SHADOW BATMAN CROSS OVER
DYNAMITE BETTER NOT FUCK THIS UP
THIS IS NOT A DRILL
>This April, more than one person will know what evil lurks in the hearts of men as two classic creatures of the night team up in the first issue of Batman/The Shadow, a six-issue comic book crossover from the all-star team of Scott Snyder, Steve Orlando and Riley Rossmo

I run.
Either The Shadow is after me and I'm buying myself a few more seconds of life or I'm about to be in a situation where The Shadow has to save me and fuck being in The Shadow's debt, that does not always end well.
>Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.
what is this supposed to mean?
>Early promotional image for what would have been Jim Steranko’s version of ‘The Shadow’. (1973)
>Steranko, like Alex Toth and Bernie Wrightson, was removed from the project early on, when he began to make demands that the script be closer to the original pulps. One can understand why this might have been a personal effort for him, as Steranko was close friends with Shadow creator Walter B. Gibson for most of his life, considering the prolific pulp writer something of a mentor.
>When the dust settled, DC opted for the creative team of writer Denny O’Neil and artist Michael W. Kaluta to relaunch the character in comic form. It would last just 12 issues, yet remains tremendously popular among die-hard Shadow aficionados.
There has been a new line of Doc Savage novels coming out the past few years - which NOBODY seems to know about which is a travesty - and they did a Shadow team up a year or two ago
WE CALL THE WATCHMEN

So is this the radio Shadow or pulp Shadow? Because I'd probably enjoy a nice friendly chat with Lamo- I mean, the Shadow if it's the radio version but bail if it's the latter.
was he the first to duel wield?
>get in loser we're going for a ride
>you are now attempting to do this
Another fuckedup cover
And my personal favorite

if this new crossover is a major fuck up, at least we still have the original...
>Margo did I ever tell you about the time I took DMT while I was in South America?
>The Shadow ruins Lou and the Gang's day at the fair
The crystal ball and cat featured on the last cover belonged to Walter Gibson
Gibson had been a stage magician, produced several tricks that are standards of magic now like the magic rings, and was the ghost writer for Harry Houdini and others. He hosted the Harry Houdini seances for many years in fact.
The background in magic was drawn upon regularly for The Shadows use of theatrics and slight of hand, disguises, and real magic props like a trick box he could hide in and flash powder on his hands
The Spider was an also ran in the hero pulps
Very obviously derived from The Shadow
What he lacked in originality, he made up for in wacked out plots and extreme violence

and the one after that.
>Origina Shadow/Dominic Fortune painting by Howard Chaykin from Hulk magazine #25, published by Marvel Comics, February 1981.
Interesting that Chaykin had been toying with the idea long before he did that comic, did he pitch it to Marvel for him to enter their universe?
>nobody is reading this and we got a royalty cheque for $0.05 so we can do whatever we want right?

Marvel did get the rights to the Shadow, but they only did issue.
