I really liked the pilot when I first saw it. no other episode has been as good. I re-watched the pilot pretty recently. I hated it.

Why do people seem to dislike seasons 5 & 6? Is it the overall length and the focus being based on Finn' s maturity and progressing other characters which ends up clusterfucking or what?

I still like seasons 5 and 6. Heck, they contain some of my favourite episodes, but on the whole, I found them less consistent in quality than other seasons.

I never liked the pilot but loved the show until like season 3 ish.
Pilot had charm but was on the more obnoxious side, the early parts of the show felt like the good parts of the pilot but more refined.

Season 5 had way too many characters being focused on period which killed the quality.

It was never good. Glad it's dying.
