Thoughts on Cybersix?
I need to find some time to watch it.
Cybersex
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z22seoMxgpI
Pretty neato straightforward superhero show.
It does an awful job explaining what the green goo is for which makes a later episode somewhat confusing.
why does it look like an anime
>>89212774
I always assumed she needed it to sustain herself, it's probably answered in the comics.
I remember my mom refused to believe Adrian was Cybersix.
>>89210678
Overrated
Don't really know
Watched two episodes and planned to watch more but never did
Animation was cool and all, but the dialogue was awful
>>89210678
Beautiful show with a great premise and a cool MC, however, it gets hamstrung by a pretty formulaic episode structure that doesn't do much with the underlying plot until the very end.
Despite its dark, mature aesthetic, it succumbs to Saturday morning cartoon syndrome in a very noticeable way.
I'm not saying it should've been HBO Spawn or anything, but some focus on the overarching plot instead of villains/monsters of the week would've been better.
>>89212395
Did she?
Everything ended on a cliffhanger.
>>89212801
In the comics, yes, she needs it like a vampire needs blood (she even obtains it from other cybrogs by biting them!). In the TV show, though, she's only shown eating it twice and the first time she was injured, leading me to believe she only needed it to heal herself.
>>89212794
It's a Japanese/Canadian/German production.
>>89213099
Created by a argentinian
I love how it doesn't keep the cape consistent. They will draw the thing as absolutely gigantic if it'll look cool.
>>89213099
and based on an Argentine comic
>>89212744
>no long version of the theme song
;_;
W..what are you doing boner?
>>89213241
One of the more believable reverse traps.
>that chapter in the comic where she tells a lie in her male guise to the fat guy about Cybersix banging "him" to shore up the deception
>>89213142
I always love whenever anything sacrifices visual consistency or realism for the sake of shot for shot aesthetics and physically impossible composition.
Like in the new Moon Knight where his cape is like 30 feet long composed of the page's negative space.
Cyberbest
>>89212794
its french
The biggest problem was it was only 13 episodes, and it definitely had a like 3 or 4 weak episodes which is really bad when you have a limited series like this since they compromise so much more of the overall series.did you like or hate the bird episode /co/?
A kids show based off the mature comic, but it's good? The hell is this sorcery?
>>89212744
>she gets tangled in her cape and falls to her death at the end
>>89213548
I liked the episode, I think the only bad episodes where the one with the racist japanese detective and the one with the mindcontroled cop.
My favorite episode was the one with the blue assassin. I laughed when she turned invisible on the car but put her seatbelt making her invisibility pointless.
>>89214905
>>89213548
I think the bird episode was actually really surprisingly scary. They managed to capture this super oppressive and dangerous atmosphere purely with how vicious and how omnipresent they made the birds, rather than making them into monsters.
I think not only was the bird monster at the end kind of stupidly designed (I would have preferred something like a giant raven rather than an anthropomorphic creature) but I honestly think it may not have needed a climactic singular monster at the end to begin with and the swarms could have carried it.
Cybersix was my first boner, I´m talking about the dress up scene where she takes off her school teacher clothes and puts that skin tight outfit. The moon lighting makes it feel like Im watching a french film.
Loved it. Especially the opening and ending songs.
Underrated series.
Amazing song that needs to have the full version released, as there is literally no reason for them not to.
Deserves another season.
I bet most of you didn't know that this exists:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbArxQDGNUA
>>89212835
>barely known beyond those who were lucky to catch it on Fox ages ago
>Didn't get a proper DVD release until about 2 years ago
>Canned after ONE season
>Overrated
You do not know what that word means.
>>89215389
This is what happens when you try to make Tim Burton´s Batman with a shoestring budget.
>>89212801
Funny enough my aunt on my dads side actually looks like Adrien. My dad actually used to watch Cybersix with me back in the mid 2000s.
>>89213432
The show also had genuine intimate moments at times.
>>89210678
>Tr to watch show
>Good animation with shallow plots
>Try to read the comics
>Not really all that engaging
A solid meh
>>89213082
I took it that she did need it every so often, but they just didn't bother showing her collecting vials every time since it would have just become unnecessary stuff to animate in every single battle.
Storytime all the translated ones I have
>>89215134
Think the comics where even more queer.
>>89216066
Thanks anon, I didn´t know there where translated.
>>89215134
Show gave me my reverse-trap fetish.
>>89212744
>they won't fucking release the full version of the song even though it's been confirmed to exist
That woman can't be that much of a well-known person to be withholding such a marvelous gem of musical delight!
>>89213241
It took me a few episodes to realize that they were the same person and it blew my young mind.
>>89216486
Did you miss the first episode? Because it's pretty hard to miss that entire reveal.
>>89215134
>the dress up scene where she takes off her school teacher clothes and puts that skin tight outfit
That bit was hot without even showing anything.
>>89210678
I think for a cartoon from Argentina it's damn near impossible to find in spanish.
Loved this cartoon as a kid
I'm a little surprised it didn't give me a latex or reverse trap fetish
some hero overlayed the English audio over the french DVD rips since this show was never released on dvd in english so this is the highest quality verson you can get in english.
https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/8637542/Cybersix_complete_en-fr_dual_audio_[576p25_DVDrip_mkv]
>>89216652
Yeah, it was sexy yet classy.
>>89210678
Best pairing. Wish I could access the comics. How did those end?
>>89210678
i'd LOVE to see her get slimed
>>89212395
Pretty much
>Short-haired brunette
>Ample, athletic figure
>Runs around at night in skin-tight black leather with a sleek black panther
pure sex.
I hate to be a contrarian but theme songs that good don't belong on shows that mediocre. The visuals are great, but the writing is trash. Oh my God. C6 is the Miraculous Ladybug of the 90s, except ML doesn't have a good theme song.
Deep in my Feels
>>89216827
They released a DVD set here like two years ago anon.
>>89217237
Thanks Anon, i had no idea.
>>89217364
heh
Lazy put together "clip show" with excellent animation.
But what else do you expect from Canada, at least unlike Peter Pan And The Pirates I can can get through more then 1 episode and enjoy it at the same time as well.
Also not enough zany moments like this, seems that Michihata (and or Masuda) was the only one(s) who tried on that show.
>>89217476
>"clip show"
In what fucking way?
>>89217547
>Remember Clay Face
>Remember Bruce Timm
Thats what this feels like.
>>89217640
how the fuck does that translate to clip show?
>>89217640
You're not making any sense.
What does a Batman character and a guy who worked on the most successful Batman cartoon have to do with this and clip shows?
>>89210678
I'm amazed that this cartoon finally became popular outside of the same 8 people for 10 years.
Please no more reaction images, we'll just make it to image limit
>>89217766
How did she survive those days without drinking fuel?
>>89217729
One of the episodes has a clay monster that is like Clay Face.
It's been awhile since I watched it but It just felt lazy to me, time better spent on Wakko's Wish (which they did do retakes in 2014 for it's DVD release but still).
>>89217883
She had a cache
Have a Sixcyber
>>89217883
never mind, my question was answer a few pages later.
>>89217904
Is she a trap?
We will finish with 3 image spaces to spar so no more images.
>>89217900
So? Clayface isn't the only monster in existence to be claylike you know.
Sounds like you barely watched it at all if you're calling it something that relates to reusing clips of previous episodes to either go over a large number of exposition or pad out an episode order instead of making something new.
>>89218014
No, I'm referring to reused ideas.
Aside from the animation, it was pretty bad. The writing was generally crap and the cartoon-y sound effects got on my nerves.
I've never watched it or read it but I should check it out after reading the synopsis.
>>89216940
>that ancient Teletoon logo
>>89218086
>tfw remembering watching Cybersix on Detour when the Detour block used that god tier cityscape theme with the guy on the motorbike
>tfw don't even have Detour anymore
>Toonami returns but YTV doesn't have Bionix anymore
>>89216549
To be fair, he probably did. At least, when I first became aware of the show, they were showing syndicated episodes out of order.
>>89218053
How was the monster reused from Clayface? Beyond it being Claylike and developing a mind of its own, it's barely anything like him.
And what other reused ideas?
>>89218144
YTV is has been dead since 2009 and I don't think it will ever recover.
>tfw Detour is gone
>tfw Teletoon Retro is gone
>tfw Bionix was so good and surprising because we never thought they'd air even more anime because it's fucking Canada
I only leave cable on in the background (for years) now, but I'm sad that Teletoon Retro and MuchMore are gone since they were the only channels I payed attention too.
>>89217476
Is that Lori? Man she sure got an upgrade on the animation.
>>89218411
>no more Vortex
>The Zone basically became nonexistent
>all the blocks and hosts ceased existing and they just kept introducing failed one after failed one
>not even pretending to be pseudo-nickelodeon anymore with the gross out blocs
>Teletoon has the worst night bloc ever even though the Detour was god tier
>tfw you'll never return to 2006/7 again
>>89218411
>>89218487
Is Carlos still the Host of the Zone?
I tuned in at around 2013-2014 and Carlos was still there, albeit with all enthusiasm and passion gone.
now post page where pedro rapes the student chick whore who keeps trying to bang adrien
but she loves it caus hes a good lay
>>89219864
I know this isn't the first panel with this but
>Bare breasts under dress shirt
>Implying she successfully passes as a man while going braless
>Without wrapping her breasts in any way.
Sure.
But yes, I know this is where cheesecake trumps logic, and she might not be worldly enough to have a nice bra.
>>89219983
If she were flatter like in the cartoon it would be believable but she's sporting C-cups there.
>>89220052
>flatter like in the cartoon
Anon, she was reasonably busty in the cartoon too, but the cartoon obviously didn't show this and you could easily imagine that she wraps or whatever.
I hope storytime anon hasn'r died.
>>89220079
That's what I always figured, that that she binds up like many assumed Zelda did in her Sheik disguise.
>>89213241
I always wondered why traps/reverse traps weren't more common for superheroes. Makes the most sense in throwing off villains
short break while stuff needs doing
>>89220757
>The comic stops giving her lips extra definition when she's posing as Adrien
That was very weird at first.
Glad they cleaned up that detail.
>>89216066
I love you anon
I could never find these translated ever
>>89220889
I post in the vain hope someone will have the rest of the series translated, or even in Italian.
>>89210678
A big inspiration for parts of a comic I'm trying to work on. Needless to say, it had a big impact on me, and I've loved it ever since it first aired. I even bought the DVD release despite how easy to pirate it would be.
Need to walk the dog, back in 30 minutes.
I'm back
I have no idea about the number of the files
>>89210678
>Aesthetics and animation is top-tier
>Plot is pretty meh outside of the first episode and the last few episodes
>Dialogue is pretty shit and downright cringey at times, suffering severely from Saturday morning cartoon pep talks and quibs, completely going against the dark atmosphere
It was a solid alright
>>89222208
This guy
I tried to watch this show a year or two ago after hearing about it. Other than the animation, which is great! I just couldn't get into it. I only made it in about 3 episodes.
Not that I dislike the whole male-teacher-disguise as a concept, but it left me asking "Why?" a lot. Like ... what does she have to gain by being a teacher? She's trying to fight against this shadowy organization right? So she takes a day job? One that hinges on a flimsy deception for no reason? Her disguise isn't even that good! All she does is put on glasses and comb her hair differently!
I dunno. I just couldn't get into it. I probably would have loved it if I'd seen it as a kid, though.
>>89222608
Read the comic, helpfully provided
>>89222608
I didn't even read the comic (helpfully provided) but I think she just actually wants to be a teacher. She masquerades as a man to hide from the evil science but otherwise I think it's just her living a life.
>>89222842
I have work goodbye for now.
>>89222929
Thank you for your time!
>>89217900
>shape shifting slime monster
>"ONLY BATMAN IS ALLOWED TO DO THIS!"
Yeah forget Hedorah, The Blob, DnD slimes, Muckman, Tetsuo, etc shape shifting goo has never been in anything besides batman
>>89222929
Cybersix storytime? You're doing god's work, anon. Thanks a lot.
>>89222208
Do these two ever properly hook up in the comic.
>>89216316
>bunch of thugs mug a guy because he rejected their friend
How sweet
>>89225314
I think they have a baby in the end.
I'm back
>>89222608
Iirc, the comic explains that she escapes the facility as a kid, stumbles upon a car wreck where the whole family died, and takes the identity of the dead boy cause they looked similar. Cops find the wreck later and assumed only the boy survived.
>>89210678
It's all right, but I think a bit overrated here.
Personally, I would've preferred if it had more serious tone and if it dug a bit deeper into the source material.
>>89217697
You're speaking to Famicom, don't try applying rational though to a deluded pedophile who knows less than nothing about animation.
Being the final chapter of volume 1
>>89228280

One of the guys working on it even came to /co/ asking about what kind of special features should be included on it.
>>89210678
>>89212794
Well this is what happens when you take an Argentine comic and publish it in an Italian magazine that becomes very popular in France to the point a Canadian team wants to animate it so they hire a Japanese studio to do the art work while wooing some rich Germans to help back the remaining gap in funding before re-dubbing it in Polish and Taiwanese.
This is why I get mad at people when they say good shows can't be done because things get complicated or caught in development hell or some other excuse. This show proves that it can be done and people just need to stop making excuses for not making good shows.
>>89226613
Am I the only one who feels bad for Lori? Like yeah she's bitchy and selfish and a god damn cockblock but she's also this teenage girl in love with someone who couldn't love her back

The fact that he's still plugging along is enough for some kind of award. He can get another job somewhere, I mean fucking Phil is still doing some kind DJ shit.
