Plus, he'll have to be much smarter because Allura's a lot squishier and easier to harm than the Lions. Whereas Zarkon could fire upon his former vehicle with impunity, Lotor won't have as much leeway.

They could play that feature up for tragedy, because while the original Galra/Drule were a diverse enough crowd where he wouldn't look too out of place despite his heritage, in Legendary Defender, as varied as their appearances may seem on the surface, the Galra usually fall into easily distinguished troll/werewolf/vampire/gorilla archetypes. Lotor, if he looks anything remotely like his past incarnations, would stick out like a sore thumb.

In fact, I'm certain Haggar will try to force him to wear a mask to hide how un-Galra he is to his subjects (the hair alone is a dead giveaway) only for him to arrogantly refuse because he doesn't really care what they think and doubts they're capable of thinking all that much or hard.
