Yes. She is saying that she is the only one dedicated to banging Professor Xavier.
>>
>>89358050
Eh, not really.

She came off as basically a psychopath under Remender, and she's the one responsible for militarizing the X-Men. The only reason they started killing their enemies and acting like a military force was because she fucked things up so bad that they were forced to fight all their enemies at once to protect a massive population of depowered mutants that could no longer defend themselves.

She basically stabbed them, pushed them in the water, and then whined about it when they fought back against the sharks that came to eat them. I know writers wanted to get her past the shit Bendis did to her, but acting like she did nothing wrong and the X-Men were somehow to blame for all this shit wasn't the way to do it. It just makes her look like either a coward or a person with zero empathy. Neither of which should really be in the Avengers.

>>89358050
I've tried to get into Remender's Uncanny Avengers.
But I quickly got the feeling that he holds contempt for the X-Men franchise at large and it became a pretty unpleasant read.
I still don't understand why people were excited for him to take over the franchise. To me he seemed ill-suited to write the main-line X-titles.

I don't even dislike Remender. Actually Deadly Class is my favourite comic out right now.
>>
>>89361470
That's why Stan Lee's X-Men comics sold like garbage and got cancelled.
>>
>>89358050
As a Scarlet Witch fan I remember how glad I was to see her in an important ongoing book after being basically banned from comics since 2005.

Then this happened.

I get that Remender wanted to make Wanda and Rogue huge jackasses in the first issue so they would eventually learn their lesson and work together but FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
>>
>>89360736
It is a gene that causes mutations elsewhere in the DNA
>>
>>89361500
>I still don't understand why people were excited for him to take over the franchise

Because Uncanny X-Force was the last time an x-book was good and he wrote that. I mean, it couldn't have been worse than Bendis, right?
>>
>>89361525
And then at the end of the run he was forced to do that retcon so Wanda wasn't even a mutant or Magneto's daughter, so it was all for nothing anyway.
>>
Remender posted his original pitch a while back (just a collection of stock art of the characters he wanted). It's clear he wanted it to be more of a continuation of Uncanny X-Force and to have more prominent X-Men characters than it did.

I don't know how he got stuck with Havok as the lead.

>>89361631
Deep symbolism of being the guy that was forced to work as a government stool mutant now working as an Avengers stool mutant and the brother of mutant terrorist.
>>
>>89361525
What was worse was in issue #9 where he used Scarlet Witch as a mouthpiece to argue that Alex's speech in #5 was right all along and mutants aren't really a people. No wonder X-fans were out for her blood (it may be unfair to judge a character by one writer but it happens all the time).

After the confused mess that was her roles in Children's Crusade and Avengers vs. X-Men, Wanda needed careful handling to "fix" her after all those years of being out of the comics and The Worst Mutant In the World. Remender can do good work with lesser-used characters but he nearly ruined Wanda all over again.
>>
>>89361748
Where did it all go so wrong?
Bendis started it of course, but then it got aggravated so much.
>>

>>89361812
What happened was after "no more mutants" the X-books did years and years of stories showing the horrible things that happened as a result of Wanda's curse, but they couldn't actually use her because the Avengers office had dibs on her.

It took years for the Children's Crusade story to be greenlit and two more years for it to finish and by that time she had been out of the ongoing comics for so long that nobody knew who she was except Crazy Evil Mutant Curser.

not really. a gene can act as a trigger, drastically changing the effects of other genes. it's quite plausible that some "x" gene could cause a cascade effect and cause wildly different changes to people with different genes.

the silly part is that messing with your genes at all could somehow give you laser vision.

1) no mutants means the celestials nuke earth as an experiment that failed to produce results.
2) humans needs to be exposed to as many superpowered being as possible so that when they awaken their psionic potential in a thousands years they don't accidentally zero sum.
>>
>>89360736

and considering how many universal 'super power suppressor' devices have been invented over the years, it's clear that all superpowers derive from SOMETHING baseline.

The silly part is that one gene turns some people blue, turns some into frogs, gives some wings or creates portals to punch dimension in their corneas or belly-buttons.
They should just retcon the x-gene as an outdated, badly understood science, which is fairy realistic as far as real science goes.
What if x-gene created a protein that somehow attracts inter-dimensional symbiotic organisms?

>>89366780
thank you bros, i allways forget how's it named

>>
>>89369399
No, you see it makes perfect sense. By admitting that initial voodoo shark was bad you make the reader more sympathetic. Then you replace that voodoo shark with a new one (symbiotic inter-dimensional organism) which would sound more plausible with regards to modern biological science. Yes, there's still a shark, but you don't have to explain the new one, because it's complicated trans-dimensional science and that is a confusing, untapped ground. When future generations start complaining you make a new shark, that makes sense in accordance to future discoveries.
Cue Beast drawing some diagrams on the blackboard and shit. Problem solved!
Summers' symbiote's connect them to punch dimension. Wolverine's and Deadpool's to cancerverse, hence the regeneration. Kurt's to *bamf*dimension or some shit. Legion has a lot of those things, which is why he has so many powers, yet is crazy.
>>
>>89369929

Exactly. You see, modern audience are too smart to accept that some alien entity somehow affected the human body to give it abilities beyond the normal, so instead it should be something clever like alien entities somehow affecting the human body to give it abilities beyond the normal.

This guy gets it.
>>
>>89371393
It's just that the explanation of it being cause by a gene makes no sense. And strange organisms living in between dimensions and feeding off of the energy exchanged between the two is perfectly logical.
>>
>>89372609
so, organisms exist that can interact with other dimensions and have that interaction expressed in strange ways. But human mutants can't be the ones that do that because?
>>
>>89358050
That's why X-Men always work better when they're the oppressed underdogs. With them always being on the brink of extinction and always being exterminated, it's easy to forget they're some of the biggest pieces of shit humanity could offer.
>>
>>89364828
Noh-Varr was supposed to go back to the mantle after the whole Protector thing... then Carol happened.
>>
>>89372977
Because a gene is something that organisms proteins are based on. One gene can't make proteins that shoot lasers, teleport you and so on. Plus you have stuff like conversion of energy , which mutants are constantly breaking. Extending our proverbial shark further from genetics adapts x-men to the new era.

The Celestials were more interested in the Eternals and Deviants than mutants contrary to what recent retconning wants.

And humanity would become superpowered even without mutants. It might take longer or be a different path, but their Destiny Force potential would be unleashed at some point.

New fag to Xmen here pls help with questions

Was the school public? Did people know there was mutants there? Why didn't they just you know do what scared people do and blow it the fuck up?

We're the X-Men public? If so couldn't people put two and two together and realize that the guy with claws is as tall and angry as that other guy with claws who wears yellow?
>>
>>89385470
>Was the school public? Did people know there was mutants there?

In theory, up until Morrison's New X-Men run, no. The public thought it was just a private school run by some rich guy. During that run Xavier outed himself as a mutant and the school as a school for mutants.

>Why didn't they just you know do what scared people do and blow it the fuck up?

After they outed themselves plenty tried.

>We're the X-Men public?

Do you mean did they operate in secret, or did the world know that they were affiliated with Xavier and his school? If the latter, see above.

>If so couldn't people put two and two together and realize that the guy with claws is as tall and angry as that other guy with claws who wears yellow?

No, because Wolverine isn't tall, he's short.
