Heyo, my /co/co/nuts. Do the thing that you do, while keep bumping and doing my little special thing.

It does look weird the "nowhere" in the list of destinations

Anyway, last thread ended before the destruction of the Golden Gate
>>89265152
>>89272930
>>89280332
>>89280286

From there onwards we need to develop what happens with the racers after the bridge is destroyed
>>
>>89285316

"Spectres" is still refered wrong in the playlist. It should be related with Blue Oyster Cult's album, not the band Spectres.
>>
>>89285628
Oh, sorry, didn't move it yet. Right now it is after Dethklok, The final one of part 6 . I will move it tomorrow.
>>
That a no on Sentry then?

We don't know where he could fit; he may be connected to the Hero, but that's still far away.

Speaking of Bitters, should she retain her ability from part 5 or being stuck in the pit warped her powers somehow? Is she merged with the corpse part?

OK, doc 7 is finally restored to a pre-vandalized state, updated with everything from last thread that looks like we're using, and backed up so I have an up-to-date offline copy to work with when I start writing some more.

ditto with the Stand doc

Good! I think I will also start the /co/rge /co/star. It was too long without the update.
>>
So I'm still just kicking around some spare thoughts, haven't been able to sit down and write the next part.

When Mr. Nobody is eating noodles, should he sign the document authorizing the new bridge with one of the chopsticks, or use a stamp?
I think Killinger would produce the document from his Magic Murder Bag and Mr. Nobody would call him a Spoon Full of Sugar for doing that for him.
>>
>>89288660
Killinger hands him both the document and his personal stamp. One of the chopsticks is actually a pen and he spin it in his fingers before signing the papers without seeing, using the other chopstick to finish his noodles.

There is also a scene where he comments on Dick's oil slick trick while using a pair of opera glasses, that goes before or after he signs the document?

>>89288797
After he finishes his noodles, that's when Shocker makes it behind Dick who triggers the oil slick.

Pretty much everything leading up to the first checkpoint is very well covered, I just need to finally get some time to sort it all out and get it into the proper wording.

So he could either take the place of Superman in the AU or, if we are using the idea from the previous thread, be one of the individuals that were aggregated into The Hero's concept. Perhaps instead of being just Superman's ghost, the holders of the Corpse parts are contacted by different Superman expies.
>>
Wasn't that part with Jiggy combing his hair of fire supposed to take place in a later section?
>>
>>89290809
I re-read through the stuff and thought it'd work better where it was originally suggested to happen at.

Do you think that'd work better at Springfield? Because I was the one who suggested moving that to Springfield, then I changed my mind while going through all the new stuff.
>>
>>89290852
I dunno, I wrote that because another anon wanted to reference the images with the Ghost Rider with a pompadour. Wherever it fits better.

Also, are we gonna incorporate the story of King Kong Sr. when introducing the kaiju bar?

The Ghost Rider pompadour suggestion was also me.
I think it fits fine where it's at now.
Though Jiggy's hair isn't quite a pompadour.

Who is better to do some narration for The Big One bar? TOM or Mr. Nobody?
I feel TOM would go over a brief history of the place before the racers get there for the benefit of the viewers.
It's nice to have an in-universe narrator with a completely justified reason for narrating.
>>
>>89291198
TOM, he is the announcer of the race after all and his Stand has an ability that is pretty much the power of exposition. His narration would be more professional than what Nobody could give.

Though Mr. Nobody is prone to doing narration, though in a much more lucid way.

Let's see, what can we use here.

>And in our newest breaking news story for tonight, it seems "the King" has died. Authorities have found King William Kong, dead at the age of 79. Not from airplanes, or tanks, or even the drugs he was well-known for; field reporter Lara Logan is here live at the scene, with details on what have happened. Let's take a look.

>"I'm here live at San Fransisco, in the downtown Chinatown area. As you can see behind me, the US military has been called on the scene, as well as local authorities, to investigate. Around 1AM last night, the body of King Kong, the former big monster movie star, was discovered in his chair at the back of The Big One, the world- famous bar that caters exclusively to monsters of all kinds. So far, no one is sure what has happened, but it has been confirmed that King Kong was last seen at this bar with former co-star and friend, Godzilla. Police and military officials have declined to state whether or not there is any correlation.

This is the one mention of the bar we're using in the kaiju actors thread (I have a copy of the archive of the thread, so that just makes things easier for everyone if I copy paste this into the thread rather than having to re-type it from the cap).

What history do we need for TOM to go over about the bar?
Kong Sr. dying there is what Loki uses to incite a bar fight later.
>>
>>89291669
I thought he died from an overdose. TOM may give a small summary of Kong Sr. life and his role as a star but won't delve on the darker aspects of his life, he is not a paparazzo.
>>
>>89291778
That's the original post, the autopsy report didn't come in until later.
>>
I'll post what I have right now and see if I get any feedback.

>The scene pans up to the sky again and focuses in on an observation blimp
>TOM pics up the mic and zooms in on the land below “And we’re back, Toonami faithful; the leaders of the pack are just now entering the outskirts of the beautiful San Fransokyo area, renown for elusive views, it’s iconic Golden Gate bridge, and it’s abundance of floating wind turbines.” A map of the area is displayed showing the location of the checkpoint and where the leaders are currently at. “The checkpoint is located inside The Big One, the world famous bar that caters exclusively to monsters of all kinds. A legendary meeting place of giants, both physical and metaphorical, in the acting world. But first the racers will need to cross the river, it looks like things might get hairy folks since the only road with a straight shot will force them all onto the Golden gate Bridge.”
>TOM pauses and does a double take before zooming in with one of the cameras so we see a lone figure next to a car on the bridge, “What’s this?” We see the Mean Machine parked on the bridge “Unbelievable! Dick Dastardly has somehow shot way out in front of the other racers, he’s already half way across the bridge!” Full panel shot of Dick Dastardly lounging in a beach chair next to his Mean Machine “And it looks like he’s stopped to take a nap in the middle of the road!”
>Dick Dastardly has his feet up and a perfectly peaceful look on his face, he opens one eye and looks across the bridge before grinning “Ha ha! Finally!” and with a clap of his hands, he’s already up and tossed the beach lounger into the trunk and hopped into his Mean Machine where he gets ready to take off, but not before putting his finger on a red button just as the lead racers are just beginning to cross the bridge

cont.
>>
>>89292891
>Scene changes to further back in the pack, Rover has made good time catching up with the leaders, but they’re still about three minutes behind
>Pym: “So… this Pacing, right now we’re arriving to the bridge, what I'm supposed to see there?”
>Hex: “Stop.”
>Pym: “What?”
>Hex: "STOP!" He stomps on the brake, Pym almost hit his head on the windshield
>Pym: “What the fuck, cowboy!? you're trying to kill me or…”
>Pym is interrupted by a series of explosions on the bridge
>Hex: “Nah, someone else wanted to do that.”
>Pym: “How did you knew that?”
>Hex just cracks his knuckles "Saw it comin’."

>The bridge explodes, cables snap and crash into the road, the road itself begins tilting and crumbling, parts of it flip completely, racers go flying off into the water
>Spongebob and his rock hit the drink and sink like… well, a rock
>The “Where are my Pants?” Guy from the LEGO Movie was piloting a giant pants mecha and falls into the water, he is then retired from the race because his pants were dry clean only
>The Beetles in their Yellow Submarine are just fine
>Aunt May is doing some Chitty Chitty Bang Bang shit with her car turning into a boat
>Other racers were not so prepared and are forced to abandon their vehicles and cling to buoys while waiting for rescue
>Others were not even that lucky and got caught in the explosions

>The scene changes back to the observation blimp with TOM reacting in shock “Inconceivable folks! Dick Dastardly has blown up the bridge! He had the lead and still felt compelled to hang back and take out his competition! President Mr. Nobody, what are your thoughts on this heinous action?”
>Mr. Nobody is busy eating a bowl of noodles as TOM turns the camera to him, Mr. Nobody waves and his aide opens his bag to produce a document
cont.
>>
>>89292935
>One of the chopsticks he was using is actually a pen and he twirls it in his fingers before signing the papers without even looking, using the other chopstick to finish his noodles before speaking “The Golden Gate bridge has been an iconic landmark of this area for decades” he wipes where his mouth would be with a napkin “I have just singed the documents authorizing a new bridge to be constructed, one that has been postponed, delayed, and shunned by local officials for decades now. The yearly cost of up keep for the Golden Gate Bridge could’ve paid for this new bridge several times over since it was first proposed. This new structure will be able to accommodate the city’s larger than life population.” Mr. Nobody stamps the document “My fellow Americans, my beloved residents of San Fransokyo, do not look at this as a tragedy, look at it as an opportunity for progress!”
>One of the people standing next to Mr. Nobody as he says this is a large blue man with a large nose and wide yellow grin who seems to be almost glowing as he picks up the president's plate from the table
>Tom is stunned by this “Well, there you have it folks, and I’m just getting this now, the bridge was in fact closed to the public before the racers even arrived so no one (aside from the people who signed the waivers) were harmed.”

That's where I'm at. I'm still trying to get back into the swing of this, so I don't feel like I have Mr. Nobody down all that well here.
>>
>>89293035
Pretty good, there is a small typo: it should be signed, not singed.

The Blue Meanie hasn't been properly introduced, is it?
>>
>>89293564
Yeah, that's the Blue Meanie, just no narration box for him yet.
That's for Smallville.

At this early point in the story most of the Dada party has yet to be properly introduced.
>>
>>89291981
When Loki arrives to the bar, he could use his demonic powers to either project his voice into one of the kaiju or force the muscles in its face to gesticulate as Loki trashtalks Kong sr.
>>
>>89296152
He could do that while standing near or on the giant chair (now roped off in Kong's honor or out of respect, bars always have stuff like that) Kong died in.
>>
>>89296708
>He jumps on top of a Kaiju and forces him to sit in Kong Sr. chair while he's making it talk shit about Kong
>The nearbiest kaijus loses their shit for this and Loki jumps away before they start pummeling the kaiju he was riding
>>
>>89297495
So does he throw his voice into the kaiju's mouth or use some unseen force to push the giant monster around?
>>
OK, hopefully the thread won't die prematurely on us.

I'll try to continue on with the writing over the weekend.
>>
>>89298403
both, he first uses a sort of ventriloquism on one of the monsters, then he forces a monster to move like a puppet
>>
When will Hex and Pym become aware of what is a Stand? I think there was going to be an introduction in San Fransokyo in a previous draft, but I don't remember if they will be part of said exposition.
>>
>>89303576
I think Hex knows what a stand is, but he can't see them so he can't be sure when one of those powers is in effect.

The introduction of stands in the part is in San Fransokyo with Sam and Max fighting Backslide, but Hex and Pym don't explicitly encounter an explanation until CN City, though Hex suspects Shocker has one before that when they capture him in Nowhere.
>>
>>89304773
There is also the encounter with Billy Watt, who tries to pass his robot as a Stand, they would figure sooner or later that isn't, especially if Hex already knows what is a Stand.
>>
>>89305455
Yes, that is what I was referring to with CN City.
>>
>>89289157
How would one decide on which expys qualify?
One per company? Per era? Per nondescript theme?
>>
>>89306784
Could be the ones based directly on Superman or be any character that was closer to the ideal of heroism. I recall that in an old thread it was suggested that the sentient robots could held the Iron Giant as their version of the Hero, if he actually was among the characters that embodied the "Hero" or is just part of their beliefs is unknown.
>>
>>89307999
We did begin drawing a distinction between Superman and "the spirit of the Hero" as separate entities with Superman just being the most recent remembered manifestation of "the Hero".

Have there been other "heroes" since Superman died 100+ years ago? Is the reason why Mr. Nobody isn't targeting them because they are not publicly recognized as they symbol of heroism?
Would the "spirit of the hero" summon them to help combat Mr. Nobody's plans?
>>
>>89309469
I think Superman was the last and the one that embodied it best, that's why it remained bound to his Corpse, which became a medium to channel the Spirit. Nobody needs to create a new "hero" before using Paint it Black.
>>
>>89309674
Maybe a further reason is the spirit is bound keeping Stardust contained.
>>
>>89311166
So, it was the Spirit of the Hero the one that trapped Stardust the first time?
>>
>>89312878
I think Superman used the spirit of the hero to trap Stardust, he used it like a weapon and kept both it and Stardust from escaping him since they were all products of it.
>>
>>89313486

I always assumed he was something alien to the setting's Earth (granted, Superman is also an alien here if I'm not wrong). There is also the possibility of him being related to the Wishing Star in some way, like Killinger.
>>
>>89316282
I'm not sure how related either of them are to the Wishing Star.

We really need to work on that.
>>
>>89316791
I think Killinger was suggested as a sort of herald of the Wishing Star, but it was also suggested that he is/was a member of the Warner Bros with a deep knowledge of both the Wishing Star and the Hero's Corpse. There is also the little detail that both can make "miraculous things"
>>
>>89317429
I don't think we were keeping the demon angle with him.
>>
>>89319180
Should we keep Killinger's nature hidden (at least until the end/epilogue)?
>>
>>89319286
Yeah, I think the plan was to always keep what he is ambiguous.
>>
A minor detail but what kind of stand is Goofy's Under Pressure? a punchghost, object or another type?
>>
>>89321709
It pulls things, like pulling one edge of a canyon to meet the other side for a second, just long enough to cross.

Aside from that, I have no idea how it works or what it looks like since I don't usually read up on the stand description until I need it in the story writing.

Wasn't able to get any time to work on this today.
>>
>>89321968
It was mostly to know if he uses it to fight in his behalf or he must fight for himself.

Here's a exchange between Hex and Pym after the fight with Watt, not sure how much they will know about Stands at this point, so edit it as necessary:

>Pym: Ha, take that! We beaten his Stand without having one
>Hex: That wasn't a Stand …
>Pym: What do you mean it wasn't a Stand? He yelled to the four winds that this giant soupcan was his Stand
>Hex: Since when a robot is called a Stand? And those so-called Stand users in the race, did you see any big robot with them?
>Pym: You have a point. So, all this talk about Stands is made up crap?
>Hex: I don’t think so. I heard about them before and I have encountered some weird stuff back in the day that people referred to Stands
>Pym: Then, how do these Stands look like?
>Hex: So far I never seen one of these “Stands”, but I have the feeling that we already fought against them in this race (The silhouettes of Backslide and Shocker appear alongside Hex)
>Pym: Alright... I'm not following, you have never seen a Stand before but you are sure they exist, is that what you are trying to tell me?
>Hex: Again, just a feeling. Keep your eyes peeled for anything weird, boy, and watch your back; this race is starting to give me bad vibes
>Pym: Funny, someone else already told me to watch my back today. (Internally) That guy in the bar… The 「people that talk to themselves」, was he mocking me? No…he didn’t seem the kind of people that would do that, he was talking earnest when telling me to be careful
>Hex: Let’s get going, Pym. That freak must be still around
>Pym: But there was odd about that guy, I can’t put my finger on it but there was something strange that set him apart from the rest of the bar, like… a presence
>Hex: Hey, did you hear me? We either go after Chameleon or get the heck outta here

cont.
>>
>>89333289
>Pym: That’s it! A presence, a freak aura next to him! And I felt that presence before at the burnt farm and when no-nose made his entrance, Is this what Hex was talking about? Was Chameleon the real Stand user?
>Hex: Hey Ant-Man! Are you deaf?
>Pym: Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention… wait, how did you call me? Ant-Man? Heh, not bad

And after that, it could switch to Chameleon encountering Tom in the bar.
>>

The second form (or third, depending of how the story unfolds) needs to be defined; their appearances too, but that's just a cosmetic detail.

I supposed the Ultron-looking Stand appears in the last part of the race when it reaches space, It could be achieved like how is currently listed in the doc (mastering Hex' teachings about the Pacing) or Pym develops it after being contacted one last time by the Hero's spirit.

>He should have already lost the ribs when it happens
Yeah, the order of events in that part hasn't been elaborated yet, but the Corpse parts are extensively hunted down by the henchmen of the Dada party before boarding the Absolution.
>>
>>89338829
So the final battle between Pym and DAVE, are we having that happen before or after boarding the Absolution?

Metalic ant with MCU Ant-Man helment

Either a more elaborate Ultron, Eternity, or a mix of the two

Act 2 could be a small humanoid with either the original Ultron or one of ant man's helmets as its head/torso (like that robot from Dragon Ball GT), and Act 3 will be the first to be fully humanoid. I think the full Ultron should be reserved for Act 4.

>”Back on the main road of the bridge, Aunt May looks to have something in mind, she’s picking up speed, but can she clear that gap?”
>Aunt may hits a portion of the destroyed road positioned as a ramp and activates her boosters to gain enough momentum to reach the other side
cont.
>>
>>89341436
>”Incredible! She’s done it! Now it looks like some of the other racers on the bridge are willing to take the same gamble!”
>Another notable event is Sylvia with Wander and Jack on her back riding one of the cars across the gap and them jumping to swing from a cable when it looks like they won’t make it
>Mr. Nobody turns his gaze to the other side of the bridge where those who didn’t get caught in the blast are

>Hex and Pym are also stopped at the edge of the river why Pym is busily doing something to his Rover
>Goofy has just caught up with the leaders “Garsh, looks like that wrong turn kept me out of some trouble.”
>He’s not slowing down as he heads straight for the river, Pym looks at him and asks “Is he crazy?”
>Suddenly, the two edges of the river connect as if there were no river and just as soon as it disappeared, the river is back with no evidence that it was ever gone aside from Goofy now being on the other side
>Pym blinks slowly and shakes his head “What… just happened?”
>Hex gazes across at Goofy who is now way out in front “Hmm, missed opportunity, that’s what. Interesting tricks some of these racers have.”
>Pym grits his teeth, “He’s not the only one with tricks. I’ve finished the checks.”
>TOM continues with his narration “Holy crap! Somehow Goofy has shot way into the lead, how did he cross the river with such speed?” TOM looks at the river “And he’s not the only one who opted for the water route, it looks like Mr. Pym and Mr. Hex have teamed up in Pym’s Rover which has converted into a hydrofoil!”

And that's where I'm currently at. Just felt the thread could use a content bump.
>>
>>89339120
So, both lose their corpse parts, D.A.V.E. kills Hex and then Pym slices D.A.V.E. in half before boarding the Absolution, in that order? I feel someone else should be alongside D.A.V.E. to haul the corpse parts to the ship.
>>
>>89342952
Well Scud is partnered with DAVE, but he doesn't die until later in the fight against Stardust.
>>
>>89343079
Alright, then Scud and DAVE could ambush Hex and Pym, and DAVE orders Scud to return to the Absolution with the corpse parts once Hex dies and Pym becomes an easy target for him.

Wasn't Crazy Jane also hunting down the parts?
>>
>>89343476
She starts in Rio.
A lot of characters end up hunting the parts.

I don't think Scud would even want to kill Pym and Hex at that point in the story since he's fought alongside them more than he's fought with them by then.
The only reason he's even an enemy is because Mr. Nobody is holding Scud's target hostage.
>>
>>89345628
>I don't think Scud would even want to kill Pym and Hex at that point in the story
There is also Crazy Jane, V, and the Wizard among the remaining operatives of the Dada party, while the party itself only lost two members at that point: the Blue Meanie and Aunt May
>>
>>89346874
At that point?

There's still too much that's undecided before that point so late in the story to know just how many Dadaists are left at that point.
>>
>>89346962
Well, those are the only characters so far that are being retired before Stardust wrecks their shit in space, and I'm sure he kills at least one of them (besides Nobody)
>>
>>89341463
>As the racers close in on the bar, either by land or sea, they all hear a loud whistle in the distance
>It’s 5 o’clock, people are getting off work now
>Pym doesn’t think anything of it until he notices Hex bracing himself
>Suddenly the water begins to churn violently, loud rumblings are heard, the vibrations are like miniature earthquakes, but they have a rhythm to them: footsteps
>Suddenly Pym and Hex find their view has changed, for from the depths a figure has emerged from directly below them; they are now on top of a kaiju’s head
>At head of the pack, Shocker and Dick have ended up right in the middle of the monster traffic heading to the bar for some after work drinks
>Dick swerves trying to avoid the massive legs, he fires a grappling hook from his Mean Machine to latch onto one of the monsters and pulls himself up higher
>The doors to the bar are massive it is situated partially underground so it doesn’t loom too much over the city, there is also a massive pool to one side that serves as the water entrance
>As Shocker enters the bar, he sees the finish line, it’s on top of the bar counter… which is approximately five stories tall, he realizes too late that Dick knew this in advance as he races towards one of the larger monsters heading to the counter
>The bar itself is slowly filling in with all manner of monsters, some human-ish sized, many several stories tall
>Power Puff Girls monsters ("You darn fish balloon!"), Sym-Bionic Titan, and the Firebreather monsters making easy background stuff here
>TOM picks up announcing again “Folks, the leaders have entered the bar, the last obsticale between them and the finish line is scaling the bar counter for the giant kaiju patrons. Our leaders have scaled tails, now they have to go up backs, around the shoulders, down the arms, and then it's a straight shot to the finish line. But will these hard working city monsters be so forgiving to our racers?”
cont.
>>
>>89348910
>As if on cue, the monster Dick was on sneezes fire, the force and shock of the sneeze is enough to send Dick flying and swinging, crashing into the leg of a giant bar chair and knocking him out of a leader position
>”Oh, and there goes Dick Dastardly!” TOM yells over the microphone “He might still be able to recover, but what’s this?! Some racers have already made it up onto the bar counter!”
>”The bar counter is massive, the length of an airplane runway, the finish line looks like it’s made of toothpicks and string in comparison, but there’s someone up there fast approaching it!”
>Close up of Goofy in his rundown car speeding towards it
>Goofy looks rather pleased with himself, he’s waving and even takes both hands off the steering wheel to as part of a preemptive victory celebration
>He doesn’t notice until it’s too late: he smashes right into a big rock sitting on the finish line
>Spongebob is sitting on top of it doing a victory screech surrounding by reporters
>Spongebob “Dirty Dan” Squarepants has claimed first place of the first leg of the race
>Other racers speed by in their vehicles scrambling to avoid the rock and get the best positions they can

And we're finally done with the first leg of the race. Now we're in the first stop location.
>>
>>89348936
Let's see the order of events then:
>Pym and Hex arrive in 20th place
>They are surrounded by the welcoming committee, the prize from Varrick industries is handed to the first places
>Hex gets in a brief scuffle with Shocker, who reminds him that he is untouchable during their stay
>Hex checks the leaderboard and Pym tells him that he plans to start modding the car
>After the end of the ceremony the racers are given accommodations by Stan Lee, then they are free to roam the city
>Somewhere else Shocker is a dick with the other racers
>After some time Dan Backslide arrives to the checkpoint

What should Pym and Hex do inmediatly after crossing the finish line?
>>
>>89350411
Would Hex get a drink?
>>
>>89350543
>He complains that the drinks served in the city are too soft for him
>>
>>89350692
He's able to get a drink in the bar because they mistake him for a monster due to his face.
>>
OK, last bump from me before bed.
>>
>>89350900
He storms out of the hotel complaining about the quality of the booze in the bar, wanders a bit and then decides to try his luck in the Big One bar. Depending on when this takes place, he could spot Backslide before or after striking the deal with Loki.
>>
what's the upgrade of Dan's stand?
>>
>>89355039
It still hasn't been determined.

Did we include the Iron Giant somewhere in this part? I think it would be nice to have him do a role similar to Frollo's since he is canonically known to have admired Superman. He should known something or have any sort of relation with the hero's Spirit. Maybe he would fit best as a corpse guardian actually.

Maybe we can make him appear in the Moon leg or in some aquatic portion of the Europe leg? There's also that Mecha fight in the US leg. These are the only plausible places I can think he could be in now.

It should be something that allows him to fend off the multiple opponents in the parade, either through its destructive power or defensive capability

>>89356162
See above >>89307999, he was suggested to be connected to the Hero's mythos and be part of the robots belief system
>>
>>89356306
I remember something now.

Backslide's upgraded ability was to deflect hostility from himself onto others as long as he is more injured than the other people.
>>
>>89356538
So he will be using the members of the parade as meat shields and try to get the racers kill each other?
>>
>>89356571
No, he will be pissing off everyone he meets and then they'll fight each other since Backslide is already injured.

Loki gets the ball rolling for him at the start though.
>>
>>89356585
How are they gonna break out of his Stand's effect? Someone will get more injured than Dan or is Ghost Rider crashing the parade the thing that puts a stop to his ability?
>>
>>89358442
It might be less an upgrade of Backslide's stand, and more of Loki's demon magic changing what it can do.

So when Ghost Rider crashes the violence parade, Loki books it and takes the power with him, leaving Backslide in the middle of the mess.

Should the racers hear the rumor of the monster Stan Lee in the hotel or when wandering through the city?
>>
>>89363124
Probably when wandering through the city, or while still n the bar.

You know it's a big deal when even the kaiju talk about it.
>>
>>89359790
I'm trying to keep it compact, but I know this is going to be a very long part even with that.

Hex could hear the rumors when he's in the kaiju bar, while other racers could hear it while strolling through the city (probably from one of the Stan Lees)

Does the exchange between Loki and Dan take place before or after Hex arrives to the bar?
>>
>>89381042
Long after.

Loki meets Dan only after Dan has arrived at the bar, and that's like 3 or 4 hours after the time limit is up. Dan is already well and truly shitfaced drunk in a glass of alcohol the size for a kaiju by the time Loki approaches him.

Does he has the ability to smear himself here or he gains it as part of the dealing with Loki?
>>
>>89383980
We haven't used his smearing before this point, or at least I'm not sure if we have.

I've been tempted many times to use the word smear to describe him moving from place to place, but since that ability is linked with the Scopemen, I'm not sure if it's applicable to Dan.

Unless Dan is a Scopeman, but that'd be rather hard to make relevant to the plot since he's not going to be in it much longer.
>>
>>89384236
or in part 8 when one of the characters discusses about the Scopemen and how they can infiltrate society, the silhouette of Dan could appear alongside other characters
>>
>>89384780
There was an idea like that for Bluto, but it feels kind of like a retcon to me.

What should happen with Music Meister after Loki escapes his body? does he kick the bucket?

>>89386970
Any characters from sufficiently old cartoons I think.

As far as I know, he isn't a criminal here, so he could be hauled to one of Strickland's facilities once they examine the eyewitnesses reports and determine that a splinter of the WB was the culprit.

>>89388411
TOM could introduce Varrick and he in turn gives an exposition of the capsules.
>>
>>89388457
Right now the event order is kind of shaky.

I'm going to have some time pass first.
Then TOM does an announcement and the table on the doc is shown on some big TV in the bar.
Pym makes some remarks.
Hex takes note of some names.
The Varrick Capsule is unveiled and awarded to the top 20 I guess.
Stan Lee is introduced.
Kaiju gossip rumors with Jack.
Jiggy asks some guy (Shocker) if he's heard about him and is called a loser.
Sam and Max meet Jack when they catch his name when he parts with Wander and Sylvia.
Hex stays in the bar as Pym goes to work on his car.
Stan Lees everywhere in the city.

Time lapse to later that night with Backslide arriving at the bar.
>>
>Time passes
>TOM gets on the mic again “And that’s it folks, the first leg of the Wacky Races is over, here are our top contenders!”
>The results of the race are displayed on one of the giant flat screen TVs mounted on the bar’s walls
table from the doc goes here
>Hex and Pym are looking at the results
>Pym is disappointed “Dang, I could’ve done better.”
>Hex shrugs and takes a better look at the display
>There’s a close up on the names Mojo Jojo and Mean Angel, who Hex makes a note of

>TOM’s voice is back “Now it’s time for the mystery sponsor prize! After each leg of the race is cleared, one of our sponsors will award qualifying racers with an extra prize! It could be anything folks! Weapons, vehicles, luxury cruise tickets, we won’t know until it’s announced! So without any further delay, let me hand the mic over to Mr. Varrick himself of Varrick Industries!”
>A man with a darker complexion, a pencil mustache, and a FABULOUS blue coat comes on screen “Thanks TOM, love what you do!” He does a snap and a point “Ladies, gentlemen, and whatever that is over there!” He points to something off camera that we don’t see “Today I’ve got something truly special for you!” He reaches into his pocket and produces a totally unremarkable looking device, it has suction cups and clamps “Behold, the Varrick Capsule! If you’re like most people then you’ve asked yourself at one point in your life ‘Where did I park my car?’ ‘Damn, this piano is heavy!’ or ‘I seem to have misplaced my refrigerator.’ Well not anymore! Do the thing!”
>The camera pans over to a lady in a Vegas showgirl getup who latches the Varrick Capsule onto a car and pushes the button, the car disappears in a puff of smoke and in its place is a marble with a button on it
>Varrick shouts “Again!” and the process is repeated to a yacht, an airplane, and a refrigerator
cont
>>
>>89389346
>Varrick picks up the marbles and is spinning them around his fingers effortlessly “Any object, any size, reduced to the size and weight of your average marble, and when you want it back, just push a button and” Varrick pushes the button on one of the marbles and tosses it away from him, with a poof, a refrigerator appears, which Varrick opens and gets something out of it, while he’s busy pulling things out of the fridge to show how no damage at all was done, his assistant continues for him
>“We at Varrick Industries have been developing this technology for years, but it wasn’t until President Mr. Nobody cut thorough the legal red tape that we became permitted to sell this product to you. We hope that the top 20 racers will enjoy and make use of their free sample of this product for the remainder of the race.”

Not really feeling the Varrick dialogue I have for this. Any suggestions?

should we fill those empty spaces in the leaderboard?

I suppose we should. Any ideas?

How's the point allocation for it? I wanted to make it really skewed towards only those who get really close to first.
>>
>>89391969
I think there is some minor racers in the current character list that don't have any role, they could fill those positions. And there is also the characters in the Stand doc in case we need them.
>>
>>89392159
I'll leave it up to other anons to pick who can fill in those other places then. I suppose Jiggy, Crazy Jane, Robot Man, and some others who are prominent later could go on there.

There are thousands of racers, so we can always pull more out of our asses when we need them, but it's still better to include anyone we're going to use sooner rather than right before we need them.
>>
>>89393081
Some of those additional racers may not even appear outside of the classification tables, like Sloop John B or Georgie Porgie in SBR.
>>
>>89394609
We still need to fill in the slots I guess.

And this is a page 10 bump.

Alright, let's expand on Tom's scene in CN City. I have no idea how is Chameleon's accent rendered, so feel free to edit that part:

>The Chameleon sneaks into a dim-lit bar, running away from his failed assassination attempt
>Chameleon: Dammit! Ze mission was easy, too easy…how they managed to beat us? *cough* that wimp and his robot… I shouldn't have bothered to hire him
>As he slips through the corridors, one of the patrons spots him and starts following him from a distance
>Chameleon is trying to find a safe spot to pull a new disguise, but the bar is playing some smooth jazz which is getting on his nerves
>Chameleon: All I need is jus a clever disguise, but this music es driving me nuts... swing music, jazz... PHOOEY to zat!
>“Déjà vu, I heard those same words a long time ago…with that same disgusting accent”
> The voice startles him and he turns his head to see the source of it: a cat in a zoot suit standing at the other end of the corridor
>“I don’t like your style, chump, and the way you sneak around tells me you are bad news”
>Chameleon regains his composure “Just a pathetic street thug, he doesn’t know the trouble he got into”
>Chameleon’s Stand manifests and lunges forward, the cat remains motionless staring at Chameleon
>Chameleon: As I expected, he can’t see my 「Eleanor Rigby」. He’s defenseless against its attack!
>Just as the Stand is about to strike him, the cat calmly raises his view towards it “That’s one mean-looking Stand you got there, fella, but ain't the worst I’ve faced”
>Chameleon is shocked “H-he…he can see it!?”
>A ghostly arm holding a trumpet materializes out of thin air and blocks the attack of Chameleon’s Stand, the arm is connected to Tom the cat, who is now glowing with power
>Tom: Seems that every time I try to retire, one of you freaks crawl out of the woodwork. Never mind, let's do this 「ONE MORE TIME」!

cont.
>>
>>89399018
>At his user’s command, the Stand fully manifests; a wolf dressed in a zoot suit now looms over him
>Chameleon: This isn't happening! Why a Stand user appeared just now? 「ELEANOR…!
>Before he could recall his Stand, 「One More Time」 blast 「Eleanor Rigby」’s face point-blank and Chameleon is knocked back in turn
>Tom: Look on the bright side, I’m gonna add some details to that ugly face of yours
>Chameleon: Nyet, nyet, NYEET!! I can’t fail a mission, I can’t…
>Tom grabs Chameleon by the neck and lifts him as 「One More Time」 readies its trumpet
>Tom: However, I don't wanna make a mess in the bar. Let’s take this outside, shall we?
>To be Continued

and that's it for now
>>
Morning Bump
>>
>>89399040
So next we see him, the Chameleon is beaten and unconscious on the floor with Tom making a phone call to Strickland to come collect this guy since he doesn't have time to get involved seeing how he needs to go pick up his kids from school.

The only other time we should see Tom after that is in the crowd with his kids watching the Iron Vulture depart.
>>
>>89402488
While he is in the crowd, Tom could get a call from Strickland after they find Chameleon's corpse
>>
>>89403602
That's too much pull.
That'd be like if Sean Connery were in Indiana Jones 4, he wasn't because then there would've been too much expectation for him to tag along on the adventure.
>>
Chameleon is killed off-screen or right after Tom leaves the scene?
>>
>>89405119
He's killed after he's loaded into a cop bus or a Strickland bus, Aunt May's stand appears and forces itself down his throat.

Although he has clemency, no one recognizes him as a racer since his face is different from the face he was racing as.
>>
>>89405534
I think it should be a Strickland bus. Does Tom leaves the place immediately or only after the Strickland guys arrive to take Chameleon? If it's the former, Aunt May's Stand could kill Chameleon before the bus arrives.
>>
>>89407620
It should be after he's loaded onto the bus/armored van, just to show that nowhere is safe.
>>
>>89408137
Ok, so the scene would go like this:

>Tom appears with Chameleon bound and gagged
>He dumps him in an alley and makes the call to Strickland
>An Armored Van designed to contain Stand users (the tech was shown in part 6) arrives
>Tom has a brief exchange with the Strickland workers and leaves to pick up his children
>At one point during the journey, Chameleon awakes inside the Van and starts planning his escape
>However, Aunt May's Stand managed to get inside the vehicle
>Aunt May berates him for failing the mission and the consecuences of falling in Strickland's custody
>The Stand strangles Chameleon, then turn into poisonous dough and forces itself into his mouth
>The driver notices this and stops immediately, alerting Strickland that the prisoner was just killed

Anything else? What's Tom's current standing with Strickland?
>>
>>89409189
Tom fell out of touch with them for a while after Hank died and the whole organization went to shit, but Bobby reached out to all the old contacts to reestablish old bonds and strengthen the organization's position.

Though that's material I can't see any way to cover in this part... unless it comes from Navis.
>>
>>89379851

My name is Stan Lee and I welcome you all to San Fransokyo! You have just completed the first leg of your epic adventure, what better way to relax, unwind, and prepare for your coming trials than with a complementary room at any of my hotels across the city? Whether you’ve come for the race, the sights, the food, the celebrities, the or the most exciting thing of all – me! I know each of you are destined to have an amazing time here, no matter how brief your stay!”
>As Stan Lee’s message ends, the top 20 have finished collecting their Varrick Capsules, Pym is staring at his with a puzzled expression
>Hex glares over at Shocker who glares right back, feeling his neck
>The speakers kick on again “And that concludes today’s events. All qualifying participants who wish to continue in the race please meet back here before 9am tomorrow morning. As a reminder, clemency is in effect for all participants in the race. Thank you, and have a wonderful stay.”
>Shocker gets a smug look about him “You hear that? Try to lay a finger on me, cowboy, and the one behind the bars will be YOU!” as he marches off
>Pym is still staring at the capsule “I’m gonna go… modify my Rover.” and walks off absentmindedly to move his car somewhere else
>Hex looks around “I need a drink.”

>Pan over to some other customers in the bar, some big monsters are having a chat
>”Have you heard? That thing struck again.”
>”Yeah, I heard the body was drained dry, nothing but a husk left.”
>”I hear it’s some sort of soul sucker. After the WB crashed, I thought those guys got out of the business.”
>”Whatever it is, it can’t keep getting away with this.”
>Down at their feet are Wander, Sylvia, and Jack, who is taking notes on the conversation
cont.
>>
>>89410106
>”Interested in rumors, huh? Well have you heard about the other major rumor swirling around town?”
>Jack turns the page in his notebook "Which other rumor?"
>"That the One and Only Jiggy has entered the race and is now in the city!"
>Jiggy strikes a pose, light seems to radiate from him, a narration box appears reading “Jiggy – Bollywood Super Star”
>The still is ruined by Shocker who pushes the group aside as he makes his was to the exit "Never heard of that loser!"
>Jiggy hangs his head low in defeat while Wander puts a hand on his back, a nearby trashcan the size of a dumpster (it’s scaled for the size of the regulars in the bar) catches fire

Should Sam and Max be familiar with Jiggy's movies? I'm debating if Jiggy should also hit it off with Sam and Max like how Jack does.

>>
>>89410997
I think Max would be the one to know, not Sam, but I'm not as familiar with Sam and Max as I'd like to be writing this.

OK, so Sam and Max approach them after hearing Jiggy.
Jiggy is at first happy someone knows him, then horrified that Max is familiar with ALL of his filmography.
Jiggy makes an excuse, Sylvia makes an excuse and grabs Wander, and Jack is left there with Sam and Max.
Then I guess they can talk about how they did in the race and Jack tells them his real name, this time Sam recognizes him as one of his favorite crime novelist writers and they hit it off.

Then we need to showcase all the Stan Lees in the city.
>>

Tom has a family now; unless the world is ending, it's not his problem.
>>
I just had another dumb idea.

So Tom calls in Strickland about this guy who might be talking to himself, they pick him up and something kills him before they can take Chameleon to wherever, this sends the alarms ringing.
The incident on Fantastic Island happens, somehow word of what happened to Snake-Eyes reaches them and that puts them in super high alert, like ancient enemy came back from the deal alert, The Wizard now has attention from Strickland on him, but they can't link him to Daffy, so Navis is stuck with the additional mission of watching him.

ACME Portable Holes.

Something they managed to make by studying Plucky's stand.

Not sure how to use it in the story yet.

Checkpoint 1 - Varrick Capsule from Varrick Industries
2 - Pillar Propane from Strickland
3 - Portable Holes from ACME (with a secret bonus prize from the Dada party to the first place winner: a bag of stand jawbreakers)
4 - (Spain, cruise ship) ??? from John D. Rockerduck
5 - (Paris, France) ??? from ???
6 - (Robot refugee town, Old Country) ??? from ???
7 - (Cape Suzette) ??? from ???
8 - The Wishing Star

Mr. Nobody probably had to shorten the race a bit after the whole Tulio thing, so there are only 8 checkpoints in total.

>He is actually in cahoots with Gatlocke; after he removes the jawbreakers powering the captive robots, Ratchet turns them into spare parts and cyborg augmentations
>>
>>89426453
Oh, how sinister. I like it.
>>
So Gatlocke has actually succeeded in harvesting some jawbreakers already.

I wonder why he hasn't eaten one himself yet then.
>>
>>89427547
Well, there is the possibility of dying after eating one of them. Besides, Gatlocke must be content with all the money he makes by selling them in the black market.
>>
>>89427838
Gatlocke, content? He's the type who always wants more.

Then he gets wind of some other stand granting thing hidden away in the pit.
>>
>>89428264
That's the other thing, with the Corpse part entering into play he doesn't need to risk his life with a jawbreaker.
>>
>>89428550
I suppose he could be examining a jawbreaker when we first see him, musing on if it's worth it to eat it or not.
>>
>>89429217
Does he have any living subordinate or a prisoner to test it? He may later wonder if people actually buy that crap to get powers or is just to poison other people, but then he reminds that as long as he gets paid he doesn't care what they do with them.
>>
>>89429700
Gatlocke in the show he came from in his introduction episode was trying to steal a batch of unstable nanites, not to sell, but to use on himself so he'd get EVO powers.

I think he'd hang onto one of the jawbreakers for himself waiting for a suitably dramatic time to eat it. He's flashy and showy.

He's kind of unhinged.

Yeah, Gatlocke would first need to be forced into retreat by a bluff.

So, Ratchet is the one that tips off Gatlocke about the racers staying in the town and arranges stuff to facilitate the raid?
>>
>>89437298
Yeah.

I suspect there will be backstabbing going on. Who does it to whom first is up in the air.
>>
>>89437472
If shit goes south, Gatlocke may spill the beans and reveal his connection with Ratchet, or his involvement could be discovered through other means. What happens with him after being exposed is to be decided.

Should there be other people/robots allied with Ratchet?
>>
>>89437929
Ratchet probably feels he's never going to get out of the shitter without stepping on some heads. I don't think any of the other robots in town should know about his homicidal intentions.
Scud should be an old rival of his, maybe they were friends at one point, but then some bad... "oil" went down between them and Scud left to make his own way in the world while Ratchet was still stuck in town. It could be Ratchet had the idea to kill their fellow robots and sell their jawbreaker cores for profit, but Scud drew the line there and Ratchet got him kicked out somehow.

In the end, I think Gatlocke should kill Ratchet before either escaping with one last jawbreaker, or being killed himself by someone.
>>
>>89438431
I was thinking that Ratchet's plan could be an attempt to recreate the WB's grip over the Old Country, with the robot town as the centerpoint of his own empire. He may even exert a degree of control over the town's goverment, allowing him to get rid of anyone that poses a threat to his plans.
>>
>>89439639
That'll be a fun section to write. There's also the Atomic Super Man faction who are the founders of the settlement.
The robot town is still the part of this part I'm most looking forward to writing.

But it's still very far off, and I haven't felt motivated at all today to write anything.
>>
>>89439709
There is also the robot church that could play a role in that section, especially if the Iron Giant is involved somehow.

It is going to play a role, as probably the main sense of community they have.

The Church of Deadlock.

So, the prize at the end of a stage only happens in the first one?
>>
>>89443096
I think it should get showcased during the fight that takes place before that, or even sooner.

He has to make people think they're looking at a reflection of themselves before his stand can steal their faces.

In a way, the method to activate it is very similar to [La Cucaracha], so that extra parallel should piss Tom off even more if it comes up.
>>

Damn, what a shitty living. I don't wanna know what would happen if they discover Deadlock's true identity
>>
>>89451467
Well, things get considerably better for them after the racers arrive and trash Ratchet.

All part of Mr. Nobody's karma plan.
>>
What's gonna be DAVE's connection to the robot town? Did the robots from Belle Reve dragged HARDAC all the way there?
>>
>>89452210
They put him together from the wreckage for whatever reason.
>>
>>89452282
From what I recall, the idea was that HARDAC became self-aware after all those scans Von Drake performed on the prison's inmates, with Ludwig's personality as the main one. The robots that followed Deadlock could have noticed that and carried HARDAC with them, turning it into a robot after they established in a permanent settlement.
>>
>>89452562
No, no, HARDAC becoming self-aware was part of the ruse to make Von Drake go crazy.

The robots might've noticed the mangled remains and thought it was one of them, so they repaired it and it became the robot it is now.
>>
>>89452784
That's what it says in the doc, it has the intelligence and personality of all the inmates it scanned (and that it awakened inside HARDAC's remains), may have not become self-aware at that point though.

Whatever it was, he probably dispatched his builders and added their memories to his databank
>>
>>89452864
So he was never in the town to begin with.

He just "woke up" in the wreckage of the jail after his remains were rebuilt into a body and went from there.
>>
OK, where the hell are we actually at.
First checkpoint, what kind of shit should be going on in the city before the plot with Loki kicks in?

What kind of shit do Sam, Max, and Jack go do? Should they just walk off together than then a time lapse takes place to Dan arriving at the bar?
>>
>>89454182
They stroll through the city a bit, discussing how Jack is a writer that has yet to sell out, then they find a Stan Lee, then another Stan Lee, and so on. I don't know what else should happen there before Backslide arrive to the checkpoint, maybe Pym is tinkering a bit with the capsule and his car..
>>
>>89453060
Is it relevant who rebuilt him as a robot?

>While they stroll through the city, the racers meet Stan Lee in several locations performing various jobs, there is always one Stan Lee among the crowd

I'm really stumped here since it involves Sam and Max's rather colorful dialogue, which is a step beyond me with my level of familiarity with them.

I was checking the doc and there is a small error in the part with the bullet train: Thomas Diesel's Stand is the muscular blue punchghost from the comic, the train Stand was someone else's.

>>89455464
Seems that his true motivation is finding out who he really is, not knowing that he was originally the HARDAC
>>
>>89459337
I still don't know how those people are going to come into play for that section.

Hmm... was the thing about slamming Big Guy Nobody into a mountain included on the doc?
>>
>>89459881
Could be a group of racers teaming up as the crew of the enemy train, with Thomas Diesel as the train's guard.

>was the thing about slamming Big Guy Nobody into a mountain included on the doc?
Nope, we haven't decided if that goes in the middle of the arc or as a flashback on their way to Rio
>>
>>89460410
Well, we could always say they are racers who have teamed up to take out the leaders (in points) to better their odds.
>>
>>89460691
Maybe they were in a position similar to Hex when he lost his horse and they allied with the owner of the train to stay in the race, pooling their Stands abilities to operate the train. Which means that along with fending off the assassins, Hex and Pym must defend the bullet train from a Wheel of Fortune-like Stand.

Yeah, last bump from me before bed as well.

Really need someone who is good at Sam and Max dialogue to help out here.

What is currently missing is who are the other members of the crew and who is the driver of the enemy train
>>
>>89469453
It's that guy from Thomas the Tank Engine.

Though that whole sequence is still too far away to properly plan out.
>>
I got an idea: what if the robot town was built with the remains of the Iron Giant? As the robots gathered around the ruins of the Looniversity, they were unknowingly carrying his pieces among the building materials, and the Iron Giant's consciousness is lingering in the city (in a role similar to Danny in part 4).
>>
>>89472303
So where did they get the parts from? Why were the parts there?

Did the Iron Giant once try to retrieve a part of the corpse and got blown up by the WB?
>>
>>89473217
Could be like in the movie and he was destroyed when stopping a threat to the earth, the pieces were found by some groups and they carried them around like relics (making a parallel with the Hero's corpse)
>>
>>89473680
Or he might've been the original guardian of the arm the WB got.
>>
>>89473787
So the Iron Giant was destroyed to obtain the Hero's arm and the WB took his pieces to study them in the Looniversity? His self-repair ability was probably damaged or removed by the WB's scientists, which prevents him to reform himself.
>>
>>89475034
Depending on how involved we want the Iron Giant to be, he could end up as the protector of the town by the end of the arc if he ends up repaired.
>>
>>89475265
Or he briefly awakens through the pieces embedded in the town, giving support to the defenders during the raid; after that, its inhabitants swear to find the remaining parts, being convinced that the Iron Giant is the Hero of legend.
>>
>>89457939
How many times should they encounter a Stan Lee?
>>
>>89476789
Are there any arc numbers associated with Stan Lee?
>>
>>89476832
Don't think so.
>>
>>89477130
Then we should go with probably less than 10, just enough to get the point across that this guy seems to be everywhere.

They go to the park, Stan Lee is selling balloons.
They go into a dark alleyway, Stan Lee is cop who gives them directions.
They get in a cab, Stan Lee is the driver.
They go into a cafe, Stan Lee is sitting at the counter.
>>
>>89477402
There is also the Stan Lee whose cup of coffee is knocked out by Backslide, and there could be one caught in the chaos of the parade
>>
>>89478947
Pretty much every crowd shot needs to have one Stan Lee in it.
>>
>>89422767
Since the holes have limited uses, the racersholes that won them should be wary of not wasting them all at once. Pym and Hex could use theirs while being chased by the assassins in Europe.
After Tulio's arc, there are probably few of those portable holes remaining (or none).
>>
>>89481966
They could pull some Roadrunner tactics using them.

If anyone still has holes by the time they're in space, they will be game breakingly lethal.
>>
>>89485450
Perhaps is Yellowjacket the one that manages to keep one last hole when they reach the space stage, he is pretty much outclassed there.
>>
>>89486031
And that hole gets placed on The Wizard's Orbal bubble at a critical moment in high fight against Super Serenity.
>>
Should Loki get involved in the fight before Ghost Rider arrives?

All those alliterations could prevent him to pick a single one, so he just jumps all over place. He may end up briefly in the crime scene while out of control.

>>89520528
Are there any embarrassing facts about him?
>>
>>89522781
I don't think so, at least not as embarrassing as being pounded in the butt by a hippo.

Sam could be carrying one of Yellojacket's books and he recognize him from the the picture in the back cover
>>
>>89522849
Maybe he remembers an earlier version of his pseudonym costume.
>>
>>89522866
>Do all writers need to dress up like there are Liberace's impersonators?
>Quiet you, you already had your time with the pornstar, now is my time for fanaticism
>>
>>89523133
OK, that gives me an idea for how to proceed. I'll work on that later.

In the mean time, while I was trying to find Yellowjacket comics online again, turns out someone made this since the last time I went looking.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm5Mfs5dnLc
>>
>>89523725
>He ask Vince why he doesn't use the name yellowjacket anymore
>Cue Pym humming while working with his car
>>
>>89524343
Then after that cut away they can already be outside of the bar with Sam talking about their various cases and the Stan Lees marching through the background.
>>
Which is a title that sounds like it's something Vince would have written earlier in his career: "Crime School" or "Lead Coffin".
>>
>>89524724
>Vince looks at Stan Lee standing in a corner
>"I swear I saw that guy before"
>His gaze move across the street and spots Stan Lee in a hotdog stand
>"wait a second..."
>He quickly looks at the opposite corner, the previous Stan Lee is gone

>>89526180
the second one
>>
>>89488941
>Sam scratches his abnormally small chin “Say, you look familiar. Have you ever been involved with any illegal pie smuggling rings or underground role playing tournaments?”
>Jack shakes his head “Nah, just crime fiction. Though my old editor back at Dark Detective did once tell me to go get involved in that sort of stuff.”
>Sam has an epiphany “Dark Detective? Hold on, what did you say your name was?” Sam is now reaching into his breast pocket for something
>“I didn’t. Name’s Vince Harley.” Jack reaches out his hand for the introduction handshake
>Sam shakes his hand and pulls out a book from his pocket titled ‘The Lead Coffin’ and starts gushing “I knew I recognized you!” as he opens the dust jacket to a picture of the author: Vince in his Yellowjacket outfit
>Max looks at this and asks “Do all writers need to dress up like there are Liberace's impersonators?”
>Sam: “Quiet you, you already had your time with the pornstar, now is my time for fanaticism.” and turns back to Vince “So Mr. Harley, why didn’t you enter the race under your regular pseudonym Yellowjacket?”
>Jack closes his eyes and inhales slowly

>Cut to Pym humming while working with his car

>Cut back to Jack, Sam, and Max, who have now exited the bar and are walking around the city, Jack has his notepad out again

OK, so what kind of nonsecular story about a past case should Sam be regaling him with?

I'm asking since I don't know if it should be a call back to one of their actual cases or something just made up for this.

And also because I'm really bad at writing Sam and Max lines.

Since the racers think Dan is the soul eating monster, does the deal with Loki alters Dan in some other way besides changing his Stand?
>>
>>89529410
Maybe he also gains some horns?

Depends on the nature of the deal and how Loki is giving him power.

>Dan gains the ability to smear after sealing the deal
>He is unaware that he now looks like he's made of rubber
>>
>>89531179
So he's smearing around insulting people and every time they try to punch him he drops a frame out of existence and they punch someone else?
>>
>>89532902
I don't think he should have the same abilities of a Scopeman, but he could have the ability to stretch himself.
>>
>>89533230
The ability to stretch himself around attacks?
>>
>>89534312
Yeah, something like the perfect frame of Kuzco in the climax of part 2, but with less power.
>>
>>89534751
So just smooth movement?

I don't think a demon should be able to grant someone that much power unless it was a really fucked up deal.
Like so fucked up that Dan's soul being consumed by Stan Lee is a lesser fate than what he would've faced otherwise.
>>
Any particular way the racers should feel about a soul eating monster?

Do any of them have connections or history with things like that?
>>
>>89538278
Pym will probably dismiss the notion as bullshit, while Hex will believe that such thing exist. Which racers are gonna end up fighting Dan?
>>
>>89538527
Sam and Max will, not sure who else yet.

I think Jack hangs back and watches. He can hold his own in a fight, but a huge brawl isn't something he can break up on his own unless he has a lot of bees, which he has yet to obtain.
>>
Well a bump before bed.

Hoping more people will give input to help this along since I'm getting all kinds of writers block when it comes to Sam and Max.
>>
>>89536863
So, he's gonna be some sort of walking putty that absorbs blows and scurries through the battle?
>>
Page 10 bump
>>
What else should happen in the Iron Vulture while flying to Fantastic Island?
>>
>>89542545
No idea, still not sold on whatever power Loki gives him.

>>89545560
What do you think should happen?
>>
>>89546045
Right now there is only the incident with the enlarged bug, perhaps Hex continues teaching Pym about Pacing while they are onboard the ship.
>>
>>89546798
That'd be a good place to fit in another lesson, like Pym needing to use pacing to fix his fuck up the first time he uses his stand power and how it makes him realize he can't just rely on one source of power.
>>
>>89547388
How many lessons should Pym learn and when they should take place? We already have the first one at the start of the race that involves sensing the Narrative, and another one onboard the Iron Vulture, I guess one of the lessons involve learning to make a disruption.
>>
>>89548168
One of the lessons needs to be sometime around Nowhere.
>>
>>89549315
There is also the encounter with Watt's robot, where Pym puts into practice what he learned so far, and Punisher in Cn City. Is Frank gonna be a Melody user or a Pacing user?
>>
>>89550384
I think Frank is going to be a pacing user who also incorporates some melody.

And Hex is the one who fights Frank, he defeats him remembering an observation Pym made about the weapons Frank uses, though Pym isn't actually in that fight.
>>
>>89550960
Should be during that fight that the ability of disruption is first introduced or should be before?
>>
>>89551864
I think Hex will mention disruptions to Pym for the first time on their way to Aberdale when explaining to Pym how the weapons managed to function until Pym pointed out that they shouldn't be able to do that.
>>
So, how involved should Hex and Pym be with the events unfolding and San Fransokyo?
>>
>>89553441
Well, Hex heard the kaiju talking about the monster, he could feel compelled to hunt it down if that means receiving a bounty.
>>
>>89553783
Or his pacing ability kicks in and he knows that he'll become involved with this and would rather face it on his own terms than have it come to him.
>>
I still don't think they'll be that involved in this fight.

But it'll at least give them an opportunity to observe stand powers from the perspective of someone who can's see them.
Though I don't think they'll meet Ghost Rider.
>>
>>89538853
So, the exposition about Stands goes before, during or after the fight?
>>
>>89556142
It'll happen right around here >>89501071 is what I'm thinking.
>>
>>89556130
Jiggy is probably dragged by an unseen force to the top of one of those turbines, when he spots Loki he wonders what the fuck is going on there, then he and the turbine burst into flames, becoming Ghost Rider.
>>
>>89557522
I was thinking he was up there just because. No explanation needed, just looking over the city before he spots Loki and his head bursts into flames.
>>
>>89528524
I'm getting sorely tempted to just take a line straight from Poker Night at the Inventory 2.

>Sam: No, really! Max's super-ego had a collosal hissy fit and turned Max into some sort of rampaging elder god and our friend Sybil was thirteen months pregnant, and Stinky and Sal were making out and... Wow, it really does sound crazy when I say it out loud.
>Max: I still believe you Sam.

Because I've been stuck at this part for over a day now with no one jumping in.

>Max: “I still believe you Sam.”
>Yellowjacket is writing it down as fast a possible "...thirteen months pregnant… well, this will need some editing before handing the manuscript."
>Max is babbling “And when you do eventually sell out or those pinheads at Hollywood finally run dry another well, we’ll be able to file a legal suit against them and rake in the royalties!”
>Vince looks at Stan Lee standing at a crosswalk "Isn’t that…" his gaze moves across the street and spots Stan Lee manning a hotdog stand "Wait a second…" He quickly looks back to the crosswalk, the previous Stan Lee is gone
>They go to the park, Stan Lee is selling balloons.
>They go into a dark alleyway lead by Max “Time to find out what the criminal element of this town looks like.” while menacingly rubbing his hands together
>A voice calls to them from behind “Greetings, citizens.” It’s Stan Lee dressed as a cop “You’re all entered in that big race, aren't ya? This isn’t the best place to be hanging around, there’s some crazy guy on the loose.”
>Sam, Max, and Jack walk out of the alleyway while cop Stan Lees hails a cab for them
>The cab rolls up and cop Stan Lee holds the door for them, after he shuts it Max exclaims “Thwarted! I was hoping to get a couple of homeless guys to fight to the death over this pretzel.”
>The cab driver turns and asks them “Where to, boys?” It’s Stan Lee again
>The cab stops at a cafe where they all exit and watch the cab drive off before going inside where they see Stan Lee sitting at the counter drinking a mug of coffee
>Sam comments “That must be a popular look in this city.”

Well, it's what I got.
>>
>>89562054
>Some number of hours have passed, the sun has set and the city is illuminated by all the bright lights
>Back at the Big One bar, Dan Backslide has finally made his way to the checkpoint, He's chard, roughed up, and has a black eye with a steering wheel still stuck around his neck
>“Is this the check point for the Wacky Race?” he asks wearily
>The giant bartender is cleaning a massive glass “Sorry pal, the time limit expired hours ago.”
>Dan has a dull look of shock before falling face forward on the counter where he begins to flail his arms and legs yelling “It’s not fair! Confound those racers! Oh, how I hate them! I hate them! I hate them!”
>“Oh, you are a sad little goblin, this one's on the house.” The bartender puts down a massive glass of some sort of alcoholic beverage which is clearly sized for a kaiju
>Dan lets rip "CONFOUND THESE RACERS, THEY DRIVE ME TO DRINK!" and promptly takes a swim in the glass to drown away his problems.

Alright, now once Dan is right properly shitfaced, that's when Loki enters the plot.
How are we doing that? Does he just take a seat next to him? Is he the guy Dan has been unloading his words onto for the past however many hours before making a suggestion?
>>
>>89562375
He starts the bar brawl before or after engaging in the conversation with Dan?
>>
>>89562721
After Dan signs the contract, that's when Loki starts the bar brawl.
>>
>>89562823
So he first hears a disembodied voice, then Loki appears from behind some object and takes a seat next to Dan, convincing him to make a deal with him.
>>
>>89563343
Or he just takes a seat next to him and stays silent until Dan is sufficiently inebriated.

Still not sure what Loki should say or how it should be worded.

Maybe Loki causes the fight in the bar as a demonstration for Dan

>>89571834
I don't know, the images in the archive doesn't appear, so finding the storytime is useless

>>89573335
Dan might not need one depending on how drunk he is.

I'm not really familiar with Marvel's Loki, so I'm not sure what his personality is like.

>>89414337
Does Loss play a part in the narrative at any time?
>>
is this a jo jo reference?
>>
>>89575057
Do you mean in this part or as a whole?
>>
>>89575358
Aside from Dib showing up as a lunatic, no, not in this part.

Though with how we've established STAR leylines to work, it could now be something that reshapes those.
>>
>>89576987
In the old pastebin, Loss was supposed to "collapse the fabric of Creation and returning it to a blank canvas"; since Pacing end up revealing the existence of the white space between panels, Ethan's Stand could become a key to access that void.
>>
>>89577775
Or it just forces the leylines to reshape themselves into that stupid pattern forever, creating gaps to the void everywhere.
>>
>>89579457
So it's like DIO's plan, but instead of achieving Heaven, Ethan will use his Stand to attain LOSS.

Also, one of his abilities seems to involve reshaping his surroundings:
>If Ethan is seriously threatened, 「LOSE YOURSELF」activates a sub-ability. It will morph the surrounding area into one that symbolizes Loss. The target will go through a four-stage process in which they defeat Ethan at the end and then lose something. This will start off as something low-key, such as a button on their shirt or their train of thought. If they continue to pursue Ethan, they are launched into another sequence that is similar but different. This cycle will repeat itself endlessly, with the victim going through increasingly abstracted scenarios. The rules of nature in these dimensions are fueled by Loss, and so even if Ethan loses his life within them, it will only serve to fuel the fire
>>
>>89580535
Funny how well that works with the concept of STAR leylines.
>>
>>89574366
He's a trickster god, he would probably sweet-talk Dan, telling him what he wants to hear, and fool him into thinking that the deal doesn't have any downsides.
>>
>>89583530
Maybe he's pretending to be a therapist while Dan floats in his drink before making a "professional suggestion" to him and asking him to sign for the treatment?
>>
>>89582442
Yeah, is not the first time that some old, unrelated idea fits with the newer ones.

>>89584475
So he's gonna be so drunk that he won't even know who was he talking with?
>>
>>89586419
Yeah, so dunk that he doesn't even know what's happening until after he signs the contract.

No less legal than a Las Vegas wedding.
>>
>>89586507
>He dismisses everything that happened as a drunken hallucination
>Only after a while he realizes what he has done, and he likes every bit of it
>>
>>89587299
At what point should he have this realization?
>>
>>89587650
Maybe after causing some damage with his new ability, then the parade led by Loki arrives as backup/distraction.
>>
>>89562375
>Hex is exiting the bar around this time complaining to himself “The drinks in this city are too soft.”
>As he exits another person enters, one wearing a flamboyant green outfit and sporting decorative horns
>Hex watches the man go into the bar and then continues on his way “Well shit, looks like it’s gonna be a busy night.”

>Dan Backslide is good and properly shitfaced now, you wouldn’t be able to know his usual skin color is green just by looking anymore. He’s mumbling to himself now while someone about the same size is now sitting next to him “D-drat them! *hic Double drat them all! I was *hic I was cheated!”
>The man sitting next to him speaks up “Really now?” Dan turns to him with his face slouched on the counter with his legs still in the giant glass, the man is holding up a mug, we get a close up of his face “That makes two of us.”
>A narration box appears that reads “LOKI” and nothing else

I feel like the ending music to part 7 would start there.
I'm not sure of the pacing around here. Maybe we should have it so that next we see, Dan is already causing chaos and when he begins to sober up he remembers where he got this new power from and it flashes back to Loki starting the bar brawl.

What's a better flow?

When should we reveal Loki was a loser in the elections to Nobody?
>>
>>89588179
>When should we reveal Loki was a loser in the elections to Nobody?
Could be some time after his plan with Dan is foiled, maybe when he hires Punisher
>>
>>89588949
Or maybe someone recognizes him.
>>
And page 10 bump.
>>
So I'm thinking that right after Dan realizes what's going on and what he's done >>89587299 he then recalls Loki back at the bar in a flashback where he signs the contract and Loki starts the bar fight.

Then Dan wonders where that guys is and on cue, in come Loki marching a parade.

Also last bump before bed.
>>
>>89593278
Now that you mention it, there is also the scene where he possessed Music Meister and hijacked the parade before that.
>>
>>89594817
I'm still trying to work out the pacing for the next parts to see what flows best.
>>
>>89597760
The scene where Loki intercepts the parade could be before Dan is shown stirring shit.
>>
>>89598961
So... hmm.

Next we see Sam, Max, and Jack still on their night on the town, then in comes Dan like a twister causing problems in the streets.
Sam and Max leap into action.
Elsewhere, Loki hijacks a parade by possessing the Music Meister (Loki's horns becomes visible on his head when he does this).
Dan fights Sam and Max, one good hit causes Dan to sober up a little and begin wondering what he's doing, then he recalls Loki in the bar, a contract he signed, and Loki talking shit about King Kong Sr. to start a fight.
Then in comes the parade, Sam and Max begin fighting Loki (is there were he curses them into dames?)
Jiggy is up on one of the floating turbines and notices the commotion, spots the horns and stuff catches fire (might be interesting if the turbine suddenly spinning very fast causes a localized power outage so when Ghost Rider lands, he's the only thing anyone can see and it's fucking terrifying)
Loki bails, Dan gets a glimpse of the penance stare and tries to bail, then runs into Stan Lee.

Is that the general event order we're going with, or does it need more revision?
Of course I know more things happen than I've listed.
I still don't know how Hex and Pym are involved with any of this, if at all.
>>
>>89600311
Seems fine, Hex could get caught in the fight since he was out there in the city, while Pym was busy with his car.

>is there were he curses them into dames?
yes
>>
>>89287378
Cool
>>
>>89600824
So Hex gets caught up in the parade fight.

>>89602264
That was 12 days and several paragraphs of writing ago.

In all honesty I'd like to have this current arc finished up and leg 2 of the race starting by the time this thread hits bump limit, but I just don't know if that's going to happen in the ~100 bumps we have left.
>>
>>89602316
Hex could have a hard time using Pacing since there is too many targets, and he usually arranges the rhythm as a 1v1 duel.
>>
>>89603361
OK, so what's Hex's motivation getting involved in this fight?
>>
>>89604992
He might not even wanted to get involved, Hex could just tried to return to the hotel when he was surrounded by a bunch of crazed revelers
>>
>>89605091
So he's just doing his best to get out of the mess?

I'm having a really hard time trying to find a way to make him being involved with this part relevant.
>>
>>89552032
Should Hex know about the panels stuff or is something that Pym is gonna learn by himself?
>>
>>89608562
I think Pym figures it out as his stand evolves with his pacing.
>>
>>89608491
The last time he was seen, Hex was in the bar so he's the most likely to get involved. As far as I know he has no business with the Loki subplot at this point.
>>
>>89609631
No, he exits the bar as Loki enters. >>89588179
>>
>>89609753
Yeah, but I assume that he is still somewhere in the city
>>
>>89610448
The thing is, I don't see how either Pym or Hex is involved with any of the stuff that's about to happen.

I need someone to suggest something or else they won't be involved because I'll have nothing to work with when I write the coming sections since I'll see no place for them.
>>
>>89588179
>We see a parade marching down the streets of San Fransokyo
>There are floats, fire dancers, jugglers, people on stilts, and a lot of rainbows in at least one section of it
>It’s a pretty loose city
>At the front of the parade is the marching band being lead by a man with red hair, wearing a fancy suit with music notes on it (The Music Meister from Batman the Brave and the Bold)
>A loud roar is head in the distance followed by crashing sounds and more roaring
>A shadow creeps up on the Music Meister before wrapping up around his legs and diving into his back; Loki’s face appears and whispers “I’m just gonna borrow you real quick.”
>As the shadow merges into the parade leader his eyes glow green and Loki’s horns protrude from his forehead, his agonized expression changes to one of mirth and mischief in an instant as he changes the parade’s course

>Sam, Max, and Jack are still seeing the sights, Max is standing on their table in some restaurant reenacting something “And then he comes back as a goldfish in a tank in a wheelchair and I toss him down a flight of stairs!” he’s miming the whole thing
>There’s a very loud commotion happening outside now, cars are being flipped and people are screaming, this is all a background event happening seen through the large window of the diner
>Sam, Max, and Jack take no notice of these events until the window right next to them breaks as a car goes flying through, landing on the table on the far side of the window from them

So I need some Sam lines to interrupt Max's story and excuse themselves before they go into action.

Suggestions?

Also, I was thinking Dan would have weird powers like how The Mask turns people in the human twisters. You know, since Loki is involved.
>>
>>89590623
Max sees Loki and recognizes him as that guy who lost to Mr. Nobody, this pisses Loki off who curses them into dames.
>>
Maybe a scene with TOM and Serenity at a fancy restaurant on the top of a building and they hear the commotion and TOM says it's probably a sand fight and then explains what stands are to Serenity.
>>
>>89613150
>Hey look, It's the idiot that lost by a landslide! Look on the bright side, your memorabilia still sells, like crap but still sells.

>>89614588
What would be better? Tom giving the exposition or Sam and Max?
>>
>>89615853
TOM I feel would be better since he's not in the middle of the fight and also because he is the narrator.

And also because I want to better integrate TOM and Serenity into the story before they become super relevant.
>>
>>89613047
Well, having elasticity akin to the original idea of the Stretch was suggested earlier, and I didn't noticed the relation between the Mask and Loki (a different version of him though) until now.
>>
>>89617578
Well, I'm gonna roll with it.

>>89613047
>It really ruined the mood they had going as everyone stares at it, then Sam and Max exchange looks before looking out the now glass-less opening in the establishment
>They see a man in the distance standing in the middle of the street, he’s disheveled, green, and wearing a tattered purple suit, it’s Dan Backslide
>Sam turns to Jack “Well, duty calls.” and pulls out an over-sized hand canon from his coat as he and Max leap through the window
>Dan is mad and drunk, he notices Sam and Max approaching “Hark!” he does a strange motion like a humanoid tornado (think The Mask) to get closer, he puts a hand over his brow to see them in the distance while striking a pose like a pointer dog “Racers!” again with the twister like motions as another car takes to the sky “I’ll destroy them! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!”
>Max gleefully exclaims “That sounds like an invitation to inflict some gratuitous violence to me!” as he pulls out his Luger

Now we're in another fight. That'll be for tomorrow since I'm tired and possibly sick again. I'll have to look into the fighting styles of everyone in this fight, but as soon as someone lands a clean hit to Dan's head he'll start to sober up and remember some stuff leading into that flashback.
>>
Maybe Sam just clubs Dan using Max as the club.

They don't pull out any stands until Loki shows up.

Last bump before bed.
>>
>>89409922
Yeah, I think I do it
>>
How long should the fight last before Dan remembers why he's doing what he's doing?
>>
>>89622156
A couple of jabs, enough for Sam and Max to realize that he is no common criminal
>>
>>89622323
So he's going to bend around their bullets or something?
>>
>>89622839
Or the bullets just bounce off him
>>
>>89623506
So, what you're leading into is...

They shoot at him, the bullets bounce off
Sam picks up Max and clubs Dan over or across the head
SPROING
>Gadzooks! He's made of rubber!
>How did that happen?
The still vibrating Dan Backslide's head goes into the flashback

Flashback ends and Dan grabs his head, says whatever when he comes to terms with what he's doing
Sam and Max point out that if there was a flashback they didn't see it, so Dan didn't answer their question and they feel excluded from plot progression.
>>
>>89624433
>flashback?
>yep, staring at the void with a face like that only means that this fool engaged in a key remembrance
>>
>>89626052
I was thinking the flashback would end when Dan grabs his still comically shaking head from the impact to stop the vibrations.
>>

>>89631810
The cage probably keeps stands from manifesting, it doesn't do anything to stands that are already manifested.

Anyway, I'm currently working on the next part and have written up to the flashback to the bar.

Well, that solves the problem of Chameleon defending himself from her Stand.

>Which monster should Loki jump on top of and force into the seat King Kong Sr. died in?
I think the puffer fish from ppg was suggested in a side note
>>
>>89631971
And who is the first to come to Kong's defense when Loki starts making the fish balloon talk shit?
>>
>>89617785
>Sam comments “Careful Max, he might be the soul devouring monster of rumor these effeminate city dwellers and giant monsters alike have been gossiping about.”
>Dan is quick to react and begins by picking up another car with intent to crush Max with it
>Max unloads on Dan, the bullets connect, but bounce off in all directions, one of them goes up into the car and douses Backslide with oil, causing him to lose his grip and the car to fall on him
>The car crushes Dan, but he slips through the chassis into the interior, he makes a rude gesture then kicks the door of the hinges, the door goes flying off at super speed and grazes Sam
>Sam gets mad “Oh, a wise guy, huh?” and then picks up Max by his feet, Dan is already rushing them again with his freaky human tornado routine as Sam swings his diminutive friend like a club and smashes him into Dan’s head
>Sam exclaims “Gadzooks! He's made of rubber!” as Dan’s head reforms into its original shape while shaking violently
>Max is still being held up in the air when he asks “How did that happen?”
>A close up of Dan’s face which is still vibrating harshly as he begins to remember

>Flashback to the Big One bar
>Loki is sitting next to Dan still, they seem to have hit it
>Loki is laughing as he wipes away a tear “And then he says ‘That wasn’t part of the deal!’ right before he gets eaten by a demon!”
>Dan is still drunk and slapping the table with howls of laughter, he has one arm around Loki at this point
>Loki gingerly takes Dan’s arm off of him and says to him “Listen Backslide, I like you, we seem to have some things in common, so how about you make a deal with me? I’ll lend you some power to take revenge on those racers with, and you can help me with one of my project later on.” Loki begins to glow with green flames “So how about it?” a piece of paper appears in Loki’s hand “Deal?”
cont.
>>
>>89632198
>Dan is smiling and wiggles a finger “Lemmy shink abou et.” then drinks some more of his drink
>Dan then grabs Loki’s hand “Deal!” and marks the paper with a thumbprint
>The green flames spread from Loki into Dan as Loki smiles wide before letting go and leaping into the air, landing on top of a giant puffer fish monster (from PPG)
>With a simple tug on the spines, the monster is a puppet now for Loki to direct as it stumbles around the bar before landing on a roped off seat near the back
>The seat has a plaque on it ‘In Memory of King Kong Sr.’
>Loki throws his voice so make it seem as if the monster is speaking these words “Ah, Mister Kong. If he was so great why did he die from an overdose?”
>A lot of eyes in the bar are now on the puffer fish balloon monster who is waving his fins ineffectively

Because I really don't know which monsters knew who.

Though once the first punch is thrown, Loki disappears, Dan gets crushed and rebounds realizing he's stronger, then takes on some monsters himself and that's what caused the roaring when Loki was taking over the parade.
>>
>>89632152
Could be just another of the ppg's giant monsters
>>
>>89634046
Yeah, but I'm still asking since usually someone will chime in with something more interesting than what I'd come up with if I just solo'd the entire thing.
>>
>>89632251
>One of the other giants in the bar is the first to speak out “Hey, I know it’s been a few years, but still, show some respect.”
>Loki continues to talk through the fish balloon “Kong was a drunken mess, he had one good movie and thought he was hot shit, then when the work dried up he crawled into a bottle and didn't come back out for years.”
>There are groans throughout the bar now, the mood is ruined as all eyes are on the flailing fish balloon, one of the monsters is holding back the big invincible red/orange monster from PPG (the one the girls had to ask politely to leave)
>There’s another monster who yells over the silence “Everyone has their demons, Kong’s just wouldn’t let him go, come on man, it’s been over four years now, let him rest already!”
>The monsters in the bar nod in agreement, until…
>“His son portrayed the part better.”
>The invincible orange monster breaks free and roars “You leave Kong Jr. out of this!” as he punches the fish balloon right in the gut
>Loki lets go and disappears into the shadows
>As the fish balloon deflates, he collides with a bunch of kaijus in the bar, a full on fight breaks out
>Dan is still too drunk to know what’s going on until one of the giant monster bodies lands on top of him
>He effortlessly tosses the body that landed on him off of him and then drunkenly looks at his arms before smiling as he cracks his knuckles
>There’s a roar as he punches a monster across the bar (the same roar we heard when Loki took possession of Music Meister)

>Back in the present, Dan grabs his still shaking head, the vibrations subside and Dan sobers up a little
>”I thought it was a drunken hallucination, a trick of the mind, but it’s all real.” Dan looks at his arms
>Max is annoyed “That doesn’t answer my question at all, guy. Unless… flashback?”
>Sam puts Max down “Yep, staring at the void with a face like that only means that this fool engaged in a key remembrance.”
cont.
>>
>>89637098
>“Gee Sam, I feel we’re being excluded from vital plot progression. Let’s beat this guy up before he forces us off screen again.”
>Dan is still staring at his hands, hands that have ripped apart cars, he balls his hands into fists and smiles before exclaiming “Of course! The racers! THEY’LL NEVER SEE ME COMING!” with an exaggerated movement he raises both his arms and begins to glow with power, in doing so he also knocked a cup of coffee out of the hands of Stan Lee
>With a blur he’s already closed the gap between himself and the freelance police

Now he's using ROUNDABOUT to make himself undetectable. Not sure how much of this fight should play out before Loki shows up with the parade.

Any feedback?
>>
>>89637143
Shouldn't be too long, maybe one of them manage to land a hit on Dan by sheer luck while flailing their arms.
>>
>>89638145
Any suggestions for it? Sam and Max have that certain flair as characters that makes them difficult for me to write.
They have that certain self-awareness that Beetlejuice and the Edboys had in past parts.

It's a pretty clear path after that for the rest of "The City that Knows How" arc, just a lot of expanding and compressing the notes into story.

Last bump from me before bed.

Should the people in the parade go directly after Sam and Max or they blindly charge at anything nearby like protesters?
>>
>>89646604
I think Loki needs to put them under a spell using Music Meister's voice to enrage them.
>>
I feel Sam should drop some non-secular alliteration when the parade goes full rage, like "Holy hamburgers having a heart attack with a..." something.

Something to get V to show up.
>>
>>89645450
OK, so what is this?
>>
>>89615990
Maybe they both give an exposition since Yellowjacket is taking notes, but TOM narration is the main one, with only the end of the other exposition appearing.
>>
>>89652891
I feel Sam and Max wouldn't give exposition about stands since they'd just assume the audience already knows what they are.

Someone would need to ask them in-universe for them to explains stands.
>>
Oh come on, if you're going to keep bumping the thread like that, at least post some input.

I can't proceed with the witting without input. I put the pieces together into a story format, it works best when you keep throwing pieces at me, that way I have more to work with when I get there.
>>
Hmmm... I'm at a point where now Sam and Max are going to turn the tables on Dan by using their abilities.

Sam
>「MEET ME HALF WAY」 (Black Eyed Peas song)
>Appearance: A dark navy blue, extendable C-Clamp with a police badge pattern. (A-la the "Dad's Vice" Strip.)
>Ability: 「MEET ME HALF WAY」 allows Sam to latch two objects together, and force them closer/further apart al not kill. However, larger objects are harder to manipulate, huge and heavy things like boulders and thick trees cannot be moved, as Sam must manually work the crank of 「MEET ME HALF WAY」.

Max
>「UP-SET ATTACK」
>Appearance: A smooth, curved, wooden stick. (A-la the "Fizzball" strip.)
>Ability: Any object 「UP-SET ATTACK」 strikes will begin spinning rapidly in place, before zipping off in a random direction based on the way it was hit for a decent distance before slowing down sharply and falling out of the air.
>If an object hits a wall before running out of power, it will recharge its new momentum slightly before zipping off again. 「UP-SET ATTACK」 can re-charge an object by bashing it again. However, 「UP-SET ATTACK」 can only work on lighter objects, so Max relies on Sam's Stand to provide better "ammo" and walls for said "ammo" to ricochet off of.

Which means I need to come up with something clever using these two stands.
>>
>>89656325
Specifically, the lead up right now is

>>89637143
>Dan shouts “FEEL THE HEEL OF MY WRATH!” as he punts Max like a football, sending him flying into the side of a building
>Sam blinks, then looks down where Max was, then looks around confused “Max? Max, where’d you go little buddy?” until he spots Max in the wall
>Dan has retreated to laugh at them while Sam runs over to free Max from the wall “Max, how did you end up in this compromising position?” as he begins tugging on Max’s body to free him
>Max, now freed from the wall with stars spinning above his head “Sam, I think you might’ve been right about him not being an ordinary drunk. I think it’s time to break out the secret weapons.”

So first they need to establish Dan can make himself into "background chatter", then Sam need to immobilize him, then Max needs to get some hits in at the location where Dan is even if they can't focus on him.

Then comes Loki with the parade.
>>
>>89656325
Wait, how does Sam's Stand works? sounds similar to Goofy's.
>>
>>89657322
Goofy's is closer to King Crimson levels of bullshit "it's just works" logic where he edits out portions of physical reality for a split second.
Like folding a map to put two locations closer together. Where does the stuff in the crease go? It's still on the map, but it's not in the way of the two locations anymore.

Sam's, I assume, works as if he has a clamp that hooks things together and that allows him to determine the distance they are separated by.
>>
>>89657486
So, can he be one of the targets of his Stand and attract objects to him?
>>
>>89657563
He could target Dan and whatever it is Max hits to create a homing attack where every time it hits Dan, it bounces off of him, recharges, then hits him again.
>>
The tricky part is getting Sam to lock onto Dan in the first place.
>>
I need to plot this out.

So Max puts the spin on, let's say, a tire that's fallen off one of the cars and sets it flying where it begins bouncing around the buildings.
Dan mocks their lack of aim, Sam insults him, Dan goes for Sam, Sam pulls a "next you'll say" ruse because he marked the space in front of him where he knew Dan would attack from, the tire comes back and hits Dan in the back of the head and bounces off.
Dan retreats, does his "dissolve into the white noise/background" trick, but the tire hits him again, and again, and again, that's when they explain what happened. Sam marked the tire before Max sent it spinning. Dan has tread marks all over his face now.

In comes Loki in Music Meister's body, the line about him being able to see stands, Sam marks the horns protruding from his head and binds him to a building while Max causes an impact, this forces Loki out of Music Meister's body and Max comments on how badly Loki lost the election, he turns them into dames.

Switch up the Jiggy, flames, jumps, power outage. Cut to TOM and Serenity who are having diner where TOM explains stands to Serenity. Ghost Rider Makes his entrance, Jiggy kills the tension with the comb, Ghost Rider takes control of the body, Loki has an oh shit moment and uses Dan as a human shield to block the penance stare, Dan goes white faced before being discarded as Loki turns into a snake and escapes into a drain pipe, Dan stumbles into an alleyway and Stan Lee finishes the job.

Now, that's the action bits, then comes the exposition. How to handle that? Sam and Max need none of it, but realize the audience does, and possibly Jack to. Does Jiggy or Ghost Rider explain what Loki is?
>>
>>89659692
Ghost Rider is the one supposed to explain what is going on to Sam and Max (and Vince, since he is also there)
>>
>>89660425
My knowledge of Ghost Rider is very limited.

How much talking is he capable of?

>Max pretends like he has a baseball bat and swings at a tire that came off of one of the trashed cars, without even hitting it the tire takes off in a direction not in front of Max and begins bouncing off of the surrounding buildings, it narrowly misses both Sam and Max a few times
>Dan scoffs at this “Your inability to aim won’t distract me.”
>Sam fires back “Shut up you overgrown cucumber, I’ve had corn dogs with more kick than you and nicer shades of green.”
>Dan fumes a little “YOU WILL RUE THE DAY!” and turns into a wall of smear as he zooms towards Sam
>Sam puts up his hands as if to gesture for someone to slow down
>Right as Dan is about to connect, Sam smiles and says “Got ya!”
>The tire comes back and hits Dan in the side of the head, skidding to gain more spin before it bounces off again and sending Dan off course
>Dan retreats, and holds his head as he begins stomping his foot in anger
>The tire comes back and hits him again, and again, and again
>“You see Max, our boisterous opponent has some sort of ability where the louder and more exaggerated he acts, the more our brains tune him out. Like background chatter or white noise.”
>“Oh, so he’s like that sad lonely guy who gets stood up by a date and no one can kick him out by closing time.”

>Dan’s face is now covered in tread marks and he’s losing balance, but then music begins to drift over the area, followed by cries of anger
>From around the corner runs Music Meister with the entire parade following him, whipped up into a frothing frenzy as they smash windows and case property damage
>Sam remarks “Holy hamburgers hashing it out with hatchets on hastening hotrod. It’s a hoard of hooligans!” just as the flood of people pour into the street, swallowing up Dan
>A Guy Fawkes mask appears on one of the floats as Sam says this

I'm debating if a cut away to Pym would work here. Feels kind of week just to cut away to him when he's not going to be involved.
>>
>>89662631
what would be the purpose of the scene with Pym?
>>
>>89663330
See, that's my issue here.
In this cut away, Pym is working on Rover, hears the noise, is about to investigate, and then Hex stops him saying it's beyond their pay grade or something. Feels weak and unnecessary to me.

Right now I'm thinking the cut away isn't worth it and Hex can just say something like "told you" when they get a look at Sam and Max at the start of the next leg of the race.
>>
>>89663643
yeah, the second option is better. Perhaps Pym comments that something big happened in downtown after looking at the aftermath of the fight and Hex says the "I told you" line.
>>
>>89662631
>Music Meister (Loki) is directing the hoard like a conductor
>“These misguided simpletons are clearly under some form of mind control!” shouts Sam
>“Good thing I still have that metal plate in my skull.” says Max as he taps on his head
>Sam and Max rush through the hoards of people to confront Music Meister, but are pushed back by the words of his song
(I’m not even going to try coming up with another song for this project)
>Max shakes his head from the sounds “Fine, if that’s how you want to play it” Max begins to glow, a curved wooden stick emerges from Max's hand, Beach Boy-style “Pretty cool trick, eh? Oh right, you can't see 「UP-SET ATTACK」, sucker!”
>Max rushes in only to get pushed back again by the musical waves of sound, Music Meister is clearly also glowing
>As Max lands on his back next to Sam, Sam says “Uh Max, something tells me that this fruity guy is among the small percentage of the world's populace that can see Stands.”
>Max: “Oh crap, a minority! Let's make it look like it was in self-defense.”
>Sam rubs his chin “Hey, that gives me an idea.” and begins to glow too, he puts his hands out in front of him again, this time we can see a clamp materialize “Let’s have him [Meet me Half Way]
>As Sam says this, he fastens one end of the clamp to a building and the other end to Max, as Sam spins the clamp crank, Max is sent towards Music Meister and able to withstand the musical waves
>Max is up in Music Meister’s face before he knows it and the clamp is now connected to the horns coming out of his forehead
>Max shouts “He’s locked in, Sam!”
>Sam is at the ready, “Give him hell!”
>Max gleefully punches Music Meister right in the gut just as the extendable clamp retracts
>Instead of Music Meister being pulled by the camp back to Sam, his horns are ripped right off of his head
cont.
>>
>>89665320
>Sam and Max both wince, but then see a second head emerge from Music Meister’s head, the true owner of the horns is pulled towards Sam while Music Meister falls in the direction Max punched him
>Sam is surprised “I did not see that coming.”
>Max recognizes the man instantly “Hey look, It's the idiot that lost the election by a landslide!” Loki scouls at this as he’s trying to get a better footing since he’s still being pulled by the horns “Look on the bright side, your memorabilia still sells, like crap, but still sells.”
>Loki raises his staff “You dare meddle in my plans, curse you lagomorph and canine!”
>A flash of green lightening shoots from his staff and zaps both Sam and Max, stunning them and knocking them over
>As they get up, they notice something feels different
>Sam: "Holy holiday home invader with a whisky-soaked beard descending into a still-smoldering fireplace, we've become members of the fairer sex!"
>Max: "Does this mean we get paid less?"

And that's where I'm at for tonight.

>Serenity: Jeez, this place is full of smug assholes
>TOM: Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, Serenity, remember that the president is paying our expenses
>Serenity: Something good finally came from that weirdo...
>She looks at the window and notices the fight between Loki and the freelance police "Hey check this out, there is riot in the street!"
>TOM surveys the scene and spots Sam and Max "That's no common riot, is a fight between Stand users!"
>Serenity: Stand users?...oh right, the guys with those invisible things that you are so damn sure they exist...because you are one of them, correct?
>TOM: What? c'mon! you still don't believe me?
>Serenity: Excuse me if I'm skeptical about that kind of nonsense...oh, you are going to give me the long speech again, is it?
>TOM: You betcha! (TOM's Space Oddity appears behind him as he starts the exposition)

And after the exposition, they notice that the rest of the clients in the restaurant are glued to the windows watching the brawl with excitement.

Ok, let's give closure to Chameleon's story:

>Tom is walking through an alley carrying the unconscious Chameleon, bound and gagged like a pig, on his shoulders
>Tom: Well, you gave quite a fight…no, even a common mugger is a better fighter. At least you withstand the punches better. That must be your talent, being a punching bag.
>He throws Chameleon in a dumpster, then starts smoking “Now, how do I know if you are really unconscious? Maybe you are good at feigning”
>Tom takes a deep breath and exhales the smoke at Chameleon’s face, Chameleon doesn’t react “Uh, no response…just to be sure”
>He drops the cigar’s ashes on Chameleon’s face, he doesn’t react again “Well, it’s safe…I guess. Whatever… I'm not gonna babysit you, that’s someone else's job”
>He takes a cellphone out of his pocket and makes a call. Minutes pass and an armored van with the Strickland logo arrives to the scene; two employees of the foundation get out of the vehicle
>Employee: Is that our man? Looks like a street thug to me
>Driver: Quiet, We owe him a lot
>Tom: About time…
>Driver: Hey, long time no see you!
>Tom: Are you kidding? I wish I could get rid of you and your people at least for one week, yet here I am, attracting these losers by the dozen
>Driver: Charming as usual, what we got here?
>Tom: I gave all the info to Hill; a Stand user that talks to himself, sounds like the bastard too
>Driver: Are you sure? After all these years?
>Tom: Who knows? Maybe I just don’t like eastern europeans. Anyway, the guy was too suspicious and attacked me on sight, seems to be involved in the incident with the robot that happened a few squares away
>Employee: What’s wrong with this guy’s face? (He points at Chameleon)
>Tom: Hey, that’s how I found him; I only gave him a couple of bumps
>Employee: Yeah sure, at least help us to put this creep inside the truck

cont
>>
>>89688845
>Tom: Oh no, this is your trouble now; my gal is working overtime today so it’s my turn to pick up the kids, good luck
>Tom walks away, leaving the two Strickland agents with Chameleon
>Employee: Yeah, thanks for nothing
>Driver: He has done more for the foundation than both of us, now shut up and help me with this guy
>The Strickland guys load Chameleon inside the transport and drive away. During the travel, Chameleon wakes up inside the van’s reinforced cell and look at his surroundings
>Chameleon: Just…a temporary setback, I need to start planning my escape from this vehicle…
>“Too easy…”
>Chameleon: What was that?
>“This mission was easy…”
>Chameleon: Who’s talking? Show yourself!
>A series of threads slip through the gaps of the door and converge in front of Chameleon, taking the form of a disembodied hand
>“And if the mission was so easy, why you ended here?”
>Chameleon: What’s the meaning of this?
>“You were given a simple task and a warning that failure won’t be tolerated, what do you think?”
>Chameleon: It seems you don’t understand who you are talking with; I am a professional, I’m not defeated yet!”
>“And you don't seem to understand the gravity of this situation”
>Chameleon: What?
>“You failed your mission and now you are inside a Strickland prison car, en route to an interrogatory where you will disclose sensitive information”
>Chameleon: Ha! And you expect me to just talk under interrogation like an amateur?
>“We expected that you accomplished your mission, and look what happened. No, this outcome was within our calculations; therefore the next step is…” The hand leaps towards Chameleon and grabs him by the throat
>Chameleon: What are you doing!?
>“Does ‘outliving your usefulness’ ring any bells? We can't leave any loose ends after all”
>Chameleon starts glowing with stand power but nothing happens

cont.
>>
>>89688883
>“There is no use; this cells were designed after the superjail fiasco, a Stand can’t manifest when the user is already inside”
> The hand Stand crushes Chameleon’s throat, who opens his mouth as he gasp for air
>“Is already over” The Stand takes on a dough-like texture and forces his fingers inside Chameleon’s mouth “Do you like it? I been getting creative with the recipe”
>The Strickland transport finally arrives to destination and is surrounded by Strickland guards and Propane Nightmares
>Guard: Attention everyone, prisoner inbound! Alright, let’s see what we got…What the fuck?
>When the door opens they find Chameleon motionless on the floor with foam coming out of his mouth
>Dmitri Smerdyakov “Chameleon”. Stand: 「ELEANOR RIGBY」 Status: Deceased

and that's it, we are also about to reach bump limit

Needs a few touch ups for grammar, but other than that it's good.

I was hoping to at least have finished up the city arc this thread, but unless I pull that out of my ass within a couple of hours, I guess it'll be next thread.
>>
Getting this all organized.
>>89665342
>We get a shot of the city from the sky, we see all the massive floating wind turbines that supply the city with most of its power
>On top of one of these turbines a man is relaxing, looking up at the sky while laying on his backside: It’s Jiggy
>Jiggy looks contemplative, there’s something on his mind, what it is, we’ll never know since his sunglasses perfectly conceal the majority of his true feelings
>Suddenly, the still air of his elevated perch is perturbed by the shrill screams of terror from below
>Jiggy cautiously looks over the edge and spots the parade turned hoard of people in chaos, he scans the area before his gaze rests upon Loki
>He holds up a pair of binoculars as his view tunnels in on Loki’s horns, when he lowers them, one of his eyebrows is raised
>Zoom out, the wind turbine has suddenly bust into flames and the blades begin spinning at incredible speeds
>A streak of fire-y light launches up from it, the impact of the take off causing the turbine to wobble

>In a fancy hotel, on the top floor, is a fancy restaurant where TOM and Serenity are having dinner
>Serenity is poking at her plate with an elbow on the table and a hand supporting her chin “Jeez, this place is full of smug assholes.”
>TOM is sitting across from her “Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, Serenity, remember that the president is paying all our expenses.”
>There’s a flicker from the lights as Serenity says “Something good finally came from that weirdo…” She looks out the window down at the street below and notices the fight between Loki and the freelance police "Hey check this out, there’s riot in the street!"
>TOM surveys the scene and spots Sam and Max "That's no common riot, is a fight between Stand users!"
>Serenity: “Stand users?...oh right, the guys with those invisible things that you are so damn sure exist... because you have one of them too, right?”
>TOM: “What? c'mon! you still don't believe me?”
>>
>>89690988
>Serenity puts a hand on her hip in a coy way “Excuse me if I'm skeptical about that kind of nonsense… oh, are you going to give me the long speech again?”
>TOM: “You betcha!” TOM begins to glow with stand power as a humanoid translucent woman appears flowing behind him: [Space Oddity] (Looks like SARA)

>Narration boxes appear
>’Stands: Psychic manifestations of a person’s desires.’ there’s a display of a person with another figure behind them
>’They defend and empower their users in a variety of ways, from altering the behavior of other people,’ we see and outline of Johnny Bravo
>’to granting their user various super human abilities,’ we see an outline of Plucky
>‘to changing the very fabric of reality.’ we see an outline of The Warden
>’Only someone with a stand can see another person’s stand and only a stand can harm another stand.’

>A fireball streaks down past the window next to TOM and Serenity
>Serenity: “What the hell was that?”
>TOM: “Must be another Stand user…”
>Serenity: “Oh, shut up!”
>Around them all the customers have since gathered around the window to see the action, having been effected by TOM’s [Space Oddity]

>Down on the streets below, there’s been a power surge that’s caused many of the lights to fail
>Suddenly, there is a roaring sound in the air as a great fireball crashes into the middle of the chaos
>Sam, Max, Loki, and even Jack from the cover of a building, all stare at the flaming impact crater
>A figure emerges, illuminated only by the light of its flaming skull of a head
>As it steps out of the crater, everyone around it recoils
>The flaming skull man walks slowly and heavily, all eyes are on him, all eyes can only see him
still working on it.

>He passes a plate glass window and notices his reflection "Oh boy, it's still there." He takes a switchblade comb from his pocket and starts combing his flaming hair "Oh yeah, check all that style… so smooth, fiery. C'mon baby, show it who's the boss!"
>When he finishes, he notices that the comb was reduced to a melted stub "Whoa, this bad boy is really fiery… I love it"
>There’s a narration box again, this time is reads “Jiggy – Bollywood Super, Host of the Ghost Rider”
>The lights come back on and we see that Loki is not looking amused
>Ghost Rider catches Loki in his peripheral vision and his skull immediately snaps to Loki’s direction with the eye sockets now blazing, Jiggy’s mannerisms melt away as the Spirit of Vengeance takes full control
>Loki’s expression reads ‘Oh Shit’
>The fires surrounding Ghost Rider burn even brighter, there’s a narration box with the words “Penance Stare” to name the attack
>When it subsides, we don’t see Loki, instead we see Dan Backslide, now white as a sheet, the color not only drained from his face, but even his clothes, being used as a human shield by Loki
>Loki tosses Dan to one side and morphs into a collection of snakes that disappears through a storm drain

OK, so what should come next? Sam and Max being given exposition, or Dan's soul being consumed by Stan Lee?

The current order in the doc is Dan getting his soul devoured and then Ghost Rider's exposition, though I feel that it would be better the other way around.

Also bump limit

Yeah, I also think it'd be better the other way around.

Exposition
Dan meets Stan Lee
Excelsior squad deploys
End of chapter

We have about an hour or two before the thread is gone, someone will need to make a new one before then.

Before the exposition, Dan should run away from the scene (or being chased out), then Sam and Max demand some answers from Ghost Rider.

Is there anything else in that last part?

>Sam and Max are still dames, they look at each other and then down at their now altered bodies
>Max: "Hey Sam, since we've gone through a strange and apparently magical transformation that science can't exactly explain, does that mean we're going to be experimented on with strange devices and probed in horribly compromising ways?"
>Sam: "Only in the South, I'm afraid."
>Max: "Nuts."
>Sam: "Not anymore."
>Ghost Rider’s flaming skull is now up in their business
>Max: “Back off pal, I don’t know you!”
>“What? Oh, right.” the flames extinguish revealing Jiggy “You guys got cursed by a demon prince.”
>Sam: “Ah, the occult. That explains everything.”
>Max: “But go ahead and explain it anyway since I’m sure our avid readers will require and exposition dump to keep up with the zany plot that now unfolds before us.”
>Jack has also come out from cover and is holding his notebook
>Jiggy readjusts his coat “That dude, Loki, is a demon, part of the WB’s failed plan to take over the U.S.A.; the flaming skull guy is Ghost Rider, an angel sent from heaven to banish him back to the fire-y depths of hell, I’m just playing host.”
>Sam: “So were you chosen due to your extensive experience in acting?”
>Jiggy is fixing his hair “Yeah, sure, I’ll go with that. If you guys want to change back, help me catch that sissy boy crybaby demon. He’s just holding a grudge against Nobody for beating him, so he’s out to ruin the race.”
>Jiggy walks off, Sam and Max exchange looks
>Max: "This sucks, Sam. How am I supposed to strike pants-wetting fear into the criminal element looking like this?"
>Sam: "Putting aside the fact that you don't look all that different, you were never very intimidating, Max."
>Max: "But I made up for it with unchecked levels of testosterone and an inherent competitive compulsiveness to measure myself in the suffering of others!"
>Sam: "You crack me up, little gal pal."
>Sam, Max, and Jack walk away from the scene

>Dan has wandered into an alleyway, he’s just barely clinging to life using the walls to support himself when someone stands in his way: It’s Stan Lee, and he has a coffee stain on his shirt
>Stan Lee: "Wow! The concatenation of crazy chewless choices careens my bubbling brain into baryonic bursts of brazen befuddlement! In a world of fantastic food flying free, fancy and fast, you're given the ominous opportunity to be the next gargantuan gastronomic glee will I guzzle.”
>Dan looks deeply confused
>V is drawn in by the alliterations, but suddenly Stan Lee’s features change, we only see Dan’s horrified face at the shadow of Stan Lee being cast upon him contorts and expands
>V’s eyes widen as he quickly forces himself to change locations
>From outside the alleyway there is a light, followed by Dan’s screams, and then silence as a shaken V is now seen on an inconspicuously illuminated item in a window
>If V had not retired from the scene, he would have been consumed as well

>Across town an alarm goes off in a fire station
>Men slide down poles and rush into a firetruck accompanied by police cars
>Officer Stan Lee gets on his radio “We have a situation down at block 7-7-Z-1, all squads proceed with caution, it might be the soul sucking monster again!”
>Various Stan Lee officers and volunteers are seen rushing to the scene
>One group mounts an old-timey patrol car yelling "Excelsior!" in unison while waving their batons
TO BE CONTINUED

And that's that arc.

I think this arc is done. I'm moving the lines about Max feeling naked to the starting line of the next leg.
