This is the end of the flashback story and new origin. Next issue is the end of the current story going on in the present, and it does seem likely that whatever Ares did or saw when he put his hand in Diana's skull will be relevant to her screwed up memories and inability to return to Themescara.

It's a dumbed down, poorly written version of post-Crisis Wonder Woman, mainly Perez and Jimenez

This issue shows it all. While Perez' origin arc was an epic, this had WW bumbling around until Ares showed up in the last issue, got attacked by wild animals and vaporized.

What a twist!

The biggest problem about this run is that it's all just fluff.

Rucka's initial run had Wonder Woman has her clashing against the greater DCU and a political intrigue going in the background.

Rucka could have explored things like the US seeing Wonder Woman as someone they could exploit and Themyscera as a new goldmine they can explore, with Steve Trevor being torn between following his country's demands in getting closer to Wonder Woman to convince her to be the US's puppet or following his feelings and side with Wonder Woman against his country.

That would be something interesting to explore in the new origin, but instead everything is cute and the military just want to help Wonder Woman out of the good of their heart.

I'd really like for him to be kinda more like Mars, but talked up by the other Gods to be the wild, savage Ares. Like fucker went nuts after Antiope and just disavows Hippolyta, but then mellows. I feel like he's under utilized as just a cackling villain. Make him something more. I liked Azz's Ares a bit because he wasn't just war and chaos. I'd like if they would make him an outsider of the Pantheon along with Hades. Not a villain, but antagonistic to his father. Zeus and Ares don't like each other and Ares killed Poseidens son after he raped one of Ares children. It's just boring to see Hades and Ares be villain.

Hades has literally just done his fucking job since day one. Have Diana come at them with bias and have her realize that they aren't evil. Have her first arc not just be new world interesting.

The only Wonder Woman I've read is Earth One, so how does them seem so dull and unoriginal and feel like a rehash I've read countless times already?

Really annoys me Rucka hasnt even bothered teasing WW's brother in his story at all. At least most of the other Rebirth mystery's besides that have been getting teased.
