I'm not sure. The movie was great, and to a lesser extent the sequel was decent, but I never nor can i see it even now as a ongoing television series.

What would the plot even be? Flint and Sam fighting food related monster of the week villains? Jimmy Neutron/Dexter's Lab esc. show of Flint making science inventions and the town dealing with it?
