So I've been thinking of the lore (or lack thereof) of RWBY.
Since it's clear that M/K aren't going to naturally write in lore or worldbuilding into the main series, what alternatives to WoR are there?
All I can think of so far is just some kind of RWBY Encyclopedia, which could have detailed histories of the Kingdoms, Great War, etc.

Like the Blake is just an SJW shitposting that's pretty much just a way to easily identify when people are being retards for the sake of being retards.

Jaune does not even remotely fit the everyman archetype.

Jaune is, despite all his flaws and the bad writing surrounding him, a pretty proactive character in terms of his involvement into the story with wildly massive and odd dreams and quirks.

Everything that's happened to Jaune has kind of been his own fault. He choose to forge his way into Beacon, he chose to pursue Weiss, go with Ruby, talk shit back to Qrow. He's gotten real lucky and Pyrrha deciding to save him was a chance of fate but he also in a way was also responsible for that because he went up to Weiss and Pyrrha and talked to both of them.

The everyman character is noticeable for how bland they are. These are characters that it's difficult to determine what exactly makes them individuals because even beyond not having a personality, they don't dream or really have ambitions beyond what a normal boring person would have because you have to walk a thin line to keep the fantasy of relatability alive. It's why these characters always happen to have stuff happen to them by luck or fate rather than them doing catastrophically stupid or brave.

Okay I'm writing a comedy oneshot. It's about RWBY Vs JNPR in a snowball fight.

I want Nora to "cheat" a bit. She uses Magnhild in its grenade form. She can't use live grenades, so she tries something else instead.

Should she open up her grenades, take out the pink explosive dust, and fill them with icy snow. The primer would be left intact. Should the top be screwed back on, or leave the grenade open? The idea is that the frozen snow grenades will hit the enemies much harder and more accurately than a regular snowball.

Or, should she just fill the cylinder with icy snow? And let her be able to launch the "grenades" even though it's just snow and they don't have any primers?

I know it's RWBY and comedy, but I would like to try and stay at least a little bit close to realism, because I shall describe how Nora creates her new grenades.

So far the main part of their backstory is that they were the only person on their team to survive a Grimm encounter. The other last member dying in their arms at the front door of the hospital.

Back when V3 ended I kicked around ideas for a post-V3 story, but never did anything with beyond ideas. I had a Winter Maiden who was a lazy asshole and resented the fact that she was a Maiden and wanted nothing to do with the job, and I actually gave Salem several underlings.

I'm actually really happy that Salem's group shittalking Cinder was an actual thing, because that's what my villain OCs did.
