This one was one of his better reviews honestly. It still had bad skits but they weren't as godawful as usual and he's overall right about the actual review.

I get what your saying, I enjoy Harry Potter and the Cursed Child for the same reason.

However calling someone an autist for not liking a bad movie when you yourself know it's bad is dumb. Not to mention a HUGE reason it's so hated is because it's a cynical movie made by committee to get as much cash as possible after Jim Carrey's success in the Grinch. It's not "camp" not remotely. "Camp" isn't bad, "camp" is being hammy and overacting and trying to make due with lack of resources.

I hate this style of review where the reviewer just "watches" the motive and makes jokes about random clips instead of making an actual argument as to why a movie is shit/decent/good.

The only real substance in Nostalgia Critic videos is the intro and the closing statement.

Somehow, I admire his ability to make 3-hour videos each season about a show meant for 6-year-old boys. You asked me about my thoughts on a Power Rangers season, and it'd only last a few minutes.

I despise Doug's general indifference for a show that he clearly never liked as a kid but he's willing to give infinite props to Transformers or ignore its goofiness but rag the hell out of anything else that isn't on the level. He even *refused* to refer to TF by name and kept using He-Man and MLP as the toy-commercial examples despite his footage included G1 clips in an opinion video about cartoons then and now.


But the video he did that made me give up on his favorites-playing ass was the Nintendo comics one. It contained blatant lies. Lies of omission and lies of assumptions about the comics found in Nintendo power (and not to get all /a/ up in here but when he's dissing the Link to the Past comic, his camera scrolls over a gorgeous splash page drawn by Shotaro inof Japan. Way to fucking go, dumb ass.)

The guy didn't actually appear in the video, he was just a voice. I call him a furry because his account picture was an anthro looking snow leopard.
His big issue with the movie is that the world was not that original and he nitpicked a lot of small details like how domesticated sheep were animals in Zootopia's world when domesticated animals weren't supposed to be.
A good chunk of the video towards the end was dedicated to a strange rant on how he considers Bellwether to be the "true protagonist" in the film in that she's actually trying to change things, and then went into another rant on how most fiction is too moralistic. He said that media shouldn't have morals or believe in anything.
Maybe that wouldn't bother others, but to me he came off as one of those obnoxious guys that got one taste of a cynical philosopher and then thought they had it allll figured out.

Cat in the Hat is a bad film, but it has some funny moments in it. I think part of the appeal is how much weird adult humor is in it, and it's obvious no one really gave a fuck and ran with it. Then, the next time they show it, he's angrier

I've watched Legends of Chamberlain Heights through a criticism of Enter's review and all I got was an okayish cartoon that felt flat but wasn't horrendous. Like it wasn't unwatchable like some haremshit anime but about 70% of the show felt like pic related.

As for the content of the videos themselves, they often have series go on for a ridiculously long time without breaks, and the videos are 10 minutes long. So they're basically dragging things out for a long time without much new content. I think they recently made it to the first trial in Part 18 of their Pokemon Sun series.

That one review of Kubo where an autist complained that it was indoctrinating kids into Shintoism, and called Sausage Party a better alternative for its "flavorful atheist message". I think he said the claymation was too good so it looked like cgi, which he didn't like. The movie wasn't great, but everything the reviewer had a problem with was outlandishly unreasonable.

Animat's Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs review is pretty bad.

Looking at the quoted voters, the whole thing was a botched mess anyway. Lego The Movie got screwed out of the list despite it being the number one movie people saw the most and wanted to vote for. Instead, they were given two mainstream films, Box Trolls which nobody really liked anyway, and movies that hardly anyone saw let alone know about. They just went with what was the most familiar to them.
