As seen in IDW Publishing’s freshly released April 2017 solicitations, the “Jem and the Holograms” ongoing series will end its run with issue #26 by Kelly Thompson and Gisele Lagace, the third and final part of the “Truly Outrageous” arc. But as you might expect, there’s an encore planned for the acclaimed comic based on the ’80s animated series created by Christy Marx — and fans can expect it as soon as this summer.

“Our ‘last issue’ — ‘Jem and The Holograms’ #26 — coming out in April is oversized, including 24 pages of story and lots of extras, so I hope the fans will enjoy that,” Thompson said in a statement to CBR. “However, ‘Jem and The Holograms’ is not over, not by a long shot. In fact, I’d say the most exciting thing we’ve ever done is in our very near future. I can’t say what it is yet, but look for it this summer. It’s not hyperbole to say it’s going to change everything about the Jem universe!”

While it’s not yet known what the next “Jem” project is, it’s notable that last year IDW united most of its other Hasbro properties into a shared universe via the “Revolution” event. While seeing Jem and the Holograms in the same stories as the Transformers and G.I. Joe may be a long shot, it would certainly fulfill Thompson’s promise that “everything” will change about the Jem universe.

Despite being a well-known property, “Jem and the Holograms” didn’t have much of a history in comic books before IDW’s series started in 2015. While the “Jem” movie released in the same year was a critical and commercial flop, the comic book, written by Thompson and primarily illustrated by Sophie Campbell, was well-received due to its surprisingly sophisticated take on the franchise.

“The comics market is so tough these days, especially for ‘ongoing comics’ that when we started ‘Jem and The Holograms’ I don’t know if any of us ever thought we’d make it to 12 issues…let alone 26 plus annuals and specials… that’s almost 650 pages of ‘Jem’ if my math is right,” Thompson said. “And that’s just incredible. I find myself very thankful to all the fans for such an amazing and successful run as well as grateful and awed by all the incredible artists I got to work with along the way.”

Is Optimus wrong?
He's being an imperialist but is enforcing absolutely nothing other than the opportunity for Earth to use Cybertronian technology and NOT get fucked over for it. I would argue the disloyalty and stubborness amongst his comrades is due to Primes behavior as of late. Well he's the only one trying to fix the mess that the Autobot vs Decepticon war did to Earth and if he hadn't intervene and just left Earth it would have been fucked over by Galvatron and his Decepticons or whatever other alien race especially since Earth has Ore-13.

So yeah ultimately he's making it so Earth doesn't get fucked over even if he has to take control of some things.

The thing is that the rest of the parties involved aren't cooperating, Starscream doesn't want to make Earth a colony and the other representatives don't give a shit, The Earth leaders can't get their shit together and appoint a representative, most humans just want the Cybertronians to GTFO, the Junkions just arrived on Earth and are being fucking sketchy, etc...

I don't think TC would like the idea of her setting foot on Cybertron. Her being a badass on Earth is one thing but Cybertron is riddled with problems and there would be angry "fuck fleshies" Cybertronians going after her.

TC would probably leave Buster with DOC and Bob and escort Marissa himself everytime she needed to go to Cybertron and yeah he probably wouldn't leave her alone with Starscream even if Marissa can fucking handle herself with the Screamer.

Yeah she doesn't have her back and TC using Flint to offer one didn't go well (I think we're suppose to assume she said no but Flint never gives an answer aside from a dirty look) and she would have eagerly taken his offer had she been the leader but Flint told her Scarlett had that job (which IMO she's better for it since Scarlett can do the gray area better than Marissa) and Marissa doesn't want to be anyone's lackey and much less her dead beat father's.

Optimus making her the representative of Earth would be an attractive job for her and in a way a promotion since she would pretty much become the most important human on Cybertron and probably on Earth and she gets to act for her people's best interest.

Optimus is more concerned with Earth not getting fucked over more than anything and his approach isn't the best but it's all that protects Earth now.

So far Jazz and TC are the only ones trying to interact and understand human culture, I'm thinking Jazz will end up doing something with music and TC found pop culture and writing.

Pretty sure once there's some sort of peace established between Earth and Cybertron we will have an influx of Cybertronians on Earth and then in no time Cybertronians being constructed in the planet.

I think Wreck-Gar is too crazy to be truly evil. He's instability makes him easily malleable, but at the same time makes him a decent enough face for the Junkions since he suggests harmlessness and gullibility.

But who knows, they could all be the dupes of someone else, someone worse. Someone with multiple faces.

At this point I can see him doing that, lol and I am sure he would be more amused about Rock and Grand Slam's subsequent fuck ups (since he saw Rock shooting Slam thinking he was Wraith and he didn't do shit about it), maybe he's amused by the whole thing and wants to see how long they can keep messing up.

Of course after awhile he is going to warm up to them and will do something to keep them from killing themselves but he'll be OK with some maiming here and there (and mainly because maiming is treating like nothing by Cybertronians, how many times do they lose limbs?).

I honestly think right now he doesn't give a shit about anything as long as he gets his warping ability repaired but once that happens he'll probably stick around because he has nowhere to go, he'll have warmed up to his team, he has a purpose again, and he'll want to stick around and see how things end for the Joes.

That said Sitterson really teased the Inhumanoids and it's obvious by their size that Skywarp is going to end up fighting one if them and I can't wait to see that.

The Junkions have always been hard to read and this time they're acting a bit creepy.

I know they want some of that Ore-13 and maybe they even want to settle in on the planet as well. And if they are still going with the whoke Junkions being cannibals thing I guess they also plan to scrap the Cybertronians.

But what I'm really concerned are the Quintessons, are they on that ship too?
