What is /co/'s thoughts on Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi?
I was literally obsessed with this show when it was on and it's very special to me.
Feh.
That is all.
5/10
it was ok
>>89061332
Ami & Yumi made my dick jump and that's about it.
>this thread
where did you go for so long OP?
>>89061332
I'd rather Hi Hi Puffy Vulva was on during their time slot.
I was obsessed with it too. I think it made me a little weebier. Also I still listen to Puffy sometimes.
>>89061332
I had a crush on the pink haired chick as a kid. Other than that, it was a pretty meh show.
The weeaboo thing was moronic but didn't significantly affect the show. It's an OK comedy cartoon but not really remarkable. Occasionally highlights like the episode with no spoken dialogue.

Here's a good question
Why was this series cancelled?
One of Benthelooney's friends looked up the ratings and told him that the series was getting the second highest ratings on Cartoon Network behind Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends in Cartoon Network's 6-11 demographic. But then suddenly in 2006, Cartoon Network suddenly stopped caring about the show.
>>89061610
Another highlight was the Yu-Gi-Oh parody episode, where Ami and Yumi play a game of Stu-Pi-Doh in order to win King Chad
>>89062090
Nothing that Cartoon Network does makes sense my man.
>>89061332
It was better than most animes
And I mean it
I barely remember anything it coming around the same time as Teen Titans.
>>89062961
anything except it*
>>89062788
Agreed
They even cancelled Megas XLR. Even though the show had a lot of people who really liked it, they still cancelled it after only 2 seasons.
>>89061332
where the fuck is the porn? why not post this thread in >>>/trash/ ?
>>89061332
Good for you anon.
I enjoy how bizzarre everything surrounding this cartoon is.
It's astounding how the only 100% american (yes, even animation) cartoon on an american network is the one based entirely on two foreign musicians.
regarding the ton itself, it was nice but not great.
still a gulty pleasure of mine.
>>89064072
>two foreign musicians
Two has-been foreign musicians.
Didn't this entire series happen because some CEO at Cartoon Network was being a weeaboo fanboy over this band?
>>89064094
>has been
now sure, but when the Cartoon aired those two were pretty famous.
if someone's actually interested, they still do music, but mostly singles.
>>89064119
as far as I know, that fanboy was Sam Register (he's credited as the creator)
... and now he's the CEO of WB animation division.
>>89064135
i want to fug them

Apparently something happened and Cartoon Network shut it down FAST. Nothing about the show could be found on the network's website and the last season didn't finish airing in America. They didn't even acknowledge it's existence again until a year or two ago.
>>89064727
It is very weird how Cartoon Network would cancel a very popular show that was getting some of the biggest ratings for them at the time, next to Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.
Whatever did happen is pretty sad. I vividly remember being sad that I couldn't find it anywhere on Cartoon Network and I was thinking about the show everyday.
True story
>>89064727
its prolly because it was too sexy
>>89061432
>>89062090
I know the Japanese music industry goes through idols like a chain smoker, so my guess is that the real Puffy AmiYumi fell out of relevance in Japan.
cute designs, god awful writing
from memory
>>89061332
It was ok. Watchable at least, compared to most of the trash /co/ obsesses over.
>>89066236
That is really sad if that is true :(
I would a fat Yumi

Sam likes Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi
YEH
Bump
I only remember it because it had so many outlandish plots yet at the same time had so many standard cartoon cliches played straight without a hint of irony. It's like they wanted to be anime but were afraid to commit to it
What do you think of the 3D Ami and Yumi?
>>89068368
3D Yumi's got that sexhair

>>89061332
Ami and Yumi weren't very puffy.
I own a copy of their CD
>>89061332
Wasn't one of them married to T.M. Revolution and got divorced cause she cheated on him?
>>89073167
Yumi, the divorce happened 15 years ago.
the show wasnt that bad or anything but the only episode i ever remember really liking was the cheeseburger one.
I like episides that make me hungry..
>>89061332
I miss them
