He can possibly push them towards making a Shazam movie sooner versus later, but it was always going to be outside the DCEU, unlike the other movies (SS, WW, etc.) it's not stuck with a Snyder & Wife production contract and they are NOT EPs or have any say on the casting, etc. of the film, since it's set up at another studio.

That's what they should do with some of their other properties (LoSH, Booster and Beetle, etc.)

As long as it doesn't mean quipping every five seconds like MCU has a bad tendency to do, there's nothing wrong with lighter tone movies. The issue with Marvel movies is that they're just comedies with some CGI action pieces in the middle at this point. Broad generalization but most of their movies do fall under that category.

No one else is doing this, not even in say animation where it would be cheaper and easier to do. Marvel films by Fox and Sony have more in common with Marvel films by Disney or Marvel Studios. The Marvel Animated films done by LionsGate have more in common with the Marvel series/films/shorts done by Marvel Studios/Disney, and both of these have just as much in common with what WB has been doing with their various animated properties, be they one shots, films, series, or adaptations.

WB Animation has done the most variety in genre and style, because they have at least done some films in the format of the artist (e.g. for New Frontier, All Star Superman graphic novels, and the two adaptations from Superman/Batman's 2000s run). Marvel could easily do this but it's not an exceptional unique change in tone/style, and the only genre change is in small manners that WB Animation has done a few things in different genre manners.

No one is going to do this for a multi-million dollar movie with an expectation of multiple millions or even a billion in gross.

He's been signed up for this movie since 2007. Either they're re-signing him because his option expired or they're finally rushing something into production, but don't hold your breath. Honestly, it's just as likely they bring him in for regular meetings to make him feel like he's not being forgotten. Being able to go away and say basically nothing and get hundreds of thousands of people to listen while he talks them up probably doesn't hurt either.

WB animation has more product than marvel animation, which may be part of the reason there is more variety

We can get some of this variety in comic books, so there's little reason we can't get it on film, especially when at this point THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE and DC prints money (green lantern is an exception I suppose)
