What's good about this character? She seems so pointless

She is good.

Military girl who appears to be military (unlike Trash Danvers).

Token minority with actual good stories (unlike Kamala).

And her book usually allows the artists to go cray cray without sacrificing the plot or character development (unlike Spider-Woman).

Nothing that I can tell so far, other than she's gay, she's just a less enjoyable Bruce. Hell, the focus on this character made me drop Detective Comics off my pull list. I'm getting ready to pick it back up for the next arc though since she won't be the main focus again.

I think her popularity stems from the artwork used in her solo, kind of the same way New 52 Batman was popular.
