I think Cinder's just afraid she's gonna turn into a psychotic Salem worshippper like Tyrian.

She kind of prided herself on her sharp mind and efficient fighting, and after efficiently slaying some Grimm in one hit each Salem says she's not using enough of her power and then Tyrian starts tearing the shit out of a single Grimm while screaming and sobbing.

Cinder killed Pyrrha realtively quick and clean. Tyrian probably would have tackled her dying body and started ripping her guts out long after she was dead. I don't think that's quite the kind of person Cinder wants to be. She wants to be feared respectfully, not thought of as a psycho.
