>What is the Hasbro Shared Universe?
Remember when you were a kid and you'd put all your toys together, making Snake Eyes and Flint ride on Optimus Prime while you pretended that your M.A.S.K. Thunderhawk could turn into something that wasn't a car with its doors open? It's basically that.

Kind of figured Skywarp just joined because no one else wanted him and the Joes offered to help.

He's so mean (what else is new?) but seeing how he helped the team against the enhanced robo ninjas when Rock told him he saved his ass I guess he also feels indebted.

That said I'm betting he's just going to end up warming up to the team

I'm happy Optimus has gained somewhat of an ally in Soundwave.

He just keeps losing loyal allies with power, man. For years, his best allies and friends either die, or go insane. Once Shockwave was a senator and his friend, then he became crazy as fuck. Then for millenia, Prowl's one of his lieutenants- and now he's gone crazy. Ironhide's retired and gone into the private sector. Bumblebee is dead. The Matrix is broken...

Why is the writers have such a hard on for putting Prime againts near impossible odds, when pretty much every Cybertronian should KNOW in their sparks that Optimus Prime is a fucking goddamn legend who needs to be given a fucking break and listened to?

I like how Soundwave described his relationship with Optimus "We were allies, then enemies, he blackmailed me and that's why I joined up with him and I know he can fuck me over, but we're friends now!"

>>89401672
Dogs will eat anything.

>And a guy in a Hawaiian t-shirt
Chuckles ;___;

>>89401680
Ahhh shit so they did make Flint into her dad, he must be like in his 50's at the least but then again who is Marissa's mom? It can't be Jaye since she looks way too young to be her mother.

Also I feel like there's a bit of a strained relationship here.

>Marissa: That your girlfriend out there?
>Flint: What? No. Good Lord. She's...
>Marissa: Barely older than me?
>Flint: I was going to say "Not quite a sociopath"

OK I can see why, Jesus Flint.

>>89401727
Misfits!

>>89401734
TC is so cute and I love that he tried to get Marissa a job as the condition to help the Flint and the others out with the Junkions.

>The Chuckles Story
I gotta admit it was a good story but it was pretty dark, I would see a movie of that.

Why is Starscream so trash?

>>89401780
God Rumble and Frenzy don't be shit to Soundwave.

>>89401793
Awww fuck no! Cosmo!!!

This comic was gud too and Soundwave's narration was interesting and from what I'm seeing he has trouble connecting with others (which I guess makes Ravage's death more sad because Ravage is one of the few who he did).

Damn well seeing how young Jaye is in the Joe comic it wasn't going to be her.

I guess she's legitimate now since he gave her his last name but honestly it's really weird and I hope Marissa's mom doesn't turn out to be a random literally who woman.

So who would be sociopath enough to date Flint? Well I know he was joking but my mind went to Baroness since she could totally rock the older Milf look and I can see her doing some crazy shit to stay young looking especially with the sci-fi elements introduced to the Joe universe.

I doubt it's her although that would be one fucked up twist.

I was wondering when we would hear Frenzy and Rumbles opinion on Soundwaves new alliance with Prime, glad it was brought up. Unfortunately for Soundwave they don't seem fond of him anymore. Also in regards to other things within this issue...Optimus, Soundwave is risking so much for you. He's basically the only one who has genuine, non-blinded, faith in Optimus. If he doesn't reach best friend status in Primes eyes by the end of whatever will be this books first season, I will be furious. Seriously, poor Soundwave seems like he wants to be friends too.

To be fair, it may not be exactly that (I think a previous Salvo has appeared in IDW's joe series)

But GI Joe now seems to reuse codenames.
For instance, the current Doc is the old Doc's daughter.

I bet if Dashiell dies, Marissa would take over the Flint codename.

Way back when the war first ended, the Autobots implanted Identification/Deterrence chips in the cons' heads, allowing them to go free, but if they tried to restart the war, they could detonate them.

Horri-Bull and Needlenose were beating up some Neutrals, and were going too far... so Bumblebee felt he had to activate the bomb in Horri-Bull's head. Big boom, Needlenoses' Conjunx Endura was dead, he was furious at the bots, and was a major figure in the cons for a while, and even became the public face.

Uuuunfortunately, the cons had figured out how to bypass the chips, in preparation for Megatron's return and their uprising. Soundwave had complete control.

And he activated Horri-Bull's chip so people wouldn't find out.

So now Soundwave, leader of the "nice" Decepticons, is working with Needlenose. And Optimus found this out, and made Soundwave work with him, or he'd tell Needlenose.

http://www.cbr.com/idw-publishing-jem-and-the-holograms-ending-in-april-will-return/

As seen in IDW Publishing’s freshly released April 2017 solicitations, the “Jem and the Holograms” ongoing series will end its run with issue #26 by Kelly Thompson and Gisele Lagace, the third and final part of the “Truly Outrageous” arc. But as you might expect, there’s an encore planned for the acclaimed comic based on the ’80s animated series created by Christy Marx — and fans can expect it as soon as this summer.

“Our ‘last issue’ — ‘Jem and The Holograms’ #26 — coming out in April is oversized, including 24 pages of story and lots of extras, so I hope the fans will enjoy that,” Thompson said in a statement to CBR. “However, ‘Jem and The Holograms’ is not over, not by a long shot. In fact, I’d say the most exciting thing we’ve ever done is in our very near future. I can’t say what it is yet, but look for it this summer. It’s not hyperbole to say it’s going to change everything about the Jem universe!”

While it’s not yet known what the next “Jem” project is, it’s notable that last year IDW united most of its other Hasbro properties into a shared universe via the “Revolution” event. While seeing Jem and the Holograms in the same stories as the Transformers and G.I. Joe may be a long shot, it would certainly fulfill Thompson’s promise that “everything” will change about the Jem universe.
>>
Despite being a well-known property, “Jem and the Holograms” didn’t have much of a history in comic books before IDW’s series started in 2015. While the “Jem” movie released in the same year was a critical and commercial flop, the comic book, written by Thompson and primarily illustrated by Sophie Campbell, was well-received due to its surprisingly sophisticated take on the franchise.

“The comics market is so tough these days, especially for ‘ongoing comics’ that when we started ‘Jem and The Holograms’ I don’t know if any of us ever thought we’d make it to 12 issues…let alone 26 plus annuals and specials… that’s almost 650 pages of ‘Jem’ if my math is right,” Thompson said. “And that’s just incredible. I find myself very thankful to all the fans for such an amazing and successful run as well as grateful and awed by all the incredible artists I got to work with along the way.”

Also in April, the “Jem: The Misfits” miniseries, written by Thompson and illustrated by Jenn St-Onge, will wrap with issue #5. Solicitation text for both “Jem and the Holograms” #26 and “Jem: The Misfits” #5 follow.

Mainframe and Soundwave was a good surprise, especially if you consider he hated Soundwave for killing some of his friends during AHM.

Mains likes him now since Soundwave saved his butt and is a decent bot deep down but it must be hella awkward liking someone you know killed some of your buddies, it's an interesting minor relationship.

And yeah I'm all for Cybertronians and humans not being asshole to each other and aside from Qian and Spike everyone in the Joe team seems to be either neutral or OK with the Cybertronians.
>>
>>89420045
Nah, it's just a continuation of Micronauts, with several guest stars. They're turning it into a miniseries format like the -ations were. IDW's been returning to that format for quite a few series.
>>
>>89420136
She's going to be the most important human in Cybertron and her life will get crazier once she steps into the crazy politics of Cybertron.

This would bolster her role in the story even higher than before though seeing how she's going to be one of Primes pawns in this game. She even rejoined the not-EDC who have been in every issue of exOP so far. After all, it's not like she will be living on Cybertron.

Is Optimus wrong?
He's being an imperialist but is enforcing absolutely nothing other than the opportunity for Earth to use Cybertronian technology and NOT get fucked over for it. Joining the council of world's would make things easier. Hell, the Cybertronians could probably LEAVE after that since there would be no more reason to stay after kicking Onyx Primes ass.
>>
Shameless bump.

>>
>>89401661
Not exactly a high bar
>>
>>89423600
Optimus may be slightly Imperialist, but he has Earth's best interests at heart. Optimus Prime is not trying to usurp control over Earth, or RULE Cybertron with an iron fist.

He wants whats best for everybody, and everybody makes it impossible for him to be Prime.

I miss the days where Optimus Prime was revered as a unstoppable force, and he could defeat the enemy with a jaunty rock tune and if necessary opening the Matrix and lightning the darkest hour.

Nowadays, everyone disrespects Prime.Isnt he STILL the same near unstoppable combat force that defeats entire armies with a rousing rock soundtrack behind him and twelve well paced headshots?
>>
>>89424989
>and everybody makes it impossible for him to be Prime.
I would argue the disloyalty and stubborness amongst his comrades is due to Primes behavior as of late. He's been very manipulative and sketchy. His sudden "belief" in his primacy being divine is also bullshit in the eyes of his old companions like Jetfire because they KNOW he's just using it to get people to follow him.

All that being said, the only reason he manipulates people is because he has very good intentions to be fufilled like you said and it's the easiest way but then again, this is the same series with Prowl who's also manipulated people out of "good intentions" in the past as well and look how that turned out.
>>
>>89425096
His Primacy IS fucking 'divine'.
I mean, the damn guy doesnt even NEED the Matrix!

The fucking Titan was on Earth, and even though the Matrix is broken, it still stood up and hailed him as the ONE TRUE PRIME.

Does anybody have Optimus Prime 1 and 2?
>>
>>89425205
See that's the thing. I agree his primacy IS divine but Optimus is somehow still skeptical to it and thus he's not genuine about his own claims to divinity while using it as means of power. If he TRULY believed in himself the same way everyone else did perhaps it wouldn't rub his companions the wrong way, but he doesn't seem to. TAAO's Revolution tie-in made a great example of that hypocrisy.
So far the only person who doesn't have blind faith and genuinely believes in Prime is Soundwave out of the main cast.

>>89425352
They have guys in Caminus but I guess the Caminians just aren't into Cybertronian guys.

>>89423600
Well he's the only one trying to fix the mess that the Autobot vs Decepticon war did to Earth and if he hadn't intervene and just left Earth it would have been fucked over by Galvatron and his Decepticons or whatever other alien race especially since Earth has Ore-13.

So yeah ultimately he's making it so Earth doesn't get fucked over even if he has to take control of some things.

The thing is that the rest of the parties involved aren't cooperating, Starscream doesn't want to make Earth a colony and the other representatives don't give a shit, The Earth leaders can't get their shit together and appoint a representative, most humans just want the Cybertronians to GTFO, the Junkions just arrived on Earth and are being fucking sketchy, etc...

So yeah he's doing some shady and questionable stuff even if he's super uncomfortable but his intentions are good and it will ultimately benefit Earth but it's just that no one sees it that way.

Optimus' little grandstanding has cost her her jobs. He colonised Earth and expected them all to be grateful.

Marissa would probably hate him, until she realised he was the basis for Susan Journeyer's older sister.

And then she'd have to share with him all of Thundercracker's screenplays.

And of course, Screamer actually being relatively in favour for an Independent Earth would go well with Earth's interests.
>>
>>89402464
I don't think the mask actually betrayed them, as such, it just knew the best way to prove a point was through visual aids. So it creates a bad end version to prove a point. These versions were what it wanted them to see. So it screws over and creates an alternate group just to prove a point to the dudes we're following.

Time travel is fun, confusing, and horrible.

Jazz and the Holograms.
>>
>>89427820
I don't think TC would like the idea of her setting foot on Cybertron. Her being a badass on Earth is one thing but Cybertron is riddled with problems and there would be angry "fuck fleshies" Cybertronians going after her.

TC would probably leave Buster with DOC and Bob and escort Marissa himself everytime she needed to go to Cybertron and yeah he probably wouldn't leave her alone with Starscream even if Marissa can fucking handle herself with the Screamer.
>>
>>89427897
>>89428059
GI Joe taking over and the President being shit is what cost her her job.

Yeah she doesn't have her back and TC using Flint to offer one didn't go well (I think we're suppose to assume she said no but Flint never gives an answer aside from a dirty look) and she would have eagerly taken his offer had she been the leader but Flint told her Scarlett had that job (which IMO she's better for it since Scarlett can do the gray area better than Marissa) and Marissa doesn't want to be anyone's lackey and much less her dead beat father's.

Optimus making her the representative of Earth would be an attractive job for her and in a way a promotion since she would pretty much become the most important human on Cybertron and probably on Earth and she gets to act for her people's best interest.

>>89438320
Given that cybertronians are millions year old death machines, it could be argued that their culture itself would perhaps violate the Accords
>>
>>89438320
Optimus is more concerned with Earth not getting fucked over more than anything and his approach isn't the best but it's all that protects Earth now.

So far Jazz and TC are the only ones trying to interact and understand human culture, I'm thinking Jazz will end up doing something with music and TC found pop culture and writing.

Pretty sure once there's some sort of peace established between Earth and Cybertron we will have an influx of Cybertronians on Earth and then in no time Cybertronians being constructed in the planet.
>>
>>89438752
I think the construction of other bots should probably be left for Cybertron. A huge population of humans already on Earth alongside a growing population of Cybertronians who just kind of invited themselves? It would look really bad. We don't even open our borders to other humans nor do most people like a heavy influx of refugees. Could you imagine actual aliens who only a few years ago nearly wiped out a quarter of your species?
>>
>>89419125
They had barely shown up and Swift hit it up with Barricade and got a whole mini for that, Sparkstalker picked up Lightbright and married her in record time.

It's actually ridiculous how quickly they got paired up. And stupid, considering Decepticons are the xenophobic faction, and that Cybertronian attraction model is default homosexual.

I think Wreck-Gar is too crazy to be truly evil. He's instability makes him easily malleable, but at the same time makes him a decent enough face for the Junkions since he suggests harmlessness and gullibility.

But who knows, they could all be the dupes of someone else, someone worse. Someone with multiple faces.
>>
>>89448302
At this point I can see him doing that, lol and I am sure he would be more amused about Rock and Grand Slam's subsequent fuck ups (since he saw Rock shooting Slam thinking he was Wraith and he didn't do shit about it), maybe he's amused by the whole thing and wants to see how long they can keep messing up.

Of course after awhile he is going to warm up to them and will do something to keep them from killing themselves but he'll be OK with some maiming here and there (and mainly because maiming is treating like nothing by Cybertronians, how many times do they lose limbs?).

I honestly think right now he doesn't give a shit about anything as long as he gets his warping ability repaired but once that happens he'll probably stick around because he has nowhere to go, he'll have warmed up to his team, he has a purpose again, and he'll want to stick around and see how things end for the Joes.

That said Sitterson really teased the Inhumanoids and it's obvious by their size that Skywarp is going to end up fighting one if them and I can't wait to see that.

The Junkions have always been hard to read and this time they're acting a bit creepy.

I know they want some of that Ore-13 and maybe they even want to settle in on the planet as well. And if they are still going with the whoke Junkions being cannibals thing I guess they also plan to scrap the Cybertronians.

But what I'm really concerned are the Quintessons, are they on that ship too?

I'm curious how long he'll remain a GI Joe buddy. He wants his teleportation fixed? Yeeeeeaah, it's actually Cobra who know a lot more about teleportation and can still pull it off in Revolutionaries. Skywarp is still a huge pile of rusty dicks, he just followed Blackrock to humanity hoping for a fix and that got him stuck with the Joes. He's already not happy about them digging in his systems to make their new weapons and other toys.

I wouldn't be surprise at this point if Cobra poaches him, at which point who would replace him? Thundercracker? Imagine those two dudes on the opposite end of a conflict.

Someone please explain what these wraiths are?
>>
>>89454741

Dire Wraiths. Something added from ROM being shoved into the TF universe. Basically, alien species that goes around infecting your DNA and turning you into more Wraiths. Has magic and technology.

ROM and the organization he belongs to, the Space Knights, are supposed to go around cleansing them from the universe since they're seen as a plague because all they do is keep taking over planets and turning other organics into themselves.

TF's probably barely care about them though, given they're not organic so Wraith's can't do much to them. But the rest of Earth is getting rocked by them because they tend to try and take over important targets and not just any schmuck on the street. Joe Colton (aka: GI Joe himself) was Wraith'd, as were quite a few other military/political personnel.

How did they not manage to take over everybody, then?

Revolution storyline+a bit of the ROM and GI Joe stuff covers that, more or less.

The tl;dr of it is "Everyone jumped up and down on them until they mostly died.". But now GI Joe (since they had a lot of the infestation) is trying to engineer a way to detect them properly after the White House was fucked up by a Wraith shitstorm.

So was this the only TF issue recently?

Yes.

Far as I can tell, the wraiths only recently arrived on Earth, so they couldn't just bodysnatch everyone with nukes quite yet.

'Til All Are One and Lost light have been delayed to February. A previous thread may have mentioned they had issues with their printers.

Kup is barely in Revolutionaries #1 which premiered this month; I don't think it's been storytimed here yet.

>Far as I can tell, the wraiths only recently arrived on Earth
No, it was established they've been on Earth since the 19th century. They haven't possessed the entire species because they probably don't have the numbers, and need to be more subtle and take their time (which Rom has said isn't something they usually do).

And Revolutionaries was storytimed.

Even though I caught that storytime, I gotta say, /co/ moves pretty damn fast overall. Sometimes it's hard to catch storytimes because they can vanish pretty quick once the story is done being posted.

Story times seem to be dying out a bit thanks to websites that offer easy reading online. Not all, of course, but I've noticed certain comics that used to garner storytimes have become very scarce

Thanks. But the text and pages are awfully small, kind of hard to read.

What happened to Zartan that Crystal Ball guy is leading the Drednoks?
>>
>>89461851

Not sure if that was shown.

nb4 Zartan is a Wraith.

I don't think IDW Zartan is part of the Dreadnoks.
