>Plus4chan thread
http://boards.plus4chan.net/coc/t52034.html
>>
OK, all the stuff from last thread is updated to the doc.

I had to revert the doc back to the last time I edited it last month before updating it because I noticed some subtle vandalism.

And I have my up-to-date offline copy, so I don't need to worry about any of that again until it needs to be updated again.

So now we're entering the second leg of the race.

What kind of weird shit needs to happen in the desert?
>>
>>89693410
Let's see:
-Loki hiring Punisher
-some racers encountering Ghost Rider
-Sam and Max DeSoto breaking in the middle of the desert
-Yellowjacket goes searching for water and starts developing his Style
-A brief fight with Loki while Yellowjacket is away
-Pym and Hex clashes with Punisher

That's what is currently in the doc
>>
>>89693847
Need to remember to introduce Big Skeleton as Loki's minion who hands him the phone to call in Punisher.

Beeper is also some sort of race corespondent who is running with the racers to conduct in-race interviews or something.
>>
>Not using our own Original Content
Where are our artists? Are there any left?
>>
>>89694293
Can't find any for the current arc
>>
>>89694293
It's been a few threads.

Right now I'm pretty sure we're at a point where we're just stubbornly committed to finishing this project no matter how stupid we look doing it.
>>
The first part should be the racers gathering in the starting line and Nobody announcing the next checkpoint, is also the part where Hex and Pym reappear.

>>89693957
So, who should be filmed by Beeper during the race?
>>
>>89695484
So,
-racers gather, the next checkpoint and time limit is announced
-cut to Loki getting his phone from Big Skeleton and calling up someone (Punisher) to dare them to take the challenge
-racers race off out of California and into the desert, Beeper interviews some of them?
-Sam and Max break down, Jack goes to get water
-Sam and Max fight(?) Loki? Does he try to convince them to join his cause in exchange for turning them back?
-Hex and Pym go after Shocker, Frank Franks Hex out of his Frank and Shocker gets away again
-Pacing lessons
-Jack gets back by dark and is covered in bees

Anything else happen?
>>
>>89695764
Beeper could be recording some of the racers as they start fighting each other and interview those who got retired, annoying them in the process.
I think Loki would be mad at them for mocking him and making him crawl through the sewers during his escape.
>>
>>89696488
I doubt it'd be racers who get retired since as long as they are still alive, haven't violated the rules, and there's still time on the clock, they still have a chance at making it to the checkpoint.
>>
Alright, it's on someone else now to keep the thread alive.

We might need some more desert hi-jinks before this next part is fulled plotted out.
>>
>>89699453
Is there any racer that need to be fleshed out?
>>
>>89698471
If a racers gets his car wrecked and isn't picked up by another racer then it will be in the same position as Dan after crashing his car.
>>
>>89700685
Probably. Just pick one from the list on the doc that we haven't done anything with yet.

>>89704123
Still not the same as being retired from the race, Dan was only out after the time limit was up.
>>
>>89704705
Tempo is the first that comes to mind, after her there are other minor racers that haven't appeared yet.
>>
>>89705541
We still need to also determine who will place where at the Aberdale checkpoint.
>>
>>89705665
Sam, Max, Jack, Hex and Pym are probably going to fall behind in the leaderboard due to the incidents in the desert, should Spongebob keep his winning streak?
>>
>>89706363
Possibly.

How do Wander and Sylvia place? I assume no one gets sabotaged at the starting line for this leg of the race, so they don't fall behind at the start.

Rex and Navis are also contenders.
>>
>>89706947
Dick is probably going to set traps on the finish line or antagonize the racers on their way to the checkpoint
>>
>>89707794
Right now it looks like the focus won't be on the racers as they finish that leg of the race since it's on Clarence's group setting up the monster of the plot.
>>
Remind me again, Chameleon is racing as himself or under a disguise?
>>
>>89711392
He's racing with a face that isn't his own.
It's why he isn't recognized as a racer when he's captured in CN City.

He might've entered under his name though.
>>
Oh dammit, page 10 bump.
>>
Punisher's attack probably takes out some background racers along with allowing Shocker to get ahead of Pym and Hex.

Spongebob end up among the first five again, which makes him a target for the other racers (his disappearance during the third half of the stage doesn't surprise anyone).

Goofy still can use his Stand to shorten distances, while Wander probably stays behind helping the racers that get stuck in the desert.
>>
>>89714462
Unless the racers are criminals, the Punisher wouldn't go for them.

Goofy's stand can only activate when there's a gap, like a canyon or a river, or even rip in clothing, so he can't just THE HAND his way to the finish line.
>>
Alright, time to start painting a picture in my mind.

So, we have a city and in the backdrop construction of a new bridge has already started.
Racers are lined up.

Does Mr. Nobody have a stage or is there just a huge TV on the blimp?

They're still waiting for the next checkpoint to be announced, there's chatter in the crowd. I assume Beeper is running around conducting interviews already to see how the racers are feeling after making it through the first leg.

Need to have that scene with Hex pointing over to Sam and Max to prove his point to Pym about last night.

Hmm, need some bullshit for Mr. Nobody to say and some weird trinket for misdirection or lead in for announcing Aberdale.

Racers take off, cut to Loki?

That'd be the first sequence.
>>

hqdefault.jpg
47KB, 859x351px
SO WHO WINS?
>>
>>89714919
But his ability (whatever it is) causes his surroundings to behave like an action movie, so even two cars crashing is enough for a Michael Bay-level explosion. Goofy's Stand doesn't seem to be limited to the presence of a gap, as shown in his fight with with Spongebob.
>>
>>89717105
Yeah, but the Punisher chooses his targets and only blows up anyone who gets in his way.

Pym and Hex got in his way (or he got in their way) so they got caught up in his pacing until Pym accidentally disrupted it.
>>
>>89716410
>Does Mr. Nobody have a stage or is there just a huge TV on the blimp?
A TV screen just to change things a bit, Nobody and his men are probably moving too. The airship with a screen should be a gimmick of Tulio.
>>
>>89718510
OK, so he has a bus that turns into a stage.
>>
>>89718608
Well, his bus was supposed to turn into a blimp (or deploy a blimp, i forgot) so turning into a stage also works
>>
>>89718962
So his bus is a stage, then deploys a blimp just as he announces the next checkpoint and racers speed by under him.
>>
So anyone else in particular you think should get some spotlight for this next leg?
>>

Gyro-Evac.jpg
179KB, 648x504px
>>89720266
Like that zeppelin in atlantis?

>>89722055
Is Crazy Jane and Robotman going to get the spotlight in a later section?
>>
>>89722086
During the European stage, I think Aunt May blows up Robotman and Crazy Jane continues on while carrying his head until they get to the robot town where she leaves him to get repairs.

Without Cliff around, Jane gets more and more unhinged until she kills Aunt May in Rio and takes her place in the Dada Party.
>>
>>89723392
Yeah, they are attacked by Aunt May on their way to the Old Country, should they have an introduction before the european stage? Besides them, who else is slated to be explored in a later stage?
>>
>>89723646
The train guy and the Jojo rip off comic guy are also both slated for later importance. I suppose they should also cameo in the desert.

I made a note in the doc since having them killed by Tulio later might work.

Gotta make sure at least some of Tulio's victims are racers we've been introduced to prior.
I'm not sure how much he thins the herd, I know Wander saves a bunch of the racers he captures.
>>
>>89723948
The racers that end up forming the crew of the train should appear at some point before the european stage, showing how their vehicles are destroyed. I think the owner of the train should remain hidden to not spoil the return of all those racers.

Does Rex has any important role before being zapped by Melusine?
>>
>>89724487
Rex is a contender, he places pretty well and doesn't seem to get involved with any side plots so far.

He either places first, second, or third (if there's a twist) at the Paris Checkpoint.
Not sure how he places at the other checkpoints.

Other than that, he never really has a focal role.

I think Cybersix should place first at the robot town checkpoint.
One of the twists is that Mr. Nobody announces the checkpoint and that it is in the Old Country, but tells the racers they'll have to find it themselves. Cybersix gets there first since she already knew exactly where it is and didn't have to waste time trying to find it.
>>
Well here's a bump before bed.
>>
>>89724628
Cybersix is gonna be the one that reaches first place in that stage, her status as an atomic superwoman is also revealed during that arc. She will also appear in the big clash before CN City, having a duel with Navis.
>>
>>89718159
I think that is Hex the one that disrupts Punisher's pacing since Pym hasn't learned about it.
>>
Hey. Do not die on me.
>>
File: enemy stand.png (257KB, 224x414px) Image search: [Google]
enemy stand.png
257KB, 224x414px
Since Thomas Diesel ends up imitating other people, at some point someone should notice that he always ties with another racer and said racer disappears shortly after.
>>
>>89728903
There are no ties.
>>
>>89725625
That clash is still some weeks away at the rate we're going.

>>89725912
So Hex disrupts it, Punisher goes after them for a bit, Pym accidentally disrupts it after Punisher leaves and Hex explains disruptions to him.
>>
>>89731123
I think Pym doing a disruption by accident is when they inspect the knife-shooting gun in Aberdale
>>
>>89731310
I thought they inspected that while still in the desert.

Though I guess Hex teaching Pym about disruptions could go either on the way there or when they're already there,
>>
So what are Hex and Pym doing while in Aberdale?
>>
How does Pym try to rationalize tree zombies?
>>
>>89735833
Is he going to try rationalizing everything, including Stands, with science like Dr Membrane and the psychologist duck did in part 6?

Maybe he thinks the tree zombies are actually some kind of supervillain frankestein minions or something. Alternatively, he might end up asking Hex if the monsters are those so called "enemy Stands".
>>
>>89733834
Pym is probably continuing his experiments with the capsule, while Hex keeps an eye on Shocker.
>>
>>89736419
Do you think he should? That might be key to him understanding disruptions and countering them.

At what point does Pym first hear about stands?

>>89736473
Even when The Beast's minions begin attacking?
>>
>>89737447
>Even when The Beast's minions begin attacking?
I don't think so, once the plant monsters swarm the town he probably joins the defenders, though it seems that there are two groups: one that goes to the Beast's lair and the other that defends the town.
>>

Page 10 bump.

This next section is going slow because I've gotten sick.
>>
Who was going to be the Style teacher that Yellowjacket contacts in Aberdale?
>>
>>89742034
Wasn't decided.

Rick Dicker from The Incredible was suggested since he was in part 6 (in a very minor role) and also part of the Strickland old guard.
>>
>>89742517
Alright, should that meeting take place before or after the outbreak of plant monsters?
>>
>>89743112
After, during the clean up, when Josh is getting hauled off by Strickland.

That's the best place I can think to place it.
>>
>>89724628
>arc is called "In the arms of iron"
>Nobody uses that line as a hint of the checkpoint's location
>the entrance of the town is made with the Iron Giant's arms
>>
>>89746177
It's actually meant to be an in-joke on how no one really knows exactly where the Old Country is in Europe.

And the robot town isn't actually on any maps yet.

But that is a good suggestion.
>>
>>89732075
How much should Pym know about Pacing at this point? Before arriving to San Fransokyo, he was still trying to read the narrative.
>>
>>89748376
While in the desert I guess Hex challenges him to predict what will happen next and Pym begins to see the patterns.
>>
>>89748762
So Pym already has a basic knowledge of Pacing when they face Shocker in Nowhere; he attempts a disruption against Shocker to no avail, and is during the fight in CN City when he properly uses the Pacing for the first time.

We still have to define how the abilities of both Hex and Pym grow during the rest of their journey.
>>
>>89749629
Make some suggestions. I'm kind of bad in the think department right now.

I've mostly just been pulling stuff out of my ass as the need comes along and working it in a way where it just works with what we already have.

Like pouring water to find gaps and filling them.

With Pym I think he causes disruptions by pointing how how bullshit some stuff is and making the world conform to how he believes it should work.
>>
Bump before bed.
>>
Checking the doc again, Navis starts having a role from Aberdale onwards, should she appear earlier in the desert crossing?

>>89749764
I thought he was just going to slow down the rhythm of Watt's robot.
>>
>>89755387
Navis has been cameoing in the background for some time now. Since registration.

She might clash with some other racers in the desert crossing and while in Aberdale the Strickland team who fixes her vehicles could give her some grief over the damage.
>>
>>89737447
>at what point does Pym first hear about stands?
Maybe from a nearby Stand battle or from another character using weird powers next to Pym and Hex. Then Hex mentions Stands and Pym asks about it. We should probably have this happen in the first encounter they have with Stand users.
>>
>>89756364
>We should probably have this happen in the first encounter they have with Stand users
Which is against Shocker, right? the reference to Backslide in CN City should be removed since they never faced him.
>>
>>89756364
So when Shocker gets away again Hex can speculate on Shocker having a stand.
>>
>>89756446
If there's any mention of what happened at the first checkpoint, it should be Pym wondering if the commotion caused that night was due to a stand battle.
>>
>>89758567
Does Pym know what is a Stand at that point? Hex seems to have faced that kind of stuff before.
>>
>>89759318
At which point?

Pym doesn't start really believing in stands until he's fighting a giant ant he enlarged on accident.
>>
So, what should Loki say over the phone to get Frank into action?

Frank hates Loki, but Loki still somehow got him to move in a way that is beneficial to Loki.
>>
>>89762496
He may tell Frank that Nobody is connected with several criminals (the Frontmen, Karnage and, formerly, Tulio)
>>
>>89763650
It needs to be something to set off his EDGE so he has to go after the racers.
>>
>>89765270
Well, he is also handing over clemency to anyone that participates in the race, including criminals.
>>
>>89765679
If any criminals who entered the race actually finish the whole race, I think that clemency would be permanent until they commit a new crime.

It also excuses any crimes the racers who aren't criminals committed to progress in the race.
>>
>>89765756
Loki could tell Punisher that the race is a facade to exonerate all those criminals.
>>
>>89767665
How does he word it in the form of a dare though?
The criminals being exonerated wouldn't matter to Frank, he'd still go after them anyway.

Like "if you don't think you're up to it" or "you're getting soft, letting criminals go".
>>
>>89768694
Add the fact that the racers are supposed to be untouchable during their stay in the checkpoints and the authorities are instructed to uphold Nobody's clemency.
>>
>>89769032
So why isn't Punisher attacking while they are in Aberdale?
Or in Nowhere for that matter?

Did he gets wind of something more heinous?
>>
>>89769656
Good question, he's probably franking background racers somewhere else, Punisher also ends up in Springfield and franks the circus' ringleader.
>>

What's some stuff Beeper/whoever can ask the racers before the next checkpoint is announced?
>>
>>89771851
-what are their impressions after the first leg of the race?
-are they ready to keep going for who knows how many kilometers more?
-what they think about the current leaderboard?

While in this state, the sleep paralysis that usually keeps people from acting out their dreams while asleep vanishes, and Sleepwalk can exert a medium amount of control over the sleeping person. The contents of the dream cannot be changed, however, so if something happens in the dream that puts the sleeper in enough emotion, they will take back control for a time and act of their own will.
>>
>>89791119
Not sure how we can practically use it with the position Doctor Destiny is now in.

Dram invasion could be good for spotting cheaters, but I feel we've done that before in part 5.

>I feel we've done that before in part 5
Yeah, with Gideon's Stand and Bill Cipher, Mortos also had a similar ability.
>>
>>89791929
So we need to revise this?

Maybe something with radio waves that influence people while they dream?
>>
>>89792137
Could also allow him to broadcast what's going on on the target's mind.
>>
>>89792337
We need to come up with a practical usage for it.

Mr. Nobody wouldn't be the one to enforce the rules unless he felt like it, so Doctor Destiny is our rules lawyer.
>>
>>89793855
Maybe is thanks to his Stand that the Dada party can keep track of certain racers and relay information among his members.
>>
>>89794822
Maybe.

Anyway, back to the writing. Currently working off of >>89773216 with Serenity asking racers questions. I figure she'll ask one of the questions and we'll see responses from multiple characters answering it before the next question is asked.

Which characters should she be questioning? I've got ideas for the first question for The Beatles and Rex so far, but anyone in particular we need to put some attention on?
>>
>>89795079
Which one hasn't had a speaking role until now? Should Cybersix and the Wizard be interviewed before the european stage?
>>
>>89795301
I kind of want to have Kovacs (Rorschach) interviewed, but I don't know if he'd actually go for it.

Maybe Haddock too? Or maybe have him interviewed during the race with whoever asking him his impressions as a sea captain on racing through a desert.

I just need more input in general for this part since there is not much to work with.
>>
>>89795499
Rorschach probably walks away from the interview just like Hex in Hill Valley.
>>
>>89796349
So he just makes no comment before walking off?

Who else is going to have grater relevance soon?
>>
>>89799662
Navis, Haddock, Spongebob could have some participation before biting the dust; Yellowjacket has enough coverage for now, same with Wander.

So he just makes no comment before walking off?
He might just ignore her, since he is submerged in his thoughts.
>>
>>89800174
Well the only one biting the dust any time soon is Spongebob.

Maybe she asks Sam and Max why they got a sex change? I feel like someone would give them some grief over that.
>>
>>89800417
>oh...so you are one of those people that feel that are born in a...
>stop right there lady, before you regret talking to us
>>
>>89801849
>"Max, now that you're a woman, I fear for your self image."
>"Why's that? You think I'm ugly or something?! GOD MADE ME LIKE THIS!"
>"No, its just that you don't like girls."
>"Well, now I just don't like other girls. Like, you know, other girls."

I have no idea if that would work or not in this context.
>>
These antibiotics are making me ill in different ways, so not much progress today.

>>
Is Vince still going to be with Sam and Max after Aberdale or he rides with someone else before meeting Jack?
>>
>>89801885
They could be ranting that before getting interviewed
>>
>>89804945
Right now, he's with them until Nowhere. Not sure of the details of why exactly they part ways there.
Maybe they leave Jack there because shit's about to get super dangerous as they head to Springfield.

Sam and Max might get a phone call at some point and that's why they go to Springfield, some other racers follow them thinking it's a shorter route.
>>
>>89808188
Or there is a point when their female selves become unbearable and Yellowjacket spends the whole time figuring a polite way to leave them.
>>
>>89809042
That could work too.

I feel one of them, either Sam, Max, or Jack would mention something about how they can't keep babysitting him while the danger escalates.
I feel Jack would be the one to say that.
>>
>>89809896
>Vince is glad that he's no longer around those two, but he remember that he doesn't have a transport
>He is trying to find a new partner in Nowhere to no avail, then Old Jack appears with a motorcycle
>>
>>89811100
It's more like he's wandering around Nowhere looking for a bus station or something then is drawn to the commotion of Old Jack confronting Pym and Hex.
>>
>>89813216
Yeah, that.

I feel like we should have something with cacti in the desert leg, but I'm drawing a blank.
>>
>>89814498
Something like the trick Goofy pulls on Spongebob in Nowhere? Two racers could clash, with one of them crashing against a group of cacti
>>
>>89815040
We already had Dan crash into a patch of cacti in leg one.

I was thinking Dick plants bombs in some of the cacti hoping the needles will launch and blow out other racer's tires.
>>
>>89815111
Like what Mrs. Robinson did with his bugs and the cholla cacti?
>>
>>89816170
I wasn't thinking about that, but I guess it's similar.

Or maybe Dick makes pitfalls filled with cacti.
>>
Besides Diesel, who was going to be part of the train crew? I think one of them could appear here being beaten.
>>
>>89816668
Who is that conductor from Thomas the Tank Engine?
He's the one with the train the others are riding on.
>>
>>89818471

>>
>>89819306
Yes, the fat guy, who bricked a train into a tunnel Montressor style, as a joke.
>>
>>89816301
While they drive across the desert, the racers could notice that some cacti are missing chunks or were completely uprooted, should Dick put the traps along the route or near the finish line?
>>
>>89821640
Probably closer to the finish line where he knows for certain people will race into them.

It could really screw someone with a good lead out of sure win.
>>
>>89821817
I think there is a minor racer in the characters list that was supposed to take the lead then get retired from the race shortly after.

>Ability: 「FOOLS RUSH IN」 allows its' user to
>a) Gain speed by making user more inaccurate
>b) gain accuracy by slowing the speed down.
>By doing one of the modes it negates the other at a very fast rate.
>If inaccuracy or speed are gone past a certain period, stand stops working, with Krosh still being able to deal damage, but albeit at slower rate. Stand recharges after 15 minutes.
>Vehicle: The one he used in his show

In Aberdale, Spongebob could be part of the defenders and use his Ocean Man to create a small army of clones

>>

>>
>>89836645
Did he blame Spongebob for something else?
>>
>>89837447
Well he smashed into Spongebob's rock at the finish line for the first leg of the race.

I suppose he could feel he's being "cheated" by Spongebob since he keeps getting in the way somehow.
>>
>>89838024
So Goofy develops a one-sided rivalry with Spongebob, who may not even notice it?
>>
>>89838347
Yes, and it comes to a head when Spongebob is drawn to the corpse parts Goofy is tasked with locating and retrieving.

Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, the third time it's enemy action.
And Goofy must eliminate all threats to his objective.
>>
Maybe we can introduce that ripoff guy with the next round of interviews.

>>
>>89840771
The interviews aren't going to be linear, Serenity asks the first question and we see multiple responses to it taken from later points in time so we don't have to show her asking the same question to everyone she talks to.

Then the same for the other two questions.

It's a common thing you see in documentaries.
>>
Page 10 bump.
>>
>>89839202
Should they have an actual exchange before their duel in Nowhere?
>>
>>89843737
I'm pretty sure the entire exchange is already written and in the doc.
>>
>>89844102
yeah, but I meant before they meet there
>>
>>89844139
The third time Goofy interacts with Spongebob is that moment though.
>>
>>89844139
You mean in Aberdale?

We can establish the Spongebob isn't even aware of Goofy's existence and Goofy begins pondering if he's an enemy or not.
>>
>>89846181
Yeah, in Aberdale. Spongebob could notice him and consider it a friendly rivalry at first, then Goofy's behavior makes him wary.
>>
>>89846879
So maybe Goofy does that "Are you trying to cheat me again?" thing in response to something Spongebob does and the situation gets defused by either someone or the attacking plant monsters.

Hasn't been decided on or even discussed all that much.

There has been maybe one suggestion that Spongebob would take first place again.
>>
I'm starting to feel kinda burned out guys.

I'm not giving up, but every time someone asks a question like >>89874569 instead of making a suggestion, it just feels like there's more and more pressure being put on me to make all the decisions on where the story is going.
>>
>>89874858
Okay, let' see:
-Spongebob could take first place or second place, He is still the racer with most points
-Hex and Pym are delayed by Punisher's attack but they still need to be in the top 20 to get the tank of pillar propane
-Rex also uses pillar propane in the last leg of the paris section, so he also needs to be in the top 20
-Goofy fells in the trap while being in the leading group, if it's a repeat of the previous leg he could easily fall to 10th place or worse
-Sam and Max' car breaks in the middle of the desert, so they also fall in the leaderboard, Vince is with them now so he takes the third place after them.

What are these threads about?
Holy shit this thread only has 17 posters in it
>>
>>89876435
So where does Dick Dastardly place?

>>89876525
The threads are about an extremely long fanfic born of memes that we have been working on for almost an entire year now.

We're at the point where whoever still remain are determined to finish this fucking thing.
>>
>>89875983
At least he's asking questions instead of just bumping a thread.

>I'm starting to feel kinda burned out guys
Dude, don't force yourself to keep writing a story when you're burnt out, take some time to rest your ideas and stop trying to keep going when you can't.

The worst thing to do when you're burnt out it to keep going, write your thoughts down and come back to it later. Read a book or go outside to refresh your thought, then come back to it later with an at eased mind and new ideas.
>>
>>89876864
>So where does Dick Dastardly place?
Well, he is a professional racer that falls behind just to mess with the other racers, I don't think he needs the pillar propane for the next stages but he could still be among the top 20.
>>
>>89876883
But will the threads still be around when I get back?
Because every time I have had things to do the threads don't seem to stick around that long and progress drops to almost zero.
>>
>>89875983
I'm still here, though most of my best suggestions and ideias are for later parts. Things are going to get better. Don't force yourself too much.

>>89876525
It's a very long /co/ project with most of its main story parts completed. We're already too close to completion to just give up.
>>
Hold on, how old was Dick's son in Wacky Raceland? He could finish each leg in that place on purpose, the meaning of that number only explained at the end when he meets again with his family.

>>89877950
Some of the older parts still need to be expanded
>>
>>89877950
I'm just doing my best to write this from start to finish to avoid a repeat of part 3 and 4 where we ended up with huge gaps between the parts anons were interested in.

The problem is there is so much build up needed for each section of part 7 where interest is high and I'm just not getting the input and feedback I need to properly write those these long stretches of plot that need to be expanded on to make the other stuff happen.

>>89878123
His wife and son were both dead in Wacky Raceland and Dick was a death seeker because it was his fault or he blamed himself.
I think his son was in single digits.

In this, they're both alive and fine and not going to be mentioned until the epilogue.

Which in reality it is just 5 or 6 people with static IPs, if you notice that is the same posters from the beginning of the thread, plus the random passbyer who comments how these threads are still allowed here as the majority of the board ignores/despises its existence.
>>
>>89871842
He could also have listened to the interviews before the start of the race and respond with a jumbled mess of said interviews
>>
>>89880196
That's hard to represent in text form.

>>
>>89882075
With ellipsis and pauses, some words may be in full caps too, similar to how Telephone Avatar talked in part 5.
>>
>>89882211
Should he also mimic body language?
>>
>>89883634
His Stand has this ability:
>The Stand also has the unfortunate side effect of 「'TIS SWEET TO BE REMEMBERED」, wherein the user forgets much of their own identity, to the point where they simply copy the style and mannerisms of others in order to eventually murder & replace them
so yeah, though I don't think the Stand allows him to perfectly mimic other people but rather he has to emulate them by himself.
>>
>>89883813
How much of his brain is he able to maintain?
Because if he doesn't follow the rules (you can only kill the other racers DURING the race) then he'd going to get snuffed out.

He has to have at least some intelligence, unless his stand is intelligent and wants the Wishing Star so it can be free of its worthless meat host.
We really should come up with more motives for characters to want the star.

And the words just aren't coming to me right now, so here's my last bump before bed.
>>
>>89885262
>Thomas can serve as a minor threat that serves as an examination of the dangers of following an ideal blindly or of lacking a self-driven goal, or he can simply be a lackey of Mr. Nobody, who sees 「PAINT IT BLACK」 as an opportunity to finally escape the cycle of emulation and elimination.
The second option sounds like the Wizard's lite version. He could also be after the Wishing Star to get rid of his Stand, like Robotman, so he can retain his original identity.
>>
morning bump
>>
>>89878550
>In this, they're both alive and fine and not going to be mentioned until the epilogue
He ended in 17th place in the first leg, he could finish each stage in the same place for the sake of simplicity.

The pillar propane that Navis uses in Paris is a direct gift from Strickland or she won it in Aberdale?
>>
>>89885371
Currently there are no plans for him to have any affiliation with Mr. Nobody.
I think he works better as just another racer who has very dangerous tendencies.

>>89890673
Let's say he finishes 19th in Aberdale. Or if she's not in the top 20, the she takes the pillar propane off of Spongebob's body in Nowhere.

Navis gets the pillar propane in Aberdale by finishing in the top 20.
>>
>>89890999
If she loots the canister from Spongebob's body, should she get in a fight with the skeleton dogs?
>>
>>89891365
She might be there when they first surface and then book it afterwards without engaging.

Though she's probably inspecting the scene of the fight to get clues and insight as to what happened since she was viewing it from a distance.

If she places out of the top 20 at Aberdale, I'd say it's because she was still mostly following her orders to investigate stuff and caught wind of the Loki fight, so I think she'd still place ahead of Sam and Max, but maybe behind Hex and Pym.

Hex and Pym don't get too delayed by their encounter with the Punisher since he doesn't stay to fight them after Shocker makes his escape.
>>
>>89891900
The undead dogs could piece themselves together each time they are destroyed, so Navis requests backup from Strickland to contain them once she leaves.
>>
>>89892526
All kinds of red flags and alarms must be going off at Strickland.

Aside from all the shit happening already caused by the race, now there's trouble in Nowhere again and also a guy who might be talking to himself later.

The question becomes how to make that all come into play?
>>
>>89893509
The alert of a guy talking to himself happens after CN City and from there onwards Navis has the additional task of keeping an eye of the Wizard, which seems to come to an end in Chile and the Wizard may be unaware that both Strickland and Interpol are tracking him.

Strickland could take samples from the dogs in Nowhere to identify what reanimated them and report their findings in a later stage.
>>
>>89893901
Might be interesting if on Fantastic Island Navis records what happens in Daffy's villa with the Wizard absorbing the La Cucaracha Act 2 fragments out of Snake Eyes.
>>
>>89895058
Now that would freak out everyone in Strickland and confirm that LeTerally is back in some form. So that means that Navis will also be in Daffy's villa along with the Wizard and Dick.
>>
>>89895483
More like lurking around outside with surveillance equipment.
>>
What should be the next thing after Chameleon dies? going straight to the Iron Vulture's introduction?
>>
>>89897057
How long are they in CN City for? Does the fight with Watt take place the same day they arrive or the next day?

I'd say the next day since it would take time for preparations to be made and for Pym to sober up since his time of being overheard at the bar.

So since it's the next day, we can go straight into the Iron Vulture's approach after that.

The Punisher fight happens before the Watt fight, right?

Seems so, it was suggested that he is Hank's half-brother since they look and sound alike
>>
>>89903557
But did Hank ever know about it?
>>
>>89908449
I don't think so, Cotton slept with 273 women, Hank couldn't keep tab of all his half-brothers; and it seems that the other characters don't know his relationship with the Hill family.
>>
>>89908612
OK, so are we going to have a Strickland connection with him or not?
>>

As a local representative of Strickland, perhaps? He could be there to hand down the prizes or greet the racers.

I'm not sure which version we're using.

I've never been much of an Iron Man fan, so I'm not sure which version has what personality.

Who's the phantom that is keeping the other ghosts of the manor hostage? I think that is a reference to something but I can't remember it.
>>
>>89922714
I think it's from a European comics series.

I don't remember if an exact ghost was ever picked.
>>
>>89921495
The island was never lost.
Odds are they built an outpost on it before Stark bought it, but it was abandoned during the years Chane was controlling Strickland.
>>
>>89693244
man how long has this been going on
>>
>>89924889
If I remember correctly, the Eds turned the island in a tourist trap, then they sold it to some guy before part 4 and it changed hands until Stark became the owner.

During his introduction, Tony could make a joke about not being responsible of what happened to the natives of the island (the ones before Daffy took over).
>>
>>89925303
Who eve were the original natives before they got La Cucaracha'd?
>>
>>89927096
We are using Madeira as the location of Fantastic Island, I assume there was a portuguese settlement before Daffy and his henchmen captured the island.
>>
>>89927386
Did they all just abandon the island after the effect was undone claiming the island was cursed?
>>
>>89929377
I don't think that we have explored the island's history beyond the events of part 3. In that part, Secret Squirrel mentions an island resort when sharing info with Tom.
>>
>>89930038
So it was a resort, Daffy took it over somehow, turned everyone on the island into him, got beaten, everyone not dead turned back and quit, the Eds took over and sold it off. Then stuff happened before Stark bought it.
>>
>>89930983
Well, the island is pretty big, and I recall there was a town besides the villa.
>>
>>89931405
There's the port, a town further inland, and another larger town that's more like a city on the other side of the island with Daffy's villa over looking it from the mountain side.

Maybe frame it so the curtain goes up and it looks like Mr. Nobody was busy doing something else before turning around and noticing the crowd.

Penning the situation as if Mr. Nobody is treating it like a stage play might be interesting here. It'd be good if he'd do something different each time.

What does Shocker do that costs Joshua a leg?
>>
>>89946192
Depends if it's before or after he crosses the finish line.

If it's before, then Joshua could've just gotten in the way by being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

If it's after, then I have no idea.
>>
>>89946238
>If it's before, then Joshua could've just gotten in the way by being in the wrong place at the wrong time
you mean getting run over by Shocker?
>>
>>89946356
Pretty much, yeah.

I get the feeling Joshua is an outcast at this point so he didn't even hear about the big race coming to town.
He probably had a tent set up right in the middle of where the racers had to pass through to get into town.
>>
>>89946449
>The racers find Joshua's camp in the middle of the road; they try to evade it, some crash with Joshua's crap
>Shocker goes straight through it, blasting stuff with his gauntlets
>He rams a tent not knowing that Joshua was inside, his fat body is sent flying through the air
>>
>>89947089
He tries to come back later to take revenge on Shocker only to get pushed down a ditch by him and then ensnared by the thing The Beast sent before merging with it via his wooden leg.
>>
>>89948427
>then ensnared by the thing The Beast sent
what thing?
>>
>>89949338
The zombie plants.

One of them merges with his peg leg and he becomes like a lure for an angle fish type monster.
>>
>>89945097
For some reason I keep thinking the vampire in part 1 was a chocolate duck vampire or something like that.
>>
At what point Haddock was supposed to get the liver? Before or after defeating the Beast?
>>
>>89953809
It seems he gets it before.

He takes the urn from Sumo thinking it's someone bringing him another drink and downs the contents.
This is before The Beasts monsters attack. I assume he sets out to the Monster House (I think we're still using that) to fight The Beast before the rest of the town is under attack.
>>
>>89953865
The Monster House seems to be guarding the Beast's underground lair, I think it was suggested that he moved from where he was first seen after Clarence and his friends stole the urn.

So the vision that Haddock gets also happens before going there?
>>
>>89954059
I assume he gets the vision after downing the liver and is compelled to confront The Beast in part by it.

The other part being some kids asked him to fight a monster and he's not one to back away from something like that.

Haddock and Joshua could have some interesting interactions if he mistakes Josh for a pirate.
>>
>>89954116
Will he start displaying his Stand's ability during the fight?
>>
>>89954613
He can. I don't know if he had it before or after obtaining the liver.
>>
>>89955169
He gains his Stand after merging with the liver, though no one realizes that he has a corpse part until later on.
>>
>>89955268
So he drunkenly uses it to fight and defeat The Beast.
>>
If Haddock confuses Joshua with a pirate, when he yells "pirates!" his Stand could yank Joshua from his current position to Haddock's
>>
>>89956641
And so it makes it look like Josh was the one behind all of the invading monsters.

Somehow.
>>
>>89958035

>Ends up in a Strickland lab getting probed day and night

That poor faggot. What will Strickland find after removing the splinters from Joshua's body?

Just the broken body of a man.

But a man so badly cursed with bad luck that they'll keep him for research since anyone as unfortunate as him must have connections to some cosmic fuckery.

>>89960102
Is he going to share a cell with Zombie?
>>
>>89961715
Zombie I don't think it getting caught by Strickland, Sam and Max take him to go do something.

Though we can have a scene later where they determine Josh is just an ordinary man and relay that information to Navis so she knows something is still foul in the race.
>>
>>89962248
>Sam and Max take him to go do something
See if he knows how to turn them back into males, if they found anything or no is left in the air. There is also the idea that they drop from the race there.
>>
>>89962545
Mainly because they might be too game breaking once the space leg starts.

I'm still struggling with just getting the plot to Aberdale right now.
>>
Where will the racers stay while waiting for the announcement of the next checkpoint?
>>
>>89963948
In Aberdale?
In... hotels? In their cars to make sure no one sabotages them again?

When does the Beast attack? If his minions are plant based, would they attack during the day?
The racers arrive in the morning.
>>
>>89964049
Right now, the action happens at night, but the monsters could start appearing during the day scouting the town in search of the missing urn.
>>
>>89964169
Could begin as the sun is setting and then the part is illuminated by the still burning fires.

Is someone else going to write the Aberdale part?
>>
>>89964395
I was working in some lines for Clarence's group, like the scene where they found the doll filled with plants
>>
>>89964646
That's good. I was liking those bits.

Hopefully tomorrow I'll finally be in the proper mood to get the next leg of the race written, or at least start it.

I think my main problem is that this next leg has a much larger time limit, so it has more room to breath than the fist leg. That means I need to adapt a mentality of "not every minute needs to be filled with raw action" since there's going to be 'dead time' as the racers spread out as they cross the desert that I should be able to gloss over.
>>
>>89964798
Not every moment of the desert crossing should be detailed, only the highlights.

Who else is getting showcased in Aberdale before the plants attack? There is Shocker's meeting with Chameleon, Navis getting briefed in Strickland, and Pym and Hex doing something in the hotel
>>
>>89962941
The second half of the Aberdale section needs some elaboration, to be specific, what happens before the attack and what is the order of events during the fight
>>
Should we show what Vince is doing while staying with Sam and Max in the hotel?
>>
>>89964925
It seems most of the focus is on Clarence's group trying to find some racers who will help them.

>>89965642
Before the attack Clarence's group is running around asking whichever racers we want to showcase for help.

I think it goes
-asking for help
-various racers either refuse or brush them off as over excited kids
-Shocker trips up Josh and he falls into a ditch
-Vince/Jack starts exploring the town on his own
-Navis has a briefing with Strickland
-Haddock drinks the urn and begins making his way to the graveyard, finds nothing but dug up empty graves everywhere
-Show the Beast has changed location to an old house and is warping it
-Show roots spreading around town before the attack starts
-One of the roots finds Josh and merges with his peg leg
-The attack begins

I'd need to compare notes with whoever is actually doing this section before continuing.
>>
>>89945122
He could be one of the previous heads of the family from the time they were chased out of France.
>>
>>89968848
I suppose that the kids will go along with Haddock to face the Beast, get lost and find the infested doll somewhere, then their fight against that thing eventually leads them to the main group of characters battling the horde of plants
>>
>>89969251
Maybe once they disturb the doll, that's what sets off the attack.
>>
>>89970179
So the Beast can see through his minions?
>>
>>89970595
Sounds good to me. He can probably see through any plant matter he's connected to.
>>
>>89971255
Alright, now I need a place for them to find the lil' buddy.
>>
>>89971759
At the edge of the graveyard as they are leaving after seeing all of the open graves with nothing in them and nothing else around.

Clarence rushes over to pick up his lil' buddy only to find he's rooted to the ground and then his head turns and roots pour out of his mouth as he begins to move on his own.
>>
>>89968848
The roots should infest Joshua's leg earlier on and he complains that his peg leg constantly itches before the attack, then it mutates into a proper plant monster.
>>
>>89973460
So did he make his peg leg himself?

Right before it turns into a monster, he should realize "wait, a wooden leg shouldn't itch" and then notices the vines running up and down it and going into him.
>>
>>89973592
>So did he make his peg leg himself?
I guess, he has become an outcast, so I don't expect that anyone from the town had come to assist him when he was run over
>>
>>89973708
So does he get run over before or after Clarence's group steals the urn?
>>
>>89973839
Probably around the same time since the racers arrive when Clarence's group escape from the Beast's lair
>>
>>89956641
Faggot dies via toilet.
>>
>>89973922
So as soon as Sumo notices the racers coming to town, that's when the focus shifts back to the race and Dick's cactus pit trap happens.
>>
>>89974819
Does that means that Goofy is still struggling to get out of the hole when the first racers cross the line?
>>
>>89975154
I feel like he's the kind of character who could recover from that by doing that pin cushion trick where a sharp object causes the character who sits on it to be propelled upwards.

I doubt he'll be in the top 10 though.

>Jack: "I'm a bee keeper, I'll follow the buzzing."
>Jack walks off in the rocks not looking back with one arm raised waving back at them

Now do we want to lead into Loki here with him watching or cut to Shocker looking around because he's a suspicious bastard who can smell a trap?
>>
>>89985020
I think the Loki part should come later, though I don't know when the focus should go from Shocker to Sam and Max
>>
>>89985109
How about we end that scene with Loki overlooking Sam and Max, smiling smugly to himself, then cut to Shocker.

We focus on Shocker for a bit as he goes through a ravine or a canyon before getting ambushed by Hex.
Shocker was expecting that, but not the dust and rocks being thrown into the canyon by Pym up top. Then we need to figure out how Hex goes about catching Shocker.
Right when it seems like he has him FRANKAFRANKAFRANKAFRANKA and Pym's bullet proof laminated windshield shatters like a church window as Frank descends into the scene doing his war journal entry thing.

Then we need to figure out the confrontation between Hex and Frank, possibly an argument over rights to the bounty. Shocker takes this time to escape and Pym does something like drop a boulder to try and cut off his exit, but it also forces Frank to withdraw leaving behind his knife gun.
The thing falls apart when Pym points out everything logically wrong about it and Hex explains disruptions giving Pym more to think about.

Cut back to Sam and Max who are in mid battle with Loki who is taunting them and also making them an offer.
Max probably calls him out on sounding like he's trying to flirt.
Some other racer goes by talking about the burning man, maybe, or Jiggy shows up, Loki retreats.

Enter Jack, who is unrecognizable as he looks like a monster made out of bees and is coming right at them until he strikes a pose and all the bees disperse revealing he's totally fine and he drops the line "I'm one of those rare people bees don't sting" as he pours the water into the radiator.
Max should look astonished.
>>
>>89985415
Frank could berate Hex for hunting criminals only for the money

>Max probably calls him out on sounding like he's trying to flirt
>Max: Oh, so that was your plan all along
>Loki: Well, not really but…
>Max: Instead of picking any woman in the globe, you go and turn us into dames for your sick fantasies!
>Loki is speechless, his mouth wide open
>Sam: Fella, you give a new meaning to tricky dick. In other circumstances, I would not criticize the fetishes of other people, but my Y chromosome wasn't compromised in those instances

Hex could fire back that killing people for nothing is a waste of time. There's always more scum to be found.

I'll work on that more tomorrow if I can.

I'm getting quite ahead of the current stuff, but have we decided what will happen with the Hero's Corpse once the part is over?

I haven't actually put any thought into that.

Maybe it ascends to a higher plane of existence? Or maybe they cremate it by sending it into the sun?

Pic unrelated. It's just an old thing from a drawthread that makes me happy.

I have three potential scenarios in mind (shooting it to the sun is one of them), but I'm waiting to reach that part to see which one fits better and what are the effects of the Corpse merging with Jane and Serenity

Yeah, it's a pain sometimes waiting to get to parts in a part.

I'm largely just trying to take this one piece at a time while letting anyone else work on any other section they feel like as I slowly connect everything and smooth out any issues in connecting the pieces as they arise.

This part feels like it's going to be pushing 300 pages with the way it's going.
I guess I'll need to condense some things better, maybe make the thing in Smallville less of an arc and more of a one-off.

Is there something going on in Smallville before the racers arrive? Was the town affected in some way due to his connection to Superman?

Have you ever read a book called Good Omens?
In the book there is a certain town where a certain child lives.
When an angel visited this place he noted that there was nothing out of the ordinary other than there was a deep sense of love present. Just something that happens when someone really loves a certain place.

But getting back to our fanfic here, Smallville is so beloved by Kent that even years after whatever happened to him happened, the place is still protected by this blanket of love.

Anyway, need to think more on how to best set up that Shocker scene.
Should Beeper be there watching the whole thing go down?

Things for tomorrow... today?

Beeper could be recording right next to them, dodging every stray shot from Hex or Shocker
