It's a very ironic thing. It and Adventure Time had a 7 PM Saturday time slot called Adventure Show/Regular Time and it preformed poorly, both shows apparently dropped ratings more than usual and so they switched them back to Thursdays (but after that the rest of Season 7's episodes never got promoted on the network) so knowing Saturday fucked over both shows, they decided to do it again but at an even earlier time. They didn't promote these at all though, they did the Adventure Show bundle.

The few people who are online telling their opinion from the screening in LA all say it was really good, but also incredibly sad to where JG cried. Ratings for Saturday premieres usually get released on Monday or Tuesday at the latest. I imagine they will be lower than 1 million, given the time it aired. Monday's finale should be higher though.

I beg the finale isn't just straightforward about this one story and forgetting everything else.

I've been following RS since the beginning. It's always depressing to see a show you've followed for so long come to an end, but it's satisfying to know that you stuck with it the whole way through (no matter how much the show changes over the seasons).

At least I still have AT and SU to follow for a while yet, as I love those shows just as much as I do this one.

This season was only shit because like Cavin said, it was hard to write. They were in their comfort zone on Earth so moving this story to Season 9 would've meant this Season 8 would've been a cozy follow to Season 7 which was a major return to form.

Look I'll admit that CN's silent offing with no re-running and bomb scheduling didnt help the situation, but the quality dip could be reached as far as late season 4 (at least in my opinion.) You can also tell a good chunk of the staff are at that point where they're ready to move on so why not give them that leeway? Fuck, look at Owen Dennis: his pilot has like, how many views now? And I would have never expected that kind of pilot to come out of an RS boarder.

Change can be hard at first but in the end its got its own fair share of ups along with downs.

It was JG's decision and he's known he wanted to have this be the endgame since like Season 3. These aren't even the writers from around that time I think.

I know he wanted A ending but I'm not sure its this. Too many details are outright changed or contradicted from those earlier episodes. I don't know, I just doubt that Pops was meant to be The Special all along.

Basically 90% of people who watched Gravity Falls were extremely disappointed with the finale

This isn't a Gravity Falls thread so I won't get into details, but the dip in quality in season 2B in general along with a poor finale has led many people to accuse Hirsch of being a hack, that either he doesn't actually care and was ok rushing out a bad season 2B to cash in on GFs popularity or that the earlier work was a fluke and that last season is actually reflective the quality of work he is capable of

Couldn't possibly choose. It'd be easier to say which episodes I don't like. Which would be Dumped at the Altar, which was acceptable until the ending, Married and Broke which felt boring as hell and the whole ants side plot joke was cringy, and I guess there was one Eileen episode I didn't like because she was more obnoxious, but I can't remember which.

It was CJ. This was setup for a love triangle with her and Margaret, only they ended up resolving it with Mordo fucking off both girl's lives into space which was probably for the better.

Those were some damn good episodes, still personally don't like Pops thing because I loved the fact he was the nice old man character who was sorta weird and had the "back in my day" shtick, and while I knew he was from Lolliland, whether or not that'd be followed up on, it was never alluded he was their king or something.

Theory that hurts the more I think about it and listen to the song included.

Mordecai, Rigby, and the rest don't win, but they get one day to live out their dreams, have fun, and do whatever they want while "Heroes" by David Bowie plays, at the end, it the universe still resets.

How would you react? Is it plausible?

I really hope it DOESN'T just end on the characters' resetting. Having it literally come full circle is the ultimate status quo, and to do that in the finale of all things would just feel like a kick in the dick.

It would be bad in every regard aside from, if executed right, getting some feels.

The characters would never reach their goal, they wouldn't get a chance to make something of their life, everything would be pointless aside from watching older episodes for the jokes and that level of attention. Any hint that a character has dreams, or a love interest they haven't gotten yet, will be completely pointless because it's infinitely never going to happen.

Even resetting during the finale and getting back up to this moment to try for a 2nd time to stop Anti, that still wouldn't be the same characters, like how in a previous universe from The Key to The Universe showed, everyone except for Pops were at the park just doing tasks during the final fight, that shows not everything is exactly the same to a T. Our path we took throughout the show would be rendered pointless and the new one we may only get glimpses of is what wins. That'd suck just a little less than resetting and loosing forever.

The only up side is they didn't take the "Don't worry about anything, of course they'll save the day" shtick, but at the cost of the entire series being affected like that? No way.

ya finding good anime is the real challenge, I find the biggest problem is that tons of anime come out each year but there are often only a handful worth your time and it can be hard to judge the good from the bad because the otaku crowd that watches this stuff sometimes claim shitty anime is good for reasons like waifus, moe and whatever they like that I'm not willing to watch a whole show over

I hope they go all out and make it as emotional as possible. I will never get into another show like this and I will never get attached to one either. I hope it's executed well too and that they wrap up the existing issues like Benson's stressful life and whether or not if he wants to stay working in the boring old park or if he wants to be a drummer again. Same for Skips' immortality if that's not something I'm reading too deep into (it probably is). If everyone does go their own way in life at the end, I can't see Skips staying at least. I don't know where else he'd go but with everyone else gone he wouldn't be needed anymore with helping and fixing things, and while they would still consider him a friend, he'd be pretty lonely. The babies, Death, and Gary being in the finale makes me think his immortality goes away.

If that happens, first of all I'd be shocked because this is a kid's show and CN isn't as lenient as they used to be, but it'd be the most devastating thing I could think of aside from all the characters being killed (as if).

I'm also curious if Rigby marries Eileen and how Fives is doing since Mitch lives with Starla and not him anymore. I wonder if he has any aspirations they didn't focus on or that I'm forgetting. I love Fives and he deserves better to be the Mordecai to Muscle Man's Rigby tier antics and annoyance.

Reminder if Mordecai and Rigby decide to make rapping their life, Benson could be their drummer.
