Do people here all agree that the Ogrest OVAs were pieces of SHIT?

I just discovered they were a thing, so I watched them and my reaction throughout the entire thing was just, What the fuck? This is the shittiest writing I've ever seen. Apparently Ogrest is an actual thing now, and also he flooded the kingdom by crying..uhh, ok, I'll roll with it. But then, the Ice Count dude wants to marry Amalia so he can burn her trees for firewood... what? There is so much wrong with that. HOW did the town even begin if they had no fucking trees, WHY would the count think he could get away with it, he would have to fucking show up at the Sadida Kingdom and say "lol can i haz all ur trees thanks" and uh, that would likely not only end the marriage, but the Sadidas would just abruptly say no??? Not to mention there's that random garden thing that the count has with all those trees and vegetation in it, WHY can't the count just use those? The count would be a cool character if he wasn't so fucking retarded. When Amalia finds out the Count wants to burn down her forests, no shit that Amalia turns against him, why the fuck would he think she'd do otherwise?

Dofus is subscription based, and on the whole isn't bad. They changed a lot of things since I first played it. You can find more if you lurk recent forum posts about the game. Dofus and Wakfu still has a fairly large following in France and there is a fair amount of English speaking players for it.

Wakfu is currently f2p, but you can purchase booster packs that increase xp and gold gains. They're useful but not imperative to accomplishing what you need.

Expect to grind a fair amount for items though. Luckily enemy drops are increased through combat challenges and the like.

From here on out I'm going to talk about Wakfu, as Dofus I'm not as familiar with.

In Wakfu there are no NPCs that you can sell goods to, or buy from. Everything is player input. Even the environment (in terms of resources) is player input. As such, you can (theoretically) make a particular resources (tree, plant, crop, animal, etc) extinct in the game. As such it is an incentive (as you can become a criminal) to plant (trees, crops, plants, and animals) by harvesting their seeds and spreading them around. Then you harvest them.

The only resources that are infinite in the game are ores, and fish. They respawn in their designated spots with relative quick succession.

In order to deal with bots in the game they instituted a captcha cat. Now this cat is by far the greatest thing in the game. You want this to happen. You complete the captcha in the minigame and you get 40 of the resource, some gold and your prospecting stays in good standing. You fail and your prospecting plummets (even to the point of getting no resources from harvesting), which can only be reversed with time or succeeding with another captcha cat.

There are a number of quest lines you can follow that helps with xp gains and item acquisitions. They even follow lore to some extent or another.

If you're a fan of turn based combat, then give Wakfu a shot.

It seems the Dofus MMO brought some light on the Ouginak God.
When he was a young god, he found a bone: the bone that accidentaly caused Mongrelamus to rip the veil between the universe of Gods and the universe Demons when he burrowed it.
Ouginak then bit the bone with his flaming jaw and from the burnt bits of the bone the first ouginaks were born.
Ouginak is also related to Ecaflip in some way. Unfortunately the player in the stream didn't ask about that, so we'll have to wait until they're actually in the game.

Unfortunately the classes aren't balanced. They are working on fixing them and some classes had changes in the last year. Iop for instance became pretty powerful on the whole.

However, it really depends. For instance, Ecaflips (the class I chose) can one shot or essentially stomp on anyone if they get consistent crits. Ecaflips can also shit the bed hard. Ecaflips draw tarrot cards that can affect not only themselves but the enemies too. For instance, one tarrot card may heal or reverse a previous turns damage on an enemy. Another card could knock down their current health by a third (without the enemy attacking them).

I'd suggest researching the classes before you play and find what best suits you. Also, find out which elements you'd like as well. As everyone (outside Foggernaughts) have three elements out of four that their spells are based on. The elements are: Fire, Water, Earth, Air. This will also affect what items you can use as items in the game (even the weapons, until late game), as they are just stat boosters.

I was curious about the Maskemane class at one point, but apparently they're complete shit right now at the moment. Again you'll need to do some research on it, and there are people who posted on the forums giving a full breakdown of each class on what they are great and terrible at.

I think you went into the movie expecting too much. I'm not saying you should always be expecting less, but you should put preconceived notions of prior media aside.

Think to the story they told, what benefit would there have been in introducing Lou, SImone, and Indie? The movie is trying to introduce characters and a setting to people who are not familiar with previous iterations. You'd lose time re-introducing those characters into the story.

From the many different times they slowly built on it? He was instantly stricken by her and kept trying to show off and such. When she stopped to observe or found herself in the situation that allowed her to be smitten it always was bit by bit. It wasn't all at once and she always got time to reset from his woo/charm.

She even let him have some of her frustration and then he bugs out. It was to bring in adult joke/innuendos. I mean, how could they not when you have fairly adult like characters in the show together like that.

It certainly is a nice departure from the norm where they have to downplay it all the time in similar stories. Here it was straight up hormones and physicality that was at play. Which was absolutely hilarious as they kept getting further and further with it only to be stopped when the story called for it.

It was meant to be a bit humour for the adults watching it that relaxes them from the adventure aspect of the story. Its the whole, 'this happened, therefore this occurs, but then this reaction, therefore' sort of story telling. It worked pretty well on the whole.

The lack of recognizable character was just one part of why I didn't like it. Like I said the new ones had next to no decent development, by the end of the movie I felt like I knew just as little about them as the beginning. Also, the romance was the worst part, they had no chemistry and romantic moments other than the guy flexing or doing some other thing to impress her that no one would actually be impressed with and her blushing for no reason. I think the whole movie would have benefitted from just removing the buufball guy all together and focused more on the other characters.

Ankama is far from going bankrupt IMO. Dofus is still doing pretty nice, the movie was just ok, they didnt loose too much money iirc, Krosmaga seems to be doing nice, and the crowdfunding of season 4 was a success. Everything seems pretty alright. Maybe the Netflix partnership will help them
