You can watch like half of 1 (selected episodes, not just the first or second half) and have a pretty full understanding of the major plot elements that come up again in 2, but you'd still be missing out on some less important but still relevant character/setting aspects that do come up later.

It's kind of a weird show because I think there are only like 7/8 filler episodes out of 50-ish segments so far, in the sense that things from them are never referenced again or they rehash character traits we already knew about. Some episodes are definitely less important than others but as the show progresses they make more of an effort for it to feel more connected, reusing some characters/settings/etc. from less important episodes in more important ones.

Oh, it LOOKS like some stupid little bubblegum nothing show. All the crazy animals and magic creatures, the slapstick hijinks, Star herself.

But hiding behind all that bright, shiny window dressing is one of the deepest, darkest shows I've ever seen.

Bon Bon was just.... Amazing. I thought nothing would ever top Storm the Castle, but then Ludo in the wild did exactly that.

I never thought anything would touch Ludo in the Wild, but then Bon Bon the Birthday Clown just...cratered the whole show.

It's genuinely amazing.

Plus, Star is POWERFUL. This appeals to the guys who like fights, but it means that in order to give her actual conflict, it's got to be subtle, mental shit. At least until the NEW BAD GUY gets his shit together.

Also, the Mena Loveberry episode was genuinely disturbing, even though most of the anons on here kind of hated it.
