I know this will devolve into one of those threads, but it really does disappoint me how violently political this past year has made celebs. It's as if they're gnashing their teeth like a rabid dog because they lost.
>>

well they are

the wrong side of history fucked things up for their betters

but back on topic the song's pretty not great
>>
Its a good track and music video. Just not the big introduction the new album should get. They probably have something planned with proper animation, and thats the song thats going to get on radios.

Why are people suddenly not allowed to criticize your president, Amerifats?
>>
>>89266246
>It's as if they're gnashing their teeth like a rabid dog because they lost.
That's because that's exactly what's happening. The pendulum keeps swinging back and forth between funny and sad, honestly.

And remember, it's not just because they lost, it's because they lost and there's literally nothing they can do about it. For all their fame, for all their money and for all their pomp and circumstance they still can't change the fact that Trump is president. They want to believe that if they shriek at Trump long enough eventually reality will bend to their whims and he'll be replaced with Hillary.
>>
sounds like shit, luckily it will be forgotten in a week and wont make it to airwaves

Usually presidents have done something as president to warrant such blatant contempt and hatred.
>>
>>89266419

Because he's not even president yet.

Bush had to actually do shit before people made fun of him. You can tell Hollywood and friends are firing their entire arsenal at Trump before he's done anything and all it did was make him look legit.

I agree, they probably just did this because his inauguration is tomorrow.

This song/video is kind of myopic and pretentious though, i think being anti-capitalist is a cheap solution when the problem is just that the people who have money are assholes. The system works for a pretty good ratio of people in society as far as these things go, historically speaking.

Besides that i blame Democrats 100% for Trump's presidency considering they had the fucking audacity to screw Bernie out of the candicacy for the sake of Clinton of all fucking people. Plus non-americans talking shit about the American people and their decisions really pisses me off.

Also, those urban 'leeches' produce more than 70% of our nation's GDP, not the rural population, who are the ones getting agriculture subsidies by the shit-ton.

So no, it's the rural Americans who are the leeches, not the ones actually producing value for the economy, dumbass.

the electoral college was set up for a reason
without it then new york and california would dominate the country and those 2 states would decide for everyone else. the electoral college takes power away from the large states and redistributes it to the smaller states.

the reason clinton lost is because the rust belt voted for trump. clinton did not campaign in the rust belt because she didn't care about them and just assumed they would vote for her. the election results showed that the electoral college gave the post industrial rust belt a voice.

You're right, the electoral college exists so that the people don't actually have the power that they are so rightly owed.
The actual voting power belongs to a series of elites who are subsequently persuaded to be biased as to who they vote for.

Just because half of the country doesn't care, doesn't mean you should take power away from those that do.

I won't stop. Libya was the most prosperous nation in Africa. They had around 143 tons of Gold (and allegedly similar quantities of Silver) which were robbed from them thanks to the machinations of Western Imperialists in the purest sense of the term. They provided healthcare and education to the poor, subsidizing infrastructure and social programs with their oil revenue. It was a stable functioning country that helped keep a cork on the flow of Economic Migrants north.

And all of this had to be destroyed, for what? Because the French Government wanted to preserve its economic primacy in its former colonies which Libya was going to supplant with its own gold backed currency and non-predatory loans, and Western states still were pissed about the shit Qaddafi pulled in the 80's.

Why would they hire guys like Snoop Dogg, some of the biggest examples of commercialization in music?

They aren't "anti-commercialization," they literally are commercialization. Half of these bumblefucks are already in bands associated with American record labels, not counting Gorillaz.

The system is so fucking retarded, so undemocratic, it's ridiculous. It is so open for abuse by the rich and powerful, and takes power away from the people that are supposed to rule in a democracy, i.e. the people.

Abolishing it is simple. Just replace it with a system where whoever receives the most votes, wins. Does that not make sense for Ameritards, to actually have a more direct democratic process, rather than a republican system?

If the native population in the US actually wanted the war, it would have kept going on. If that were the case Vietnam would have been defeated simply because of how the US military was doing in comparison to the Vietnamese military.

Nah pure democracy is fucking retarded.
Why should an entire country be ruled by what 3 cities decided? Just because you have the densest population area doesn't mean you get problems affecting people spread across the country. Electoral system is flawed but popular vote is no replacement for it.
Besides in this case only 48% of the voters wanted Hillary. And only 55% of the population showed up. So the whole "it's the peoples decision" bit doesn't really work when barely even a quarter of the population decided it.

Same is true for Afghanistan though.
Which is why Vietnam is red in the communist sense, why North Korea is a "north" also a military dictatorship, and ISIS is running rampant over the middle east.

The US can't fight non-defensive wars. We have never successfully done so. We don't have enough unity for it. We only unify when threatened.
So unless Russia threatens us (or our allies with obvious intent to hit us next) directly, we will not win that war, just pull out after a few years of loss to guerrilla, if we even engage at all.

LOL Oh that's cute, you think your masters care about you more than the big bad Republicans. You don't even notice that most of the big money donors are the same.

Yeah, the Gorillaz was always political! Not biased one bit!

If you think literally one city being enough to hold an entire political party in place as ruler half the time isn't silly, I don't know what /should/ count.
>>
>>89270937
whoah, fuck Gorillaz, man. worst band ever.

During phase 3 they ran out of funds and then the creators had a falling out, so some of the intended content was never produced, and The Fall was just kind of a side thing.

This is why they need sponsorship deals. Albums don't sell like they used to, and labels aren't fronting the money for advertising as much as they used to. During Plastic Beach EMI went bankrupt, for goodness sake... they worked EMI's drama and their own funding concerns into the story line a bit.

I don't even care that it's /pol/, that was some good old-fashioned "truly epic lulz" there. So glad we're still capable of that on occasion.
Hopefully next time it won't be our resident neonazi's though. I'd hate to think just how much this stunt has recruited ever more cancerous newfags for them.

but anon, everybody outside of the cities is stupid and they don't know better.

i dont mind that trump won, im just worried about the fallout and his actual results
>flip-flopping
>not many clear policies
>what happens when prices go up cause of tariffs/cut taxes/forcing companies to stay in america
>how will trump deal with foregin policy
>drain the swamp except appoint ppl with ties to corporations
desu i feel trump is only in it for himself/his company. if he actually helps out the country, good on him. mainly worried about 80s esque tax cuts
>tfw /pol/ and trump made a cyberpunk corporate america even more real and sooner

Yeah they lost so you want them to lay down?

Literally the only time they've ever been anything good is their first album.

Did like the little shoutout to emi in the book of murdoc
>>
>>89270937
Plastic Beach was an album entirely from Murdoc's point of view, too, though. It's less preachy, more subtle and hopeful, but it's about consumerism, corporatism, and conflict. Honestly, read the lyrics.

Here's part of White Flag
"[B:] Cool! White Flag! White Flag!
[K:] No War!
[B:] No Guns!
[K:] No Corps!
[B:] Just life.
[K:] Just Love
[B:] No Hype.
[K:] Just fun.
[B:] No ties.
[K:] Just me and my mind.
[B:] Just me and my wife.
[K:] But tell me if I'm dreamin'
'cause I don't wanna wake up till the evenin'
[B:] and I don't wanna be left sleepin'
from all the diseases
that I breathe in.
[K:] Look, respect the island, no stealin'!
[B:] and don't bring religion here, no three kings.
[K:] Integrate and then we ain't leavin'!
We come on in peace. Sing!
[B:] White flag?
[K:] White flag!"

Shit, I want to live in Murdoc's world. lol Shame about those pirates. It's a bit of an escapist album but also a bit about struggle and adapting in a world that seems like it's overloaded and on the brink.

>no guns!
No thanks.

This.

What kills me as someone who didn't support Trump is seeing people with good intentions shoot themselves in the foot by protesting him instead of influencing him, because the zeitgeist of the present is a dichotomy of identity politics. They're more concerned about being right than being effective, even if being right would mean all their nightmares coming true.

>>89271351
More than that... they capture and imprisoned him. lol
>>
>>89271581
Oh chill the fuck out. It would be great if guns weren't needed, but it clearly didn't work out in the storyline.
>>
>>89271692
Guns are fun.
>>
>>89271721
Until people kill each other with them. I'm for gun rights, let me be clear, but the gun worship in this country is crazy.
>>
>>89271692
>It would be great if guns weren't needed

commie detected
>>
>>89271827
Wow, that's quite the straw man there. I'm not sure what to even say to someone this simple.
>>
>>89271826
I don't see too much gun worship anon.
>>
>>89271873

You can say "no please dont shoot me" but it'll be too late because you'll be shot, thank you guns
>>
>>89271943
Work on your reading comprehension. I said is would be great IF guns WEREN'T needed. I didn't say guns aren't needed, but you people are as knee jerk as any liberal.
>>
>>89271902
Then you're blind.

There are people for whom guns are the single most important issue. People in America fucking love their guns.

Americans fetishize guns.

>There are people for whom guns are the single most important issue. People in America fucking love their guns.
This is neither worship nor a problem.

I just gotta say as a non american
>everyone shitting on trump for being basically a shady businessman, not that different from most career politicians except he has his hands in the cookie jar openly

>one of the other american presidents was a fucking tv star cowboy with a pet monkey who wanted to make world destroying anti nuke space lasers because he just really liked star wars, and that's a fucking real fucking historical fact nobody can ever change, that at one point the American leader was a space cowboy with a pet chimp

You americans need to stop pretending you aren't aren't bunch of fucking weirdos
