Pepper Ann was fairly similar, though it had a more lighthearted atmosphere, generally speaking.

Same with As Told by Ginger, only in the opposite direction.

For all the bad points this show had, there was some sincerity buried in all the teen melodrama and Canadian "humor," and that elevates it from watchable to mildly enjoyable.

The episode where Maria has a crsuh on her teacher, and thik he reciprocates it, because he asks her to come to a restaurant.
There were other children as well.

For a show with continuity it's amazing how little the lead learns through the course of the show. She remains very self-absorbed. The episode where she yelled at duck hunters was like the writers were deliberately making her look like an ass.

This show is so ugly it's an argument in favor of even hideous early Flash.

There was an episode that faked-out on the shitty political stuff where Sharon thought her divorced non-resident dad's new girlfriend was doing something or other regarding animals but she turned out not to be. At the end of the episode Sharon starts crying and admits to her dad that she's just not comfortable seeing him with another woman. A high point.

If I'm remembering correctly her grandad WAS a bit racist, but the surprising outcome for a show from Canuckistan was for her to decide it didn't define him as a person or negate the love he had shown her her whole life.

In the same episode Maria gets a crush on an Arab boy who's kind of a prick and rashly accuses Sharon of racism for not liking him.

Odd to see from a show which had an earleir episode about how you should use any means necessary, including crime, to satisfy your pet politics.

Funny, i've been talking to crixuz (biggest faggot on the site) on FunnyJunk about 6 months ago constantly about what he remembers from an episode of Braceface that had Sharon and Co. harassed and beaten by these 2 antagonist girls while swimming at a pool. I heard with him of alot of the details of the episode like how it seemed similar to an episode of The Mighty B! (it's name was Dragonflies), how things went in the episode (like Maria doing a front dive into the pool similar to Penny in that TMB! episode), and I heard it also had a good moral at the end about anti-harassment. I mean, think the Codename: Kids Next Door pilot episode with elements of Revenge of the Nerds, The Warriors, and the Family Guy episode "Peter-assment". Does this episode (or at least an episode like this) exist in the show? If so, what was the episode's name? I've been anxious about it for more than 6 months now and I question it's existence. I hope so, as I thought there was barely an episode totally like that.
