I couldn't believe they would make the oncler, deliberately never shown in the book so you can imagine anyone in his place, a generic Dreamworks """"relatable""""" kid. Maybe it was just cause I was always kinda creeped out by the oncler from the book, but it just doesn't feel right that he's schlick bait for Tumblr. I still can't accept it, and I'm still not convinced that whole movie isn't some elaborate joke at the human race's expense. They used the frickin Lorax to sell cars for Christ's sake!

There can't be another Onceler. The circumstances for the Onceler to become the clusterfuck that he is noq were very specific and exclusive to the time his movie was released.

Sure, characters like Sans and Junkrat have come close, but their fandom isn't one bit close to the Onceler's. Heck, even if it was, this is a different year, and everyone has a different mindset now.

The idea of making the Onceler a relatable character who reasons himself into comitting attrocities is actually not half bad.

The Biggering fan-storyboard that gets posted around here a lot actually shows a good transition from the cutesy Tumblr-bait Onceler to the detached buisnessman Onceler, inevitably setting up the faceless metaphor that we "see" in the beginning of the story.
