All I know that the sales started to drop the moment these images started to appear on the internet, I think those two things clearly are related.

/co/ is such a strange board. Thanks to all the 4chan and tumblr intermixing, I can never get a feel for the actual consensus on most books. This and Lumberjanes, I don't think I will ever know if /co/ as a whole likes or hates. Not that it affects my opinion, I just think it's odd.

I dont hate her book, because its its own entity doing cute/fun things and thankfully contained for the most part. However the entire concept of Gwenpoole herself is fucking retarded once you think about it.

The book is not bad but is not great either, it feels like its talking down to their audience and goes for your typical tumblr pandering with trans characters, sidecuts, lesbians, identity gender shit, relationships shit, etc.


Not that any of those subjects should be avoided in comics but we all know what we mean with tumblr pandering, the annoying and badly written way they always use those elements.

That's why the book is hated, but of course during storytimes/echo chambers you may think that he book is pretty beloved.

Same thing goes for Gwenpool, in the threads sad waifags keep posting ''CUTE!!!!'' hundreds of times but outside of that the book is a joke

Gweenpool is a good concept that couldn't live up to it's potential because the writing has become rather flaccid.

It's a shame, but it's the furthest thing from shocking.

Overall, I like Gwenpool, but I really didn't expect it to last more than 12-18 issues. It's a gag comic in a market that isn't particularly friendly to books that aren't IMPORTANT.

Gwenpool is basically exactly what you'd get if Marvel sat down for a big day long meeting trying to come up with the thing that I, personally, have the least interest in.

People loved the costume and concept, so they created a real "Gwenpool", but now made her a new character named Gwen Poole who was not related to Stacy.

Basically they took what was originally a gimmick cover and turned it into a new character.
