I dunno about that. I still think they'll use Mar-Vell at least as a supporting character in Carol's movie and many times the supporting characters get more love than the main characters. Just look at the reception for Loki compared to Thor or Bucky compared to Cap.

This is my biggest problem with the MCU.

Take Captain Marvel for example.

If they /were/ to introduce him, Marvel would bring him back in the comics to support the movie, defeating the point of his death.

If they weren't to use him, Marvel would actively try to hide his existence in all other forms of media or what ifs- since Carol would be the new status quo.

If there's a change to him in the movie, they'd retcon him in the comic.

Warlock-Thanos is different, because Warlock is probably the closest thing Thanos has to a real friend. Mar-Vell, on the other hand, is one of his most valued enemies, to the point where he tends to not respect his successors, to the point where in Infinity Gauntlet, he sees his successor as Guardian of the Universe, Quasar, he IMMEDIATELY blows up his arms.

I kinda got a huge "undying respect" vibe from Thanos for him. When you considerAdam's implications of "every time you fail, you do so on purpose because you don't think you deserve power" it puts Mar-vell into a different light.

Not only did Thanos feel only he and Adam were worthy to defeat him, it seems he also felt Mar-Vell was worthy of the power he'd gained, since if I rememebr right Mar-vell was the guy who got the cube from him.
