It's better than Killing Joke, that much is for certain.

Because of Sale's art and they didn't read Eye of the Beholder.

DCasuals dont know what good comics are

It was classy in the 90s compared to other stuff, accesible, self-contained and well illustrated. Put the Joker on the cover and you have a best-seller "graphic novel"

I genuinely have noidea. Sale's artwork is like a 9/10 easy but Loeb's writing is fucking abysmal. Even for Loeb. Even for GOOD Loeb. Dialogue's stilted as hell and the characters all feel like he's writing them while thumbing through their entries in an encyclopedia. It's a murder mystery where the actual fucking mystery component doesn't work. I expected a whodunnit which artfully bridged the gap from Year One's gangsters to a city of costumed freaks;one which built up the relationship between Bats, Gordon and Harvey Dent to a terrible moral tragedy. That's what the praise it received lead me to expect. The reality was a major letdown. I've read their other Bat collabs and they were all better than this one, even Dark Victory with those stupid twists and that retarded ending.

Well it's goodreads so you should take all their opinions on comics and flush them. That said I think it's at least a 7/10 comic just based on Sale's art.

>hated the art
Thanks, now I can safely disregard your opinion.
