Ending the Royal vs. Rebel storyline, and rebranding it to the Power Princess line is what did it concerning the series. But the real killer is likely just poor toy sales.
There were signs that this franchise wasn't going to last as long as Monster High, and I'm just glad we got what we got. Both WtW and Dragon Games serve as pretty good finales as far as I'm concerned.

First off, it was WAY too obvious that we should side with the Rebels- the Royals were frequently awful and selfish, and the Rebels were going to suffer horrible fates. So the writers & people in charge had to constantly make excuses to make the Royals look better (to the point where almost all the Royals were secretly Rebels).

Moreover, the whole concept made very little sense, and didn't have much detail attached to it. So they're supposed to take their parents' places in the stories, right? So why are the Dark Fairy and Sleeping Beauty the SAME AGE if one's supposed to curse the other as a baby? Is Snow White actually the original Snow White, or have there been generations of them? WHY is everyone supposed to copy their parents? There's never an explanation as to why that has to be a thing (beyond the Evil Queen taking over various worlds, which isn't really the same thing)- "So their stories can continue to be told" is brought up maybe once and then never again.

Darling has been painted as a rebel, but this entire time has been a royal this entire time. Daring whom was painted as a royal turns out to be raised as a rebel.

The animation at the beginning is a little off, but it's pretty to look at and progressively gets better.

Webisodes and movies are pretty comfy, writing is nothing all that amazing but not insulting either (most of the time), I havent read the books but I hear they're darker and go into more detail over characters than the webisodes or movies ever do.

I'd say it's worth a watch.

I want to spit out once and for all what I disliked in the last two miniseries, so that I can move on wheter EAH continues or not.

I hate how Apple didn't receive any comeuppance for letting EQ out of the mirror. Would have been Raven (and she almost was, if Nevermore didn't intervene), Milton Grimm and a good 75% of the students would have thought at least a million way for punish her.

I hate Snow White and Evil Queen and how their bitching each another put in danger everyone, how Snow manipulated the subjects she should be responsible for, how EQ, back in the mirror, treated what happened like it was just thursday, how both of these mothers may have learned nothing about how their daughters feel because of them, because we don't see any talk between Apple and Snow, and EQ still lives in her own world.

I hate how no one, aside from Raven, thought letting free EQ could have been a bad idea. They know what that woman did, they even projected their fears on the innocent daughter of that woman because of her reputation, but nope, if Snow said it, let the crimnal free, even "Follow-the-rules-or-you-will-vanish" Milton threw his own principles in the toilet just because that bitch have spoken. Not only the nameless backgrounder, but even the "main" characters, even the ones who prior to DG actively helped Raven and Apple, suddenly became blind idiots who follow the whole Dragon games thing without asking questions. They even seem to find odd that Raven doesn't want anything to do with it! What the...?! We're not at the beginning of the story, at this point they should know Raven enough to listen her!

Speaking of EQ being a criminal, yes, she is a genuine outlaw. She's not imprisoned in that mirror because she was the villain of her fairytale. She went way beyond that, she deliberately invaded Wonderland and many other realms by her own will. She has to be stopped. But then, for Milton Grimm, (him again, why he's still the Headmaster, clearly his brother would be more suited) it was totally ok that Faybelle sided with who essentially is a fucking TERRORIST, as long as she acted "eeeevil" like it's expected from her. Clean the school? That fairy bitch should have been mirrored, she went way beyond her tale, exactly like EQ.
I may be impopular on this last one, because apparently everyone likes Faybelle, but i don't.
Everytime she renounces to being a bitch is because she can't take advantage from that anymore: in the "Through the Woods" arc she finally helped Cupid and Co. only when she finds out she actually would have been invited if only she acted more nice; In DG she left EQ's side only when she finds out the woman doesn't give a damn about her, not because maybe the whole thing went too far. In Epic Winter she only give the flowers back only when someone else offers to pay her debt. She doesn't have a "hidden heart of gold". She's purely a bad person (ironically, she should be proud of herself in that regard), someone who, in real life, would be abandoned by everyone who could have care for her, because of her ways.

And that was all. Phew!
