Reposting from last thread, but what are the odds that Jaune's actual father died pretty early on in his life (as a hunter or otherwise) and his mother remarried shortly after? Which would mean he currently has a step-father. Also he has 7 step-sisters, instead of sisters, with the added bonus that they look nothing like him.

There are inconsistencies with his background, namely how his family history contains famous people and people as recent as his gramps being a fighter. Maybe his mom and step-dad are civvies and hence never trained him in combat or aura unlock. They probably also never really wanted him to go to Hunter school, but are actually pretty clueless about the whole initiation and process themselves, hence they didn't stop him and think its just like a regular school, just for 'elites'.
Or the whole thing about his family can be chalked up to M&K.

I'd really want to say that Jaune's backstory isn't relevant the fact that they brought up his sisters again this volume shows it isn't a one time thing.

Well, some people are saying Jaune may get more time next volume (Yes I can hear the groans and boos) because New Haven was a place associated with Witch Trials. And guess what Joan of Arc was known for.

I do think,as much as people are going to complain, that they should get over with Jaune's back story some Jaune episodes wouldn't be too bad.

Actually I love the idea of a JoJo-esque villain who's semblance is a mystery and whoeffortlessly thwarts the hero's plans due to meticulous on-the-fly planning, to the point of counter-sniping a sniper with his sidearm right at the start of a fight because he took 40 minutes to examine the battlefield when he first saw an enemy.
Sometimes he makes people think he can read minds by mimicking someone's speech via lip-reading in frozen time.

The problem with this is that Spider-Man only works with the setae because his entire body is altered to accommodate wallcrawling by mutating pretty much every one of his internal systems.
His nervous system, his skeletal structure, his entire muscular system, even his organs. All of them were mutated, making much of his internals a horrifying mish-mash of spider and human.

Much like his web swinging can't really work without his spider-sense, his wall crawling doesn't really work without those changes to his muscles and skeleton that allow him to easily contort and shimmy on surfaces with relative comfort. I mean, ever notice how he gets really up close to the wall when he really starts moving with speed? Peter is practically ramming his dick against the wall and has his legs halfway to spread eagle.
This doesn't work for a spider faunus, since they only get one trait, and thus their internals don't get any of that nifty radioactive spider-blood.

I've been thinking about that and I wonder how much of that is pure faunus-ness. A while back people were assuming that Tyrian's semblance was producing venom since his eyes changed. Futhermore it seems odd that IIia's colour changing can be put down to faunusness since it changed not just her skin, but her eyes AND hair as well. Her trait would pretty much be "Chameleon everything" as opposed to a single piece of anatomy. I figure it's more likely that colour changing is her semblance and venom is Tyrian's; that their identity as a faunus is reflected in their powers.

With how fast he got to Salem's, he could easily have brought Ruby to her lair still alive but very very poisoned.

I really hope M&K aren't going to treat Qrow's poisoning like it was just a status effect in an RPG like after he gets an antidote he becomes 100% in a few days. Hopefully, in order to make him more efficient, his poison does permanent damage, especially to Qrow who could be dead as far as we know.

A second really powerful Semblance.
It seems like it basically makes you able to create massive amounts of a certain element (or more than one) that you can control. And whilst that may not be particularly subtle, creating a tornado or a wall of fire and make it rain lightning is pretty fucking OP in any combat situation.

Combine that with whatever Semblance and Weapons training they already have and you've got an incredible fall back, if nothing else.

They also say that it has nothing to do with Aura so it could be that using those powers isn't much of a stamina drain. (Cinder looked tired this ep but she's crippled as fuck right now so her Aura might be suffering regardless, or maybe she was just fighting for ages idk).

Basically like Blackbeard in One Piece, nobody is supposed to be able to have 2 Devil Fruit powers, but he has. And that added versatility makes him incredibly dangerous, one handy and fairly versatile power on top of massive combat experience, then he gets a second one that's basically just massive large scale damage all the time. It's a great combination and all of the Maidens have it.
