Pretty bland character, her droids get much more screen time and have some personality. She's just Vader's bitch. She's so bland you can't even tell she's good or evil or what she actually wants

I am a Marvel Star Wars fanatic, and I'm less sure I like Aphra now than I did when Vader ended.

She seems a little different in her solo title. It's strange because Gillen is still writing her, but something is a little off. I'll give it a few more issues to get going.

I think I can get it, she seems a little more...nice, not as nasty as in Vader but that comes naturally to her. I think she'll most likely kill her dad when the times comes for it, if he gets in her way or refuses to let her have whatever artefact they find on Yavin.

Aphra does have it's strong points, Kev Walker art for one, and it can raise a chuckle once or twice. Without paying for it I'd say take a look at least. And the Darth Vader books, definitely

It would've made more sense for her to die at the end of the Valder book, narratively.
Or at least be written off as dead only to reappear some time in the future. I'm currently not reading her solo, but I still don't understand why the Vader title had to end because Gillen felt that story was over, only for him to write Aphra again. Why wasn't her story over too?

Further up in the thread it's mentioned you can only do so much with Vader and whatnot during the time between movies, due to having to squeeze in the events of the films.

Arguably what Gillen looks to be doing is trying to keep the same sort of narrative by exploring the universe in the Empire days with a more amoral character, except instead of it being Vader it's Aphra.

Which makes more sense if you ask me as Aphra's markedly more vulnerable than vader is.
