It's a classic marketing trick designed to get the fans to spread the awareness of the show instead of having to spend money to do it themselves. My point was that Star vs. as a show doesn't really do bait and switch episodes. The only example where serious shit has gone down but the episode title wasn't about the main point that I can recall off the top of my head is Bon Bon. However before that, most of the time the episode titles have pretty accurately addressed something that's at the core of the episode.

Therefore, insisting that "most if not all" of the titles will be misleading bait-and-switch is just fucking wishful thinking. A combo of

is gonna be a somewhat wild ride. It's clear the mid-season upped the stakes, and the itunes spoiler hints that Star will be "distraught" while trying to get Glossaryck back.
It's a serious situation that'll take some episodes to solve, and in general the show has had this feeling of the stakes getting higher, shit getting realer and the lore intensifying as we advance in the seasons. Magic running out of the universe and Ludo's wand and Eclipsa's introduction and the wand acting up and everything.

Just going "lol we solved that shit in 3 10 min eps and will go back to the quirky ayylmao jokes now, here comes a school play arc" is unlikely, especially seeing how both Giancarlo Volpe and Brian H Kim have been hyping up the "Face the Music" and "Starcrushed" episodes.

It's not gonna be good for Star. She was sent to Earth to mature up and learn to handle the responsibility of being Queen. Just look at what Moon had to go through, and how the weight of the crown made her. It's not easy. It cannot keep being as easy as it's been so far. She's got some serious growing up to do, and that ride is starting.

I'd respect it. If well-made on the storytelling and dramatic levels, I'd be intellectually dishonest not to.

But I don't think I'd like it, not nearly as much as Starco. One reason is that it would be like, oh, taking a big gulp of hot chocolate and getting coffee - not bad itself, except not the taste I was expecting.

Another is that a not-insignificant factor in the show's appeal to me is that it looks like it could be, in part, a sort of love letter from Daron to her husband, which would make it super-cute. I mean, Gravity Falls only really caught my interest when I found out that Alex Hirsch had a twin sister, and suddenly there was a new dimension of sweetness to what I was peripherally aware of before. (Let's set aside how that one turned out.) If that ISN'T where Star Vs. is going; if there isn't supposed to be any inspired-by-a-true-story sweetness inside, that's totally legitimate, but I'd be a bit disappointed.

No. I really like Tom as a character, and for his character development I'd want to see him grow stronger as a person and also get a gf who'd actually be compatible with him, understanding, supportive, all that. I think he has good friend dynamic but shit romantic dynamic with Star, based on how their interactions went in the BMB and how she didn't give a shit about his wishes and he wasn't able to deal with her bubbly bluntness.

Bringing them back together is slightly shit writing and sort of resets Tom's character growth back to zero, it's better if he finds that the goal he's been pursuing isn't worth it and learns to accept that things end and lets go
