The "Disney Princess" character has gotten boringly repetitive since then, the rebellious spunky girl who sings a song about how she doesn't want the life that's been picked out for her. But it was all almost new with Ariel. She really was more spunky and fun and rebellious than other Disney heroines before her, and all the Disney heroines after her have been partly imitations of Ariel.
