I think Ward is an amazing colorist, and has good artistic concepts.

The artist has a lot of potential but he's still improving. I think he's got a good grasp of character design, environment design, perspective and coloring but his anatomy and lineart are comparatively weak. I wouldn't at all say he's a bad artist though, just noticeably more skilled in certain areas instead of being uniformly skilled in all discrete aspects of artwork. Its likewise possible that the amount of detail and coloring combined with the pacing of his output means he isn't working to the best of his ability in order to stay on schedule and maintain the look that people expect. If he keeps up this pace and puts effort into bettering his weak points he's gonna be an amazing artist.

I think he will be better in Black Bolt. A lot of his stuff in Ody_C looks a bit rough but it was likely not reigned in by editorial. I think his work in Ultimates generally looks better but was probably rushed due to him being a fill in artist and not getting the full time. He can draw excellent faces and such when he takes the time to do it. Like compare this pages to the ones with Carol and BP.
