I am noticing a trend of "Marco wouldn't do that" vs "Star wouldn't do that". And I am noticing that it's usually Jarco fans that think better of Marco, and Starco fans that think better of Star.

Both of them are flawed, but I guess people tend to be more biased towards who they feel is the actual main character of the show or who they most identify with.

I will say this though. I think it's a little silly to think that Marco is more likely to behave like a shithead in "x situation" vs Star behaving like a shithead, when most of the hot water that they tend to land in is usually because Star was behaving like a shithead. Not that she's a bad person, I just feel like she's more likely to cause a problem than Marco is.

Marco is a functional insecure weinie though, even if he got literally no character development from episode 1A, he would still be decent. Star was pretty much introduced to the concept of consequences at the start of the story.

It even extends to how they fight. Marco is a disciplined fighter, who can pretty much beat everything that can be beat by sufficient hands. My theory is that Star's feelings will actually get the better of her. And since she commands the power of MAGIC she can do literally whatever she wants. When spoken about it just in general terms, 'MAGIC' is the most OP shit by default. So she does something to alter Jackie's and Marco's relationship and further hers and Marco's. Without either of them being aware. Before the finale Marco finds out either by himself or because Star just can't keep it to herself anymore. That's when their relationship becomes strained.
