Here's one from a show I'm planning

A young street urchin girl with a big, tremendously fat cigar in her mouth at almost all times. The girl has long, messy, hair that reaches her ankles, a ragged brown dress, and a big newsie cap. She has an Australian accent and her voice is usually slightly muffled by the cigar being in her mouth. Personality wise, she’s about halfway between tomboyish and girly, with a love for adventure She also has a love for all things explosive, and often lights whatever explosive she can find with the huge stogie in her mouth. She usually lights her cigar with either a match, or anything that happens to be on fire or exploding nearby.

The ghosts of her parents often manifest in the smoke of her cigar. They continue to be loving parents even beyond the grave as they help her with advice. She also secretly loves reading, though she claims to be illiterate.

Breaking out of using stock-still rectangles and squares for my panels I think. I feel like a degree of energy is lost in one the page when most panels look the same. I could very well be wrong though, I'm admittedly very amateur.

My girl Mary (right), and another Mary who belongs to some Jerk on tumblr. He did a doodle of our Marys in 80s clothes, and I responded with this. I forget if I posted this last thread..?

This was one of very few recent instances outside my comic that I used regular ol' lineart, and I'm still unsure how I feel about it. It could just be "I'm my own worst critic" syndrome, but my lineart always feels too... Sharp, I guess? Not sure how to describe it, but I've come to far and away prefer doing "lineart" like http://i.imgur.com/AFNsW4l.png But it takes so much longer to line even just one character this way, so I've been wanting to get back to normal lineart.

Also the sole pureblood human in Newfarrow, sporting no animal features. Will stop at nothing to prevent Zachariah from conquering the land. Average body size and weight.
>Leigh, soldier turned mail carrier when the war ended. Sports a pair of rabbit ears from the top of her head and longer feet than usual. Found Anne in a ditch, unconscious from the journey here, and is helping her on her quest. Great shot with a crossbow and can drink a man three times her size under the table, although she usually isn't the first to take things seriously. Average chest, THICC hips and slightly shorter than Anne.
>Gomorrah, conman by day and thief by night. Enjoys expensive things, especially stolen goods, but cannot stand living or acting humbly. Helps Anne and Leigh break out of the prison they all got sent to, and tagged along when he heard their quest. Has a pair of downward-curved horns, black and polished, sprouting from the top of his head. Very tall and muscular, punctuating his strength.
>Diego, a hermit who commanded Leigh's platoon in the war, Very stubborn and crude, yet wise and cunning, he can cook an amazing breakfast. Is contacted by Leigh to help train Anne to defeat Zachariah. A turtleshell-esque plating covers his back, and he seldom wears shirts due to it getting itchy. Used to be lean and fit, now age has shortened and fattened him slightly.
>Mont-Claire, prince to King Mont-DuPris, dreams of going on an adventure, He is very smart and fit from private schooling/training, but lacks experience from a sheltered life in the castle and is socially awkward. His hands and feet are covered in a hard scale, and his eyes are a deep amber with slits for irises. Lean and short, he still has some growing to do.

So Chinese New Year is coming up, and I was planning on drawing something for it, but I've been unable to work out a definite idea.

It's the year of the Red Fire Chicken, who is considered to be reliable, enterprising and competitive. They are associated with wealth and jewelry, and of course fire or candle-light.

I've made a few sketches, but so far they don't seem to get all the required elements; there's always something missing.

Wealthy and Enterprising suggests Business or a jewelry seller, but I can't figure out how to get Fire into the image.

The Socialite has Wealth and Jewelry (and the candelabra represents Fire) but is missing the Competive personality trait.

The Biker is Competive and I can work in the flame decals, but again they're missing the Wealth aspect.

Obviously I'm not going to get this finished in time for actual CNY (Jan 28th) but I'd like to get it completed sooner rather than later.

Any suggestions or ideas? Is there some other angle I'm missing?

Not really my character but my friends. I jut drew my own version of her

The character is called Bee

Working on something of a hybridization of various ideas that I've had. I wanted to do something "cosmic' oriented, but seeing as how I'm already doing something along those lines with a Green Lantern/Doc Fate Hybrid called "Centurion Nouveau", I reluctantly had to scrap it

The story itself follows three highly trained marines who are subjugated to experimentation via an alien object that contains traces of DNA from a long since dead race of proud warriors. When the light rays from the object hit their bodies (two males, one female), they merge into one being nicknamed "Black Alice" for her lithe and androgynous features. Her power set would be something similar to Superman Blue

Still trying to work out the exact limits of my shifter, Sugar's capabilities.She can only grow things that would appear on a regular person, so it's mostly body-based. She can, however, make an additional body, though it must be attached to her. She is also unable to grow an additional brain, which means that the extra head is entirely mindless and basically just a muscle of the original brain. However, she can move it's muscles and even control it's vocal cords to give it the illusion that it has a mind of it's own.

This is my oc, Rococo Feathersworth, she runs a bakery, and is a former magical girl, although she doesn't like being called that.

She is dressing up as cupid to promote her valentine's day special "individually wrapped, heart-shaped pink strawberry short cake".

She is much older than she looks, and in her words, built up a "ridiculous resume" over the years. She has taken to mentoring young heroes, although she is not above kicking it with the rest of them from time to times.

The concept was she comes from a kingdom of women so she's never seen a man before. However her paranoia made her believe them to be a threat so she vowed to protect her kingdom from them. She later finds out they're not so bad. Not like great or anything but not really inherently evil.

Finalizing this design for a comic.

Basically wonder woman with a constellation theme and a very vague pinochio motiff.

Her whole deal is that she loves everyone and wants to save the world, but knows literally fuck all about the world since she's a weird magic space person. So her point of reference is a little warped since she lands in the middle of syria and tries to make everyone be friends.

i simply just googled images of seagulls for reference, but i'm confused about the tail feathers thing you're talking about, are you referring to panel 1 as panel 1? (the bird standing) or panel 1 as panel 2? (the bird flying), all i can say is that the seagulls tail feathers spread when they fly.
regardless, i'm ok with criticism, i just really wanted to make this for a long time.

The two on the left are a pair of fraternal twins (secondary characters) whereas the boy on the right is an orphaned boy with supernatural powers (main character). There's a villain(s) as well, but I haven't gotten around to inking it/them yet.

Figuring out poses for another animation.

Here's two ideas I've had for a while.

One is a black teenage girl from southern Louisiana. She is from a poor, rural part of it. She has short, curly hair, somewhere of average height, and a bit thin. One of her main goals is to get her and her family out of this part of Louisiana when she's old enough and has money. She does enjoy going to a nearby swamp without her mother's permission and with her friends.

One day, she gets into an accident in the swamp and finds a Mcguffin that gives her powers. I'm not sure what they are, but I'm thinking about something like Spider-man, but with a alligator instead. Her skin is tougher, becomes a great swimmer, and what you expect from an alligator. When she gets these powers, she's not sure what to do. Should she use these powers to become an amazing athlete and get her family out of this region? Or should she help the community and help it become a better place?

The other is a teenage white guy who lives in Middle or East Tennessee where his family consists of farmers or small business owners. He is a bit of a shitbird and troublemaker. He enjoys boxing with his older brother, adventuring in the woods, and hunting with his older sister. He has dirty blonde hair, green eyes, above average height, and a build of a very active male.

Eventually he does something really stupid and his parents send him to his Aunt and Uncle in middle of nowhere Nevada he used to visit. One day, he becomes a vigilante. He eats shit in the beginning because he has near zero budget, but he eventually gits gud. He does meet people who don't mind supplying him with gadgets and costumes because he saved them from a home invasion. He also meets people such as a friendly demon girl who wants him do stupid shit with her and a Native American girl who he was close to when he was a kid that is also a vigilante.

Both these main characters learn what being a hero means in there own way.

I'm planning to finally work on a comic thats been sitting in the backburner for quite sometime.

Basic premise:
A squad of 4 soldiers of the Titan Orbital Defense Troopers uncover the genetic reconstruction of one of the universes dragon-like creators in a direlect ship belonging to their military. He breaks free with their help and brings forth all sorts of chaos. Realizing their error, they try to stop him, uncovering all sorts of twisted shit their government has pulled, including the near mass genocide of the human race, and more.

I planned on starting the story with the group just trying to get acclimated with each other, each having their own reasons for not wanting to work with each other. Its a blend of scifi and fantasy, with non human characters. .

Two members of The Showoffs.

The horse is a french aristocrat watched a lot of cheesy 80s movies as a kid and grew up to become an Americaphile. She works out constantly and dyes her hair blonde to, "resemble America's beautiful, amazon women" and took up the saxophone in hopes of becoming a famous jazz musician. When she became an adult, she moved to America and moves in with the rabbit on the right.

Said rabbit is an internet millionaire with an ever-expanding collection of pop culture merchandise. He got bored doing nothing after all his high-school buddies went off to college and decided on a whim to rent out his house. As luck would have it, the horse took him up on the offer and quickly fell in love with him for introducing her to all this "American media". Despite living the dream, he's actually kind of a jerk and generally bitter and Lord only knows how the horse puts up with him.

Of course. If she took the vigilante route, criminals would be absolutely horrified being around water. Same would go if she became a professional wrestler.

I'm thinking Gator eyes. Maybe she does a sort of a shapeshift where she can go back and forth, but it hurts like hell because of how much she changes.

Maybe. I haven't looked into the eating habits of gators.

She's a fan of whatever her mom put on her plate. But the answer is yes.

Late night content bumpu!

Well, this year I made a New Year's resolution to do certain things - one of which is to do a comic. It'll most likely be web - although I'll probably send it to a company (perhaps Dark Horse) just for the joy of getting a rejection letter.
The comic will be called 'Regalia', a dark fantasy comic. Lots of violence being preformed by ultra-cute characters.
Due to a near-legendary tendency to not finish projects, I'm working on a very simple design for the main characters in the story, so I can at least crank it out with some speed and not get bogged down drawing ultra-realistic art. <cont>

Not sure how comics on the web are 'officially' done - but the plan is to have a Tumblr account for updates, WIP, pinups and such. Perhaps even one of those kind of roleplaying days where you can ask main characters questions.
The main comic will be set up on a proper web page. While I could get pages on a more official group site, I'll probably just rent server space. This will give me more control over my content (and keep pesky adds from flooding my page). While this will cut down on traffic a lot, the tumblr page will generate foot traffic to a degree.

A sample of the hard inks I'm thinking of using.

I'm actually waffling between using actual pen and doing it in ball point. While ball point does have a lot of drawbacks, it does produce a line that is pretty unique in the art world.
I'm going to do this panel in hard inks first, then use a lightbox to redraw it in ball point, just to compare the two finished works and see if I can decide which one fits the comic better.

Okay, still setting transparency for background and detailing stuff later, but this is good for now.

When loading up layer frames I forgot about how I numbered some of them, but that ended up giving me a different version of the gif that I actually thought was kind of interesting--I didn't even notice it was a mistake until reviewing it. I feel like the inbetweens of the arm movement are sketchy as fuck, but that's kind of circumvented with the blinking starting earlier, so you're primarily looking at that instead while her arm moves. Didn't actively plan it like that, but it helps.

Well, you see, Whipkick and Goggles were born on this impossibly large planet named Arret, which has strange qualities. Everyone born on this planet obtains a "Talent", which allows anyone to bend spacetime with their will, strength and mind.
Whipkick has a very blatant spacetime bending ability; Spacetime Warping. Whipkick can exceed the speed of light by a great number of times without creating acausality, as well as a plethora of other abilities.
Goggles also has a Talent. Omnimanufacturing. She can create absolutely any machine with any function she desires, so long as she has the resources/time.
Whipkick is the Brawn, Goggles is the Brain.
