The point was that Star saw he had some good in him after he tried to resist using the corrupted/Eclipsa/whatever wand for evil. So by the end their positions had sort of switched, with Marco feeling the whole thing was pointless and Star realizing her views may have been wrong, continued further in Mewnipendence Day on Star's end.

I think a lot of people came away with "monsters ARE all evil" from the episode because of how jokey it is about what a failure Lobster Claws is, but I think it worked for what it was.

Honestly, with the way this show is, one wouldn't be enough.

I really enjoyed School Spirit for some of the insane magical girl antics and proof this isn't a tumblr show (since they actually made a lighthearted rape joke)

Monster Arm is a good one as well.

The first episode I ever saw was strangely, Banagic Wand. I loved it. But I guess it wasn't everyone's favorite episode.

Most episodes of this series are like 11 minutes anyway so you might find yourself watching more than usual. You might get a kind of "just one more" vibe from it, or at least that's how I felt.

There are a few lower quality episodes but I like the characters enough where even the most mundane shit could happen and I'd be content to watch them interact.

The first episode is the introductory episode, but it's actually one of the worst. As long as you can understand the general gist (Star's a magical princess from another dimension, Marco's her friend/guide on Earth) then there are a few episodes you can hop right into (people suggested Blood Moon Ball, School Spirit, and Interdimensional Field Trip, which I'd agree with), but this is one of those shows that has a continuity so I wouldn't recommend watching too much out of order.
