Guys I just finished the OVAs and now I think I know why everyone hates them... They made no freakin sense! I mean, they were fun, the fighting was cool, the characters are cool but the plot was horrible. Suddenly there's 12 Dofuses? And dragons that were never once mentioned before? And why did ogrest eat them? Adamai was always a dick, but I feel he was acting a bit OOC. They nerfed the hell out of Joris, and Pinpin and Eva were acting weird. IDK I liked them because I love the series but in the end they were thoroughly meh/10
I hope S3 can redeem the series and there's still two more Dofus movies to look forward to right?

Tot has these newsletters and there's the new Gamakna online magazine. One of those should have it. They're struggling to get it shown because both France4 and Netflix want to put the boot down. Even though it's what they promised the KS backers way back in 2013 or so. I guess they see the show as lucrative enough to deny Ankama the satisfaction, then.

As a guy who follows everything Wakfu since 2010, helped a bit with the subs and was responsible for working direct download links in these threads for almost two years... Fuck you.

Ankama is retarded for not even trying to explain basic rules of how the world and races work in their animated shows. An explanation would take under a minute and make it all smooth sailing from there, but instead we get things like Nox looking Xelors (he was super unique till that moment) out of nowhere in ep. 11 and we have no idea what is going on. I can talk lore all day now, but I was confused when I started watching and had to dig to learn the details. This should never happen in any medium. Again, take 10 seconds to explain things, especially if you have a kid in your show who can ask those questions for the viewers so it won't feel grating. Yes, you risk slight repetition from time to time in dufferent shows or media, but you gain coherency and you do not alienate new viewers. Not to mention your world becomes even richer in the process.

You shouldn't have to follow the glacial speed moving mangas to know why Phaeris wasn't in the OVA's or why Ogrest is big and bad now. Just take a fucking minute and tell us, Tot you stupid fuck.

The only reason I mentioned anything is to prove that even the older fans hate Ankama's policy on not repeating a story or explanation ever, even if it is buried in comic most people watching the show never read. Telling people to dig for MORE info is fine, telling them they HAVE to dig for BASIC info about things which constantly appear in the show but are never explained there is a sign that something is not right.

Hell, this is the reason why good people here made all those infographics about races and stuff. As much as I love their animation, Ankama is a mess of a company.

Ok. Time for a thought experiment. You just discovered the show on Netflix. You kinda like it. You do not browse 4chan, you have no idea about Kerub existing or that there are any comics (or you think they are only in French).

Why isn't there Phaeris in OVA's? Who is Ogrest and why is he bad? What's the difference between a Iop and a Sacrier? Please base your answers only on what the show provides.

This is a show made by a medium sized French company. Even Marvel does not tell you to watch Luke Cage to know who that one guy in the movies is, it's the other way round. Small things reference bigger things. The series should not rely on comics or webisodes to tell it's backstory, it's those comics and shorts which should take shortcuts from your knowledge of the show. Intermedia is not bad. The way Ankama does intermedia is. They almost act like they make cartoons mostly for the fans of their games and not a show for everyone to capitalize on the games' rich lore and catch new fans with a colorful world they'd love to play in.

Anyway, my point with that was, outside of the big, "main" stuff, some lore/story junk that ends up being important can be a bit difficult to find. The websites are bare-bones and I'd hardly want to play an MMO just to figure something out in my cartoon. The comics/manga could go unnoticed too unless you sorta knew what you were looking for in advance.

It's a bit of a jumbled mess, especially for common, casual consumers who don't go on 4chan. The cross-media type stuff could be great, it's just not as well linked together as it could/should be.

That there is more lore is perfectly fine. Did, at any point, not knowing that children can be born a certain race because they declare themselves for a God in Incarnum really hinder your wakfu experience? Seriously, remember how many people in these very threads (which were THE place online to get your info and to talk about the show in other language than French) though Kris La Krass is a Iop like Tristepin? It does not require much effort or skill to dedicate literally a minute of screentime to explain how races and gods work.

The point is, some unanswered questions are ok, making the lore a bit deeper in different side stories is great, but never explaining the basics or important plot points of a show because "viewers can look it up online" is a dumb idea.

Its funny, after watching some Ankama videos (trailers for projects, etc) I now get ads in French on Youtube more often then not.

Say I'm a casual viewer and I've only watched the Wakfu series and am going straight into the OVAs, some evil dude in a mask shows up as does some cat that Joris acts really friendly with. Eva had twins? What's up with this Ush dude? Who are some of these people who seem kinda important? Where's the dragon from the end of S2? Why are there more dragons, but without Eliatropes to go with them? Who's the bird guy who's interacting with a now baby sized Ogrest and why can he do that?

Does it hinder it that badly? Maybe not, but it does reach a point where I feel like I'm missing something that a simple Google search might not be able answer. Not to mention that some of that, even if unnecessary or small, helps add weight to the events on screen.

I am half-half on Eliotropes. On one hand I never want to see or hear about them and pretend they never existed (like their lore ,':^) but on the other hand, if you're going to do such an outlandish thing and raise Yugo to a God, follow through.

Amalia was a major character only in season 1. Since season 2 she became supporting cast to the Yugo and Tristepin Show (even more apparent in the OVA's, where even Eva, who got some cool episodes in season 2, got almost completly sidelined).

If it was Bonta being flooded by Ogrest, there would be literally zero reason for her to appear in OVA's, since her entire role was to induce drama in ep. 1 and then have a funny scene or two.

So yeah, her lack would make even less impact than the lach of Phaeris, a POWERFUL ELIATROPE DRAGON, strong enough to stop the entire Sufokian army, who could help out A LOT durong those episodes.

Amalia was always a useless, basically only there for waifu fags and shippers. If you don't like her, or the idea of her with Yugo I doubt you'd really care about her. She's an Adamai tier character without adamai tier relevance. The only change was that she wasn't a plot device in S2.
Eva lowered in prominence sorta but only in full on combat which had effectively become Yugo and Grovy's thing by the end of S1. She still has good scenes though.
Ruel was always basically a supporting character so no changes there either.

Have a good balanced deck that allows you to place down summons as you need them. As well as having complimentary spells and infinites/krosmic cards that synergies with each other.

Did 7 wins in a row just recently. A lot of luck and playing Iop. Getting the right cards at the right time helps tremendously.

Thing with Xelor is that you need tanks to allow your Sinistro to do their job. Just be certain the enemy doesn't have curse cards to deactivate them.

Playing either Cra or Iop is a good start. I think I nailed 7 as Eniripsa early on, all in all I would say being able to play off board is important i.e. removals/cards that bounce minions into the hand.

As with all card games a good portion of luck helps, maybe more in krosmaga cause it sure is a wonderful time when you bang down 2 fake dofuses first and the opponent is going for real ones.

Iop also has crazy built in movement boost that coupled with the neutral ones just makes minions threaten your dofuses very quickly. But yeah Cra removal is insane in its volume as well as quality per mana that coupled with the many good range minions are a pain.

Granted turnaround removals like making an enemy minion into a friendly mummy/coney is REALLY strong but they just compete with Cra's arsenal when you consider the whole picture.

Both Iop and Cra are brain dead because as soon as they get a single minion halfway up the map it's VERY easy to get fucked.

Cra removal is OP because she doesn't need to kill, she just needs to get it to the point where every minion you drop to stop dofus damage gets instantly taken out.
Your best case scenario is trading, for Christ sake. There is next to nothing that you can drop - especially early - that can tank Cra removal spell and her minion damage. 4 mana bomb arrow autoremoval not even included.

Sinistro/Diod is 4/5 mana. If you place it on an empty row, you get a free direct hit or 3 mana worth of a curse card.
Then your opponent spends 3 mana curse removing it, and if you placed it on a fake dofus potentially another 3 mana if they want to curse down a real one.

With such low mana cards it'd be really rare if your enemy didn't have his first curse cards up anyway.

Sure every god has somne strong stuff, Cra and Iop just has more and stronger ones. Ranged minions by themselves can generally trade up easily, provided they don't get played first and are paired against another 3 move one, and even then one of her many removal spells will turn it around and set the minion up for strong value.

Ancestral Bilibili is stron in and off itself for obvious reason, but coupled with the nature of Cra's ranged minion it just goes balistic.

I only have card 1 Adamai so far but it is strong enough. And the eniripsa card (name?) which bounces any 4AT minion into my own hand does the same thing only better, granted the cost is higher but 3/8 for 7 mana is more than fine when coupled with removal along with giving me his minion is one of the power moves of the class so I can't complain about "only" having Adamai 1.

Yeah, they do that so you buy gold to buy the gold packs and purchase xp for your infinite cards.

They had a starter pack for $8 last month that gave you a lot of cards.

What I like about the game is that you don't really need to invest a whole lot into it. A game will last about 10 minutes tops. So you can play this while doing some cooking or whatever. Easy to play and you can quit without losing out to much of anything if you have an emergency.
