God, I fucking hate how mainstream comics censor swearing. It's the dumbest shit.
>>89575880
Right?

Samefag here. That said, this was really good and pretty intriguing. I want to know what happens next.

So. Much better than expected.
Swearing censoring is extremely stupid, but otherwise waiting for the next issue

So Dynamite is back on track!
Neat

I can tell immediately that Paul Cornell was a good pick.

Man, with the symbol on that book I REALLY wonder if the team here read Dan Abnett's Durham Red.

For reference: Dan Abnett is a comics guy but also a big lore/fluff/book guy for Warhammer 40k. And he wrote a lot for the Brit comic 2000AD, which has had a fair bit of crossover with 40k in staff and ideas.
Durham Red was a sexy female bounty hunter in the Strontium Dog series in 2000AD, a sci-fi action series about mutant bounty hunters (mainly Johnny Alpha and Wulf, who was not a mutant but a Viking lost in time). Durham Red's mutation was essentially vampirism and she got a few spin-offs of her own.
Dan Abnett took over Durham Red's stories and immediately moved her to a very far-flung (and very, very 40k "inspired") future where she had just woken up from suspended animation and her exploits had led to her being worshiped as a mutant saint, prophesied to lead mutants to salvation.
The blocky way the bat on that book is drawn is similar to the blocky way the Imperial Aquila is drawn in 40k.
So... is Cornell riffing on that idea as his starting point? Kinda curious!

(Paul Cornell, of course, has also written for 2000AD)

possibly, but the symbol on the book is just Vampi's symbol

Is she in her underwear?

So that's how they're dealing with all the continuity.
