>Jim Lee
TOP KEK
At least Breyfogle made it into the top 5.
>Frank Miller
>No Dodsons
Shit list.
>>89108638
When the fuck did they work in Batman?
>>89108575
>>89108595
That's not bad. I enjoy Morrison's comics but I would rank Englehart higher than Morrison. I haven't decided where I would rank Dini and Alan Grant, though.
>>89108606
I think it's funny how much people have turned on Jim Lee since the New 52 (though I get why) He used to be one of the most celebrated artists before his style just became "the default."
I remember reading in a thread here saying that Hush was "a great collection of Jim Lee artwork that some asshole wrote all over"
Why did you decide to make a thread about a poll that was years back, and was more CSBG rather than CBR?
Milligan should be placed higher imo for he wrote circles around regular Bat writers like Dixon, Starlin and Grant, during his short run.
Maybe John Wagner d serves some recognition, since the run fell hard when he stopped co writing after five issue, leaving just Grant in charge of tec.
>>89108784
His "run" was too short though.
>>89108784
>and Grant
I like Milligan too, but you really think he was better than Alan Grant?
>>89108839
So was Englehart's.
>>89108873
I do. Alan Grant's run was carried by the tone Wagner set in the beginning and Breyfogle's art. As I said, it lost its charm when Wagner left.
>>89108945
Englehart's is overrated though.
>>89108945
>As I said, it lost its charm when Wagner left.
>not liking the Ratcatcher story
I agree that Grant's writing fell into kind of a slump after Wagner left, but if you keep reading it really feels like he just needed to find his footing. Later stories like the Mud Pack and his stuff with Tim are great.
thought this list was really terrible, then I saw it was listing batman writers and artists
>Bob Kane
>Artist
Only real issue I have, everything else seems okay
>>89109131
You can just read it as "the artists that Kane took credit for"
>>89108606
I like Lee's art but I would've called bullshit if he had gotten the #1 spot. I'm still glad Breyfogle, Rogers, and Sprang made it to the Top 10 though.
>>89108595
>Englehart
WHY WON'T DC REPRINT STRANGE APPARITIONS
>>89108692
>I remember reading in a thread here saying that Hush was "a great collection of Jim Lee artwork that some asshole wrote all over"
jej I agree with this
I've read all of Lee's work and still don't like any of it but hey the art was legit
>>89109715
They need to spend resources printing special editions of Snyder's shit instead.
>4. Jim Lee
>>89108575
>19. Bob Kane
I thought we were past this
>>89108595
>Moore worse than Snyder
>Milligan worse than Snyder
fucking hell CBR
>>89110720
Moore barely wrote Batman comics and everyone turned on TKJ
>>89110760
It's too bad no one cares about his other bat work
>>89111590
You mean those two Clayface issues and literally nothing else?
>>89108575
What the fuck is Jim Lee doing at 4? Otherwise this is a bretty good list.
>>89111985
Lee basically set a standard for the 2000s onward.
>>89112428
Holy christ what an absurd vague and broad statement. In what specific ways?
>>89108575
>>89108595
That's actually a quite decent list.
>Frank Robbins made the writer list but not the artists list
Plebes
>>89108575
It's weird seeing Mignola listed as a Batman artist
>>89113816
I remember pre-Hellboy Mignola when people used to SHIT on him. Cosmic Odyssey in particular was always singled out for its art.
