Would you rather read a comic with shit writing but good art or a comic with good writing but shit art?
>>89065056
I'm blind so I'd prefer the good writing.
>>89065056
Basically DC movies and Marvel movies
>>89065056
The second one by far. I read for the story. Morrison's JLA is amazing, but the art is horrid. Same deal for that Kingpin mini that came out last year.
>>89065056
good comic with shit art
I would rather read Gillen's Uncanny X Men drawn by Land, than the last Civil War event written by Bendis but with nice art.
>>89065056
I'm an artfag so the first one.
Most comic writing is pretty mediocre anyway
>>89065056
I would rather take a 3rd option, since it actually exists in the real world.
>>89065056
Story over art
It's easy to overlook shit art if the story is fun, just like reading a book
It's harder to overlook shit story, even if the colors are pretty
>>89065091
>good writing
>applicable to either of those
>>89065056
Good writing is rarer than good art so definitely the one with good writing
Also dumb frog poster
Shit art.
I prefer Mob Psycho to Civil War II.
if it was good writing wouldn't it be just a novel?
>>89065271
Good writing/artwork but always late
or
"Okay" writing/artwork but always on-schedule
>>89065430
Why do you think the term graphic novel exist
I'd rather read a comic with good story and shit art, but if I'm gonna be honest - waaay more likely I'll start reading something with good art. I'm sure there are tons of gems I just passed over because they weren't immediately appealing to my eye
>>89065440
Well played
>>89065056
I would rather read neither of those.
>>89065056
Good writing but shit art. I can look at good art in screencaps on the internet, but if I don't care about the story then there's no reason for me to read the book.
"Good writing can save bad art, but good art can't save bad writing"

Unless it's porn
>>89065813
>He doesn't jerk it to erotica fiction
>>89065056
good art with no writing
I need both to be at leadt adequate or I am out.
>>89065432
Or old with good artwork and solid stories. There is a liftimes worth of readingbthat fits that category.
>>89065056
GW + GA
Good writing, shit art. The writing needs to be really good though.
I'll be honest, if a comic has amazing art and mediocre writing I'll still follow it. However, if a comic has mediocre art and mediocre writing, I'll just drop it instantly.
I already read plenty of webcomics that have shitty art, so the latter. Unless I'm fapping to it, and even then I can only take so much shitty writing before I decide to just forget about it.

Good writing, bad art if it's a shared universe superhero comic book.
Bad writing, good art if it's a stand alone story.
>>89065800
this desu
>>89065056
Good writing. Tails Gets Trolled and One Punch Man beats Bendis writing with Curt Swan art.
As I am on /co/ board instead of /a/, it looks like I would rather read comic with good writing but shit art.
I would say good writing is more important than good art but art certainly helps.
I can't help but feel the Darth Vader comic would be improved tenfold if the art wasn't traced bullshit. The writing is good but the art is hideous.
>>89065093
>Morrison's JLA is amazing, but the art is horrid
There is absolutely nothing wrong with 90's Howard Porter.
>>89065072
Does your computer screen have brail or something?
>>89067678
Text to speech?
>all these writerfags in a primarily visual medium
stop reading superheroes and start reading stuff with good artists
>>89065056
you ever watched a porno and stopped masturbaiting because the story is really good?
>>89065404
>I prefer Mob Psycho
>he think One is a bad artist.
>>89067794
Yes
I call it a boner of the heart
>>89065056
You might as well be reading a book and using your own imagination for the latter choice.
>>89067917
thats basicly it
>>89067906
I sometimes think One is better than he's letting on.
Good story. Sandman had shitty art for a few arcs but it was still brilliant.
Those two end up being the same in the end
Comics are a visual medium, so good art and shit writing easily. Anyone that says otherwise is a pleb
Good plotting > good art
>>89065056
Comics are a visual media, so the art should be pretty important, but at the end of the day a comic book is about a story being told and that's what the writing provides. So ultimately I'd take good writing and shit art.
People might say the second, but they all mean the first.
>>89065093
Always thought the same thing, although the inker was part of the problem too
