to forestall the evidence getting to the proper authorities. Misstep by misstep.

This is not a cautionary tale. this is not a guide on how rape victims should act.

Willis's goal here is that he wants us to extrapolate this story to all other unsubstantiated rape claims we hear from now on. He wants you to see some Facebook post from a girl saying she was raped six months ago by her ex, and immediately lynch the man accused. Innocent until proven guilty? Pssshhh. Social Justice will decide that.
>>
>>89778350
Right. Legally, this whole thing is a baseless smear campaign with no proof at all. A halfway competent lawyer could probably build a case that Joyce was drinking alcohol and turned violent against Ryan for no reason.
>>
>>89778997
It would be nice to get a little support as someone who was threatened with rape, but I'm not so sure that this is the right way to do this.

I was threatened by someone a lot of my friends were also friends with. They were, for the most part, pretty dismissive. It felt like no one was going to stand up for me. At least, no one did so while I was in the same room.

I just wanted to talk to my friends and let them know that something upsetting had happened so they could maybe talk to the guy and let him know that, yes, he was being a total jerk.

But I got left in the dust.

And this still isn't the way. I got very vocal about my issue for a little while. But I can't imagine plastering my would-be rapist's face everywhere and expecting everyone to do something about it.

I wasn't going to call the police, but someone who was worried about me did so. There wasn't enough evidence to go further with it, so I didn't decide to take the law into my own hands.

Defamation, whether it's truth or not, is not the way.

>THEY'RE FRIENDS NOW!
I really can't stand this aspect, their issues dissolved in the most dissatisfying way. I mean, literally, Amazi-Girl revealed that the issues are not hers but Amber's, but since then, we haven't even seen Amber think about Sal at all. Functionally, their beef is entirely squashed.

Just some incidental racism is enough to make her realize that her personal crusade is similar enough to be wrong? It's fucking insulting. And I think AG was wrong to be stalking Sal, to be clear. I just don't think solving it by showing how racist some people think it is was a good conclusion in the slightest. It would be like if Ryan started displaying mental illness, AG caught up to him, and there were some people chanting "yeah club that retard" and she gave up. (And in that case she would also be wrong to want to just beat up Ryan when they need to go to the police, as much as that ship may have sailed by now, but my point is it would be unsatisfying and no one would appreciate that ending)

Also, it's kinda ironic Amazi-Girl is talking about hating humanizing her prey, when that kind of thinking kept her chasing Sal for so long.

Also, Also, it's really dumb to do this before getting his full name from Robin's campaign. If they have his back at all, they'll become more closed off after this. And fuck, I just remembered that Leslie is supposed to be getting that information too [image related]. Can no one stay on track without getting derailed by petty drama for 5 seconds in this strip?

I checked the comments on this strip, something I haven't done in a long time, and noticed most of the fans are pretty anti Robin.

I'm not sure if Willis thought it was cute and will now have to pivot or if he's genuinely setting up Robin as a horrible sociopath, but I bet it won't end well now.

And it wouldn't be the first time Robin was treated accurately for her shitty behaviour. Amber basically ended up hating her because of how she treated her, and was way closer friends with Leslie by the time they got kicked out of their shared house. With Robin also having The Wrongthinkâ„¢ I'd be even more willing to bet that she'll be vilified, even though I think he really likes Robin as a character. At the very least he's not afraid to have her be shitty and experience repercussions from that shittiness, so she's a decent pet character to have.

Batman would beat him up, but also find enough evidence, if necessary, to have him convicted or committed to arkham.

If this was all about figuring out who exactly he is so they can go to the cops even with an old claim, I'd honestly be way more into it, than beating him up and making social media claims. They could even sneak into his home when he's out and look for the drugs. Maybe plant a set in his jacket so that he ends up getting arrested with it on him.

Due to Willis' belief in how DID works, it now means that Amber still hates Sal when she's not in costume.

Also there is zero reason as to why Robin's campaign would have Ryan's back, if anything they'd drop him immediately. Though rereading this made me realize that Dorothy's plan was to publicly ask Robin for Ryan's personal information which would mean at the very least a direct line for Ryan to follow and at the most publicly accusing of him of attempted rape.
>>

>>
>>89793596
Nah, out of his major rogues, Catwoman, Penguin, Zsasz, and Bane go to Blackgate. Plus Killer Croc, Mr. Freeze, and Clayface are only in Arkham because of special needs while incarcerated.

Rapin' Ryan is definitely c-list Bat-villain tier, but under a good writer could probably be bumped up to Batman's "weird gangster" rogues.

This is what's going to happen

>Amber is going to be doing her rounds
>Suddenly she sees him!
>She attacks but he knew she'd be coming!
>And he brought backup!
>After the last encounter, he went online and recruited the most evil, hateful, disgusting, inhuman people he could find...
>On the dreaded hacker site 4CHAN
>A dozen white men wearing Guy Fawkes masks and wielding katanas step out of the bushes!
>Amber fights the good fight but is overwhelmed!
>Rapeface lifts his katana high and utters a semi-witty putdown...
>Suddenly Sal!
>And the Roller Derby Team!
>And Carla!
>And Billy, driving a car that isn't hers and wasted out of her mind!
>And Joyce with her special Megaton Punch!
>And Sarah with her vibrator
>And Dina, riding a T-Rex!
>And Becky with a megaphone!
>Epic battle commences!
>Students watch and cheer from the sidelines and windows!
>Campus security stands back in awe! These girls don't need no men!

And then I stop reading, my happy assumption being that Rapeface wins the fight and plays out the old hentai trope of "a girl who's raped good enough will enjoy it and become your loyal slut" on his opponents.
>>

i think you're forgetting about something important: do you really think Willis has ever heard of Blackgate? i can't recall it ever coming up in BTAS or any of the movies, he doesn't play games, and i'm pretty sure he doesn't read comics without any mechanical beings with the ability to alter their forms so he probably thinks all Batman villains go to Arkham.

Not in Willis world.

>Due to Willis' belief in how DID works, it now means that Amber still hates Sal when she's not in costume.
This is how things should work, but the fact that it hasn't come up yet makes me think he has completely dropped the antagonism. I'd be happy to be wrong, although I don't expect it'll be satisfying either way.

Also, since they teamed up there was that one time Amber saw Walky and smiled, when before seeing him (as Amazi-Girl, mind you) "project[ed] the word "danger" on the back of [her] mind." I dunno if that was Willis subtly showing that Amber is also fine with Sal or if that was unrelated. It was very much out of nowhere and hasn't been addressed since.

In general, that's my issue. everything moves so slowly, and storylines appear so infrequently, that I don't know whether something has been dropped or just quietly moved to the backburner for a bit.
>>
>>89794534
I feel like the Amber/Amazi-Girl dichotomy would work better if it stayed as Amber portraying a character as Amazi-Girl, and not outright falling into a separate personality.
>>
>>89787159
Corroboration from the parents probably helped.

Rape is a tricky crime to convict for a lot of the time, because unless it's done on camera or something, it ends up being "who is more believable"
Which is why it has such a low conviction rate- the law usually prefers to not send innocent people to prison, most innocent people in prison took a plea because they couldn't afford a good criminal attorney.

there's two timelines

http://www.ci-n.com/~jcampbel/doatimeline.html
according to this timeline the Almost-Rapening happened about a month ago

http://walkypedia.wikia.com/wiki/Dumbing_of_Age_Timeline
while this one says it was slightly less at 24 days

of course i might have miscounted days, seeing as i haven't slept in 2 days
>>
>>89795976
but that has to be proven be true. the only evidence left of the incident is the scar and that only says that Joyce cut his faces, not that he tried to rape anyone.
>>
>>89796187
>the only evidence left of the incident is the scar

Urine tests can detect metabolites of roofie as far as 28 days after ingestion, and hair samples for even longer term. And what if someone saved the glass?

So, Ryan, what now?
>>
>>89796072
The first timeline puts the Rapening at 32 days prior, while the latter puts it at 34.

I may have counted wrong as well. Regardless, I see that the latter also has dates, which only shows how little research Willis put into the setting by having school at IU begin a week after most universities begin classes in reality.

>>89796465
Well, as we've seen, it's just over 28 days regardless of whatever calendar you use. Hair might work, though. No word on if the glass was saved or trashed.

I still find it hard to believe that for all of the people at the party, nobody did anything.

That's also part of it. A brief timeline of events:
>is glassed and bleeding from the face
>is hit square across the back of his head with a baseball bat
>is clocked again across the skull with the same bat
>is carpet-stomped by an angry skinny black woman

And yet despite these injuries that would have otherwise killed him, if not leaving him with cranial damage, he managed to sneak away from a crowded room, where a crowd had formed around the scene in question and dozens of witnesses would have been present.
>>
>>89796465
well ya got me there, but consider this: Willis is a hack and the hackiest thing i can think of is:
>photo goes up
>Ryan sues Joyce (her suffering is the most DRAMATIC) for libel and assault
>there's no proof left of the drugging
>all the male background characters (and Mary) corroborate Ryan's side of the story (all women who were there are silenced by the PATRIARCHY)
>poorly written DRAMA
>poorly written COURTROOM DRAMA
>this continues for two months
>Sal or Amazi-Girl (probably Sal) finds some of Ryan's previous victims to corroborate Joyce's side and save her
>the end, Ryan goes to Arkham, Joyce DRAMATICALLY takes off her wrist brace, and we learn a valuable lesson about Listen And Believing (that's still a thing right?)
also there's a terrible tension eroding "joke" in the last panel of every strip during the whole saga
>>
>>89797280
>Sal or Amazi-Girl (probably Sal) finds some of Ryan's previous victims to corroborate Joyce's side and save her
God, I can just imagine Willis pulling out absolutely random people who never existed prior to this hypothetical story and who would never be referenced again afterwards.
>>
>>89797339
It would be great if they appeared fully on screen in focus, but still looked like blurry background characters.
>>
>>89797280
I'm retching. Violently.
>>
>>89796465
All that proves is that Joyce was roofied, not that Ryan did it. Without evidence that Ryan possessed roofies any lawyer worth a damn is going to argue that anyone at the party could have drugged her. Another massive problem is that not only will Joyce not reporting it be used against her, but also Joyce and Sarah attacking Ryan. That's not even getting into the fact that Dorothy and Amazi-Girl's presence at the party, plus the appearance of Dorothy's boyfriend's sister at the rally where Amazi-Girl admitted to a smear campaign before getting into a physical altercation with Ryan (and also the fact that the security staff who refused to intervene included Sal's best friend), directly points to a conspiracy against Ryan. Basically, without a police report and tox screen, and the only two primary witnesses being faulty, the best they could do realistically would be to get Ryan expelled from school, since most university's only require a lower standard of proof for sexual assault charges, while leaving themselves open to a civil suit.
>>
>>89797280

it's a difficult concept for people to get their head around: the criminal justice system isn't as much about punishing criminals as protecting the accused. it's one of the founding precepts that the court of popular opinion usually wants a conviction, which is why there are so many hoops prosecution has to jump through and technicalities that can let an improperly prosecuted person off the hook.

It is for the best if you don't look too closely at Willis' noses.

So basically like a lot of Christians who are only faithful when life is doing good for them.

Otherwise, things are going bad either because they didn't pray hard enough, thought the wrong thought, or there's a secular socialist conspiracy out to get them.

I want Dorothy to highlighter my body for further studying.

It is only to be expected since Willis has twin children.

Fair, but there IS a frame. And it's the frame that Joyce should be standing on.

>>89802658
It's the Joyce Cycle:
>I love God!
>something bad happens in her life
>I don't trust God!
>something good happens in her life
>I love God!
And repeat infinitely.

Come to think of it, she should have asked for a name first BEFORE explaining what she was planning to do.

I almost feel as if Willis has stopped caring.

>Big Guy
you all still think Willis doesn't come here?

You all still think he doesn't start the threads himself?

It's not god she has distrusted, it's the religious people in her life.

Joyce doesn't have crows feet. Those are the strands of hair that hang off of her ears.
>>89800979
Ok, I'll admit this is pretty cute, which can make up for how unfunny it is.

4th panel alternate timeline:
>ryan doesn't know what she's talking about
>between the bat to the head and the alcohol, he has no memory of the night
>was in a coma for a week
>personality changes
>loses all his friends, because he's now a boring straight-edge guy
>dorothy and company befriend him undercover to be sure
>moral dilemma between ruining a guy who doesn't know he did anything wrong, or letting a potential rapist go free
>another potential moral dilemma when he makes friends with the group, but joyce can't possibly be stand him
There's no moral grey area in this comic though, so he would never do that.

I think it's archaic, but I can't find any other examples of it.

Which, to me, seems pretty weird for a "hair pulled behind ears" hairstyle like she has. I looked up pics, but most of them are glamour shots of popular actors where it's really well done. I just think the hair would be more likely to go over the ear straight down and back than just poke out with a few short ones like that.

I've noticed it's something a lot of anime do.

Well, her hair defies physics anyway. How does it have that massive dip in it? Hair does not work like that.
