Gennedy.

Ahsoka or Rey?

It's not even a question, Clone Wars by a mile
Watching Rebels just leaves you thinking of all that could have been, it's so toned down.

Clone Wars was pretty fucking great, but I do prefer how TCW had more world building.
>>
>>89069653

Clone wars, but then again clone wars started off pretty slow too, so it's not too late for rebels.

I feel the main problem is that the scrapped prequel republic and old republic based storylines of clone wars had a lot of potential, especially considering how good those in a similar vein were. Especially considering how they scrapped the Sith shrine under the Jedi temple episode as well.

Who knows, maybe in future seasons Rebels will take off too. I'd say they're already starting. I mean, Season 1 was so tame and limited in scope. It's really expanding now.

I loved the world building in Clone Wars. Star wars is such a great universe, space is limitless! An episode that sticks out to be ist he one with the Sister and Brother ,when Ahsoka goes evil for a bit.

The thing also is this: ObiWan, Anakin , and Ahsoka are fantastic characters. Not boring at all, a fantastic trio.

Clone Wars had the ability to tell more stories with a varied cast of characters and a more interesting setting (Clone Wars are cooler than Galactic Civil War).

Rebels is better for it's focus on a smaller story, while still weaving in important characters from around the universe.

Both are pretty good, desu. I think I like Clone Wars more, but Season 2 finale of Rebels was probably better than anything in Clone Wars.

If somebody had told either team behind them that you don't need to make a show completely retarded to appeal to kids then they might have been better.

I mean just look at that edgy reverse lightsaber grip for starters, and the white blades. These were both stupid things in The Force Unleashed and they're stupid here.

Other examples of how ridiculous both shows are:

Anakin having an apprentice
Helicopter lightsabers

What makes her more Mary Sue than Luke or Anakin? The fact that you can "cleverly" shove "Rey" into the term?
>>
>>89092063
Did Luke single-handedly beat up a mob of angry men before having an ounce of training? Did he kick Darth Vader's ass at their first showdown? Was he a jack of all trades? Fuck no.
>>
>>89092128
The first time Luke piloted an X-Wing in a very intense combat situation he used the force (something he was only just introduced to) to blow up a man-made dwarf moon battle station.
>>
>>89092176
Someone succeeding at the climax of a movie does not constitute a "Mary Sue." A character who has no faults and succeeds in everything they do, does. Rey is a Mary Sue. Luke just ultimately won when everything came to the end of the line. And at least Luke had an excuse for being a decent pilot.

HUGE difference. Or do I need to remind you all the times Luke actually failed? How many times did Rey fail? Oh that's right, never. Because she was without flaw.
>>
>>89092258
A character can have flaws without having failure. Rey also had an excuse for all her knowledge and skill. What eas Luke's excuse for pilot skill?
>>
>>89092303
Bullseying womp rats in his T-16.

Do tell what Rey's "flaws" are. Accidentally beating more experienced sword fighters?
>>
>>89092353
So shooting rodents will make me a space pilot, nice. Mind, a better space pilot than some of the more trained rebels.
Also, can you tell me where you found the combat experience of the characters to know who's more experienced?
As for her flaws, she was scared and doubtful of what she could do. Sure, it's nothing major, but at least she didn't just fearlessly kick ass. She's a survivor and she had to push down her natural fight-or-flight and choose to fight.

This is a T-16. So yes, being a marksman in a flying craft and flying through canyons on Tatooine does give him quite a bit of practice at the exact thing he did at the Death Star. Go figure.

>Also, can you tell me where you found the combat experience of the characters to know who's more experienced?
She lives in a shithole gathering scrap. What about that gives her fighting experience? Overpowering groups of men without breaking a sweat I suppose? Maybe always winning fights is just a personality quirk. What great writing.

So in this cutthroat environment, are we supposed to just believe offscreen she lost fights until she had the experience to win? They didn't do a very good job of communicating that she clawed her way to the top to moviegoers, that's for sure.

Ultimately, that's the big issue here. We don't see Rey have setbacks. She just wins. And that's why people are perfectly validated calling her a Mary Sue. None of the other heroes in the series suffer from this. Except maybe child Anakin's unbelievable little stunt where he accidentally destroyed an entire Droid command ship. That's bad writing too.

I wish people would make some good shit from this episode.

A properly functioning saber doesn't throw off heat
>>
>>89093238
even in the case of child Anakin, we already knew that he will eventually fail.
>>
>>89093173
I just got to this episode. Daaamnnn
>>
>>89095032
Also he started the movie as an actual slave, which isn't a very flattering status.
>>
>>89074996
Not plausible the hot air would just dissipate into the atmosphere and there is nothing to contain/concentrate it. Also the lightsaber isn't actually attached for a hot air baloon thingamajig to take effect.
>>
>>89075844
Considering the show visually shown a ship in space sink like its in water, its better to conclude that the saber flight is just pure cartoon bullshit.
>>
>>89088247
Any Knight can have an apprentice, what's your point?
>>
>>89095478
That's due to systems malfunctioning, in episode 3 when they droid ship does that, they reroute the energy and it stops
>>
>>89089440
>spin it to win it
>one legged three saber stance

Nigga it's stupid
>>
>>89095854
Bullshit. The bow pointed down and sank in the weightlessness of space. Some people who work simply dose not care for shit like that.
>>
>>89095979
Literally just watch the start of the movie
>>
>>89093173
Which episode is this?
>>
>>89092063
How about we start with the fact that Luke and Anakin trained with experienced force users for extended periods of time before demonstrating the mind trick, while Rey pulls it out of her ass a half hour after learning the force is real.

6/10 made me reply.
>>
>>89096991
She was learning it before she was left on Jakku as a child. :^)

Nigga i was talking about an episode of Rebels not the battle of Corousant.
>>

Which episode?
>>
>>89097811
check'd, but it should still apply, unless I'm mistaken, the technology of Star Wars has been largely the same for well over 10,000 years

No its not, at least not on EU. 10,000BBY there were still forests in Corousant and everyone still used ballistic weaponry.

Damn, stuff like this really makes me want to study the history of the Star Wars universe. How primitive do things get?
>>
>>89069664
>who's better, Han Solo or Jar Jar Binks?
>>
If Rey was just a really good hand to hand fighter, then fine. But despite being a dirt-poor scavenger, where getting a meal is a fucking challenge, she somehow can fucking pilot ships? And pilot the falcon to boot? and even though Luke uses the force to torpedo the death star, it wasn't deliberate and was using in a very abstract way; whereas a Jedi mind trick is very deliberate and requires training. Plus, EVERYONE fucking loves her. Finn has a crush, Solo and Chdwbacca befriends her, Maz knows her past or whatever, Kylo wants to train her as his apprentice IMEDIATELY. Shit, Han didn't even start warming up to Luke until after they battled their way together out of the Death Star.

Definition of a Mary Sue.
>>
>>89099326
>she somehow can fucking pilot ships?
It's not hard to imagine that these junk collectors sometimes need somebody to transport their crap around the planet. The ability to pilot isn't really one of her mary sue features.

Season 4 of Clone wars is way better than Season 3 rebels.

Well in the Great Sith war the majority of the Siith used melee weapons in great numbers so did the Republic, Starships were no better than armed transports. The modern lightsaber was developed by the Sith but was shunned for Sith Swords while the jedi still used proto sabers with battery packs. Corousant Architecture looked cyberpunk Mayan pyramids.

Earlier than that Hyperspace travel was more like "hope we don't die travel" due to the lack of established hyperlanes. And a bit farther back pre-republic, the Tau'ng lost the war against the Humans for their mutual homeplanet Corousant. After that Humans set out sleeper-cryo ships into space. Thats why there are a lot of Humans Near-humans in the Galaxy. Then colony by colony discovered Rakatan tech that allowed to space-fare better with the Hyperdrive. Those Colonies got into contact centuries later and established the republic.

The Tau'ng would later become the Mandalorians and wreck all kinds of shit and would invade and assimilate many worlds, the assimilated populace in time identied with Mandalorian culture.

Stopped watching Clone Wars a long time ago, family kept up with Rebels. I was told Ashoka died and stayed dead, is this true?

To be fair, Rey could be considered a sort of slave because of her Junker status. Having to scrap together scraps for a meager meal.
Almost metaphorical to the average human.

Coruscant is the human homeworld of the Star Wars universe? I mean, it makes sense being the capital and all, I just guess I never knew that.

I also didn't realize Mandalorians aren't truly human.
