80 million years ago, most mammals were a rat like thing. Humans and whales had a common ancestor then.

Whales and bats are similar as many as two separate dinosaurs that we see as the same

Walking With Dinosaurs (the series, not the movie) is my personal favourite. I'm not sure if it's more /tv/ or /co/ though.

Skin impressions show us that bigger dinosaurs probably had scales. But judging by birds, it's still possible for an animal to have both scales and feathers, so I wouldn't be too shocked if they find feathers on even more unexpected species.
