Nope, National Amusements, the company that owns both CBS and Viacom, is controlled solely by the Redstone family.

NA asked Vi and CBS to consider merging but the two of them quite literally ignored it and instead the only thing they did was work on making each other as independent as possible. So National Amusements scrapped the deal because if they forced the merger, both sides would have been unhappy.

Plus, Viacom has a pretty good CEO that has been making steps in the right direction for the company. He's better than Dauman, who was a terrible CEO.
