Laura's always been kind of a parrot that repeats things other people say, see pic related.

In the teenage x-men run she's part of now, she's implied to be mimicking the mannerisms of people around her as well as doing what she THINKS Logan would do in certain situations. She's dropped the phrase 'fake it till you make it' in an argument with Warren, although I'm not sure about how meta this is on the part of the writers, it seems to me like they fucked up her voice when she first came into the All New X-Men run, people complained that Laura suddenly stopped acting like, well, Laura, and the writers were like 'oh shit we need to walk this back somehow and have some semblence of character continuity?' So they back-built in this explanation.

I dunno, alot of people give Bendis and Hopeless shit for it, but at least they're trying, right?

But if you wanna take it at face value, in-universe, she's still pretty autistic. It's not so much that she's actually become a normie, it's that she's gotten better at acting like one. Also Gabby is probably rubbing off on her.

Hopeless just scavenged forums again for his ideas, I think.
Avengers Arena showed us that he frequently adopted lingo that was used on /co/ within his book.
This Laura story of "she's completely out of character for a few years now because she was just pretending" has bounced around at least on /co/ a while before that run happened.

Now I'm not saying Hopeless reads /co/, but I am pretty convinced he's reading places like /co/ or he at least reads "fan"mail very carefully.

Either way, he understood that that masquerade angle would make for an interesting character detail and used it, but what he of course failed to notice when he started writing was that he also had no clue how to write her actual voice.
I'm not gonna repost that fucking page, but the fact that Laura lost her composure and still talked like an internet meme machine completely ruined the entire point of the excercise.
I wish Hopeless would stop writing comics.

Laura is a real good example of bad writers disregarding supporting casts and characterization.

She used to see existence in terms of missions and objectives and she shifts into a one track mind - complete the mission. Laura's calculative and tactical even in combat. See this is what I would like to see in her solo book. Laura is acting like a normal human being one minute then she slowly sniffs the ear and smells assassins.

Immediately, we dive into her mind a see her think in this very clipped and obvious monotonous tone. Then, before the guys can do anything she just strikes and not like she's berserk. Rather in the manner of the assassin. Quickly and efficiently. She either kills and injures them before they can react allowing you to see how dangerous she really is.

See this is what I'd like. A book where Emma tried to reconnect with the kids that she left behind. Because, let's face it. Although she and Cyclops may have done what they did with the best intentions in mind, they ruined these kids' lives. I would just love to see Emma try to fix that. To try and make these kids lives better somehow. Then failing miserably because she is Emma and these kids are still understandably pissed at her for 'abandoning' them.

I would just to see this group deal with their issues and reconnect. To seem them overcome the issues and what not the plagued them from M-Day onwards. I would also like Laura to be called out for the fact that she just left them when they needed help without ever returning. Because those kids were interesting and honestly fun to read. Mainly because they felt 'real' in a way that the X-Generations succeeding them haven't. They felt like that they had issues and problems that were understandable and I loved that.

Initially in the Dark X-Men storyline, they loathed each other. However, over the course of a few years the two have realized that the share a few things in common. It seems that at worse he'll go after Laura if she is in his way. Apart from that, they seem relatively okay. In Wolverines I just vomited in my mouth mentioning that trash, Laura seems to be trying to connect with Daken... but Daken being Daken...

I've never seen X as a hero. By her design alone she can't be. Her character arch should've been coming to grips with that and finding ways to only kill when need be. Making her into another superhero kind of messed up her vibe for me. Also I figured she would be field leader. So if she says no killing then no killing. Jubes would be there as the muscle and techie. Also I thought her mist form would be perfect for infiltration. X Force doesn't have to be about killing just blurring that line between good and bad.

Considering the fact that her x-gene triggered at a very young age (as opposed to being in the teens like it "usually" does) and she seemed to age along with her mother just fine, she probably ages normally.
