Why didn't Bluto just eat spinach too?

He felt he was above that. I mean fuck, look at him. He can pulverize Popeye any day without the need for spinach, and only loses when Popeye does use said spinach. He at least gets to go to bed every night knowing he isn't some steroid using junkie.

Some fights Bluto was stronger, and in others Bluto just does some underhanded shit, but most of the time Popeye could take him toe to toe, only employing the spinach when Bluto did some dirty shit to tip the scales or employed some help
