This is an important day in politics, and while /co/ is not a political board, it is a cartoon board. So without overtly opinionated comments, can we share some of our favorite political cartoons?
>>89279254
>So without overtly opinionated comments
ha ha HA HA.
>>89279254
>>89279267
Wishful thinking I guess. I'll post a few old ones that I like, feel free to share modern or dated ones that you guys think are funny or on point.

What did she mean by this?
>>89279282
Is that a jojo reference? Feminist confirmed for bros
This one always makes me laugh purely because of how silly it is.
I love that Dr. Suess made political cartoons, I like this one because it is both cute in design and insightful.
>>89279293
This is pretty funny. Man, I wish political cartoons weren't so garbage these days.
Another Seuss WWII cartoon. I find it so interesting how people like Seuss and Disney can capture the public eye no matter the subject matter.
>>89279411

One more Seussian.
>>89279480
That's pretty good!
>>89279480
Great example of garbage, exactly what I mean.
This one is a bit more modern.

Noice. But it's paetly cause initially the americans were glad to hear hitler had taken so kindly to their view of race superiority and eugenics. It was in all the high political circles and being implemented though selective marriages and forced sterilization. Only went hitler went murder happy did they change their mind to thinking eugenics is literal cancer. They thought they hax an ally in hitler
>>89279844
Top kek. Well done
>>89280904
Holy fucking revisionist bullshit, god no you fucking moron.
America had a taste of the European conflicts in WW1 and quickly lost their taste for it, the great fucking deppression followed shortly afterwards and ended as shit was heating up again.
We didn't give a fuck about Hitler, people were just now starting to live normal fucking lives not crushed by poverty for the first time in a decade. This is why EVERY SINGLE COMIC is about us being assholes and ignoring how dangerous of a person Hitler was and how hard everyone was trying to demonize him. Our military and economy was getting stronger again and they wanted our help, sympathizers tried getting the American population to realize the threat the Nazis posed.
I am fucking astounded you managed to type that paragraph of literal shit covered aids and try to pass it off as historical fact. Americans liked Hitler? This is some WE WUZ KANGS tier shit.

This one is true
Consider the EpiPen controversy a few years back. EpiPens cost like 300 dollars a piece in the USA, while they're around 8€ in Europe. There are also EpiPen equivalents in Europe, but those didn't get (((FDA approval))) because of superficial reasons, i.e. the FDA didn't like the name of the equivalent product - I wish I was kidding but I'm not. There's definitely a hell of lot of collusion going on between the US pharmaceutical industry and the FDA.

Textiles were the start of it but once a law is passed, no matter how useless it may be cultural inertia tends to keep it in place. Overtime it became clear that Marijauna is A: a cheap source of strong fibers useful in textiles (to the point where Hempl cloth was vital to any one making rope or cloth) B: useful for treating a frankly staggering number of medical issues and C: a serious thorn in the side of synthetic cloth industries, cotton industries, and pharmacuetical concerns.

Gender is a term crafted by the PEDOPHILLIC Dr. Money and used to somehow state that your brain's image of you is different than your body in the manner of Sex. Usually, when this happens in other manners like Anorexia, we treat the person.
Instead they use the term Transgender as if it is """normal""" to be a reality-denying abomination. It hurts even more when KIDS are subjected to this from their parents only to realize, after treatment, they were not trannies. Now, with reality setting in, they kill themselves in droves.
Gender Is a construct made by a pedophile and disgustingly rich loons looking for some virtue. Sex is truth.

They became "white" or rather it became politically convenient for white protestants and irish immigrants to unite and start oppressing african americans
1 of 3
Ironically, Irish Catholics came to this country as an oppressed race yet quickly learned that to succeed they had to in turn oppress their closest social class competitors, free Northern blacks. Back home these "native Irish or papists" suffered something very similar to American slavery under English Penal Laws. Yet, despite their revolutionary roots as an oppressed group fighting for freedom and rights, and despite consistent pleas from the great Catholic emancipator, Daniel O'Connell, to support the abolitionists, the newly arrived Irish-Americans judged that the best way of gaining acceptance as good citizens and to counter the Nativist movement was to cooperate in the continued oppression of African Americans. Ironically, at the same time they were collaborating with the dominant culture to block abolition, they were garnering support from among Southern, slaveholding democrats for Repeal of the oppressive English Act of the Union back home. Some even convinced themselves that abolition was an English plot to weaken this country.
>>89304089
>>89304139
part 2 of ?
Upon hearing of this position on the part of so many of his fellow countrymen now residing in the United States, in 1843 O'Connell wrote: "Over the broad Atlantic I pour forth my voice, saying, come out of such a land, you Irishmen; or, if you remain, and dare countenance the system of slavery that is supported there, we will recognize you as Irishmen no longer." It's a tragic story. In a letter published in the Liberator in 1854, it was stated that "passage to the United States seems to produce the same effect upon the exile of Erin as the eating of the forbidden fruit did upon Adam and Eve. In the morning, they were pure, loving, and innocent; in the evening, guilty."
Irish and Africans Americans had lots in common and lots of contact during this period; they lived side by side and shared work spaces. In the early years of immigration the poor Irish and blacks were thrown together, very much part of the same class competing for the same jobs. In the census of 1850, the term mulatto appears for the first time due primarily to inter-marriage between Irish and African Americans. The Irish were often referred to as "Negroes turned inside out and Negroes as smoked Irish." A famous quip of the time attributed to a black man went something like this: "My master is a great tyrant, he treats me like a common Irishman." Free blacks and Irish were viewed by the Nativists as related, somehow similar, performing the same tasks in society. It was felt that if amalgamation between the races was to happen, it would happen between Irish and blacks. But, ultimately, the Irish made the decision to embrace whiteness, thus becoming part of the system which dominated and oppressed blacks. Although it contradicted their experience back home, it meant freedom here since blackness meant slavery.
>>89304139
>completely ignoring irish collective bargaining forcing northern metropolitan communities to deal with them
>dey just done gone becummed oppressioners too!!!
>>89304089
>>89304139
>>89304158
Part 3 of 4
Once the Irish secured themselves in those jobs, they made sure blacks were kept out. They realized that as long as they continued to work alongside blacks, they would be considered no different. Later, as Irish became prominent in the labor movement, African Americans were excluded from participation. In fact, one of the primary themes of How the Irish Became White is the way in which left labor historians, such as the highly acclaimed Herbert Gutman, have not paid sufficient attention to the problem of race in the development of the labor movement.
And so, we have the tragic story of how one oppressed "race," Irish Catholics, learned how to collaborate in the oppression of another "race," Africans in America, in order to secure their place in the white republic. Becoming white meant losing their greenness, i.e., their Irish cultural heritage and the legacy of oppression and discrimination back home. Imagine if the Irish had remained green after their arrival and formed an alliance with their fellow oppressed co-workers, the free blacks of the North. Imagine if they had chosen to include their black brothers and sisters in the union movement to wage a class battle against the dominant white culture which ruthlessly pitted them against one another.
>>89295363
No, Blacks are heavily conservative due to them being just as big of bible thumpers as rednecks. They'd be hard line republicans if republicans hadn't pulled all the segregationist/anti civil rights shit.

part 4 of 4
Oh that there had been other Irish Americans such as the soldiers from St. Patrick's Battalion who fought on the side of Mexico in the War of 1848, who did remain green and fought against oppression. So perhaps we Irish in America must reclaim our greenness and, perhaps, our anti-racism trainers are right that we all must reclaim our cultural heritage and bring it to the multicultural table. The only stipulation is that we do it in a decidedly anti-racist manner and in solidarity with oppressed classes of people. Maybe we can all share in the sentiment proclaimed in the 1991 movie about Dublin, "The Commitments," when it was stated that "The Irish are the blacks of Europe, so say it loud, I'm black and I'm proud."

That's a pretty awesome painting, to be honest. The nazis were funny like that- at one point they did a gallery of paintings that the reich deemed degenerate, as a way of turning the public against it. But the gallery got far more attention then the actual exhibition they were trying to push nearby.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Degenerate_Art_Exhibition
>The concurrent Große Deutsche Kunstausstellung ("Great German Art Exhibition") was intended to show the more classical and "racially pure" type of art advocated by the Nazi regime.[3] That exhibition was hosted near Hofgarten, in the Haus der Deutschen Kunst.[3] It was described as mediocre by modern sources, and attracted only about half the numbers of the Degenerate Art one.[3]

In 21 incidents (13.1%), the situation ended after unarmed citizens safely and successfully
restrained the shooter. In 2 of those incidents,24 3 off-duty law enforcement
officers were present and assisted.
■ Of note, 11 of the incidents involved unarmed principals, teachers, other school
staff and students who confronted shooters to end the threat (9 of those shooters
were students).
■ In 5 incidents (3.1%), the shooting ended after armed individuals who were not law
enforcement personnel exchanged gunfire with the shooters. In these incidents, 3 shooters
were killed, 1 was wounded, and 1 committed suicide.
■ The individuals involved in these shootings included a citizen with a valid firearms
permit and armed security guards at a church, an airline counter, a federally
managed museum, and a school board meeting.25

So you're suggesting that the woman just allow herself to be beaten and possibly raped rather than be allowed a chance to escape with her life and dignity intact?

Good guy v Bad Guy argument is simplistic.
Not without its merits since there's hundreds of thousands of defensive uses of guns and a gun is the most successful option of self defense.
Adversely gun ownership obviously increases your likelihood of being shot and abused women in households with guns are more likely to be murdered by said guns.
Also actual active shooter training for civilian gun owners says "don't go hunting" it's supposed to be a last resort.
>>89312009
I'm saying that if you think that someone should not be allowed access to something that might mean the difference between their life and death you must be a terrible human being.

You're imagining a perfect world where only good guys have guns. If a wife lives in a house and owns a gun, then there is a gun in the house. To think that only she would have access to it is naive, that is unless you picture a scenario where she buys the gun and then comes home blazing.

My claim is that if a woman is being attacked she stands a better chance armed than unarmed.
>>89312251
