I am 26 years old. I started reading Ultimate Spider-man when I was in the sixth grade all the way up to Freshman year in University. It was, and I repeat, always this slow paced.

Anyone saying otherwise is being a history revisionist OR (the most likely options) marathoned it all at once post 2010. You don't really notice its jarring pace in long sessions where the comic is right in front of you, but let me tell you, I felt it with every release but I stuck in there because Ultimate felt good (until Ultimatum, God bless our souls).


Today's issue was pretty good, and I can't say that I dislike the older woman angle. It checks my boxes. My ex was 31 years old.

Anon, crazier things have happened. Mephisto stole Peter Parker's marriage. Why the fuck would, basically, the Marvel U's devil care about some random schmuck's marriage?

Answer: Its a comic book.

My point being: Cloak and Dagger were already acting out of character because of plot stuff. So having the romantic element added in suddenly seems to be tied to the new characterizations of the character caused by the inversion. It was not something they had previous to that plot point.
