>>88948864
How is everyone doing tonight?
>>88948864
Nothing about this cover fills me with confidence
>>88949181
I haven't read it, I assume it's like Fighting Foodons

More twee garbage.
There's this strain of writing that's become popular in comics lately that is meant to be 'all ages' but just comes of as infantile. Writing better suited for a six year old picture book. This is one of those books.
They call them 'cute' but they're just mind numbing pap.
This is the book that won Oni Press' open submission call isn't it?
>>88949476
I couldn't tell you off hand but let me check.
The art is okay, but the book seems pretty bad overall.
Thanks for the storytime, but I'm out
>>88949488
Yep it looks like it
>>88949478
> I don't like Westerns
> then goes on a rant where he shows he fundamentally misunderstands the Western genre of the past fifty years
John Wayne hasn't been relevant since the 50s and most people asked today would say Clint Eastwood is the definitive Western hero. The Man With No Name killed the Western he's going on about, and the genre has settled itself on being all about grey morality and the lack of a clear good and evil.
An editor, least of all a senior editor, that advertises their ignorance like that shouldn't have that position. Maybe he should watch/read more Westerns that came out after 'in technicolor!' was something worth advertising.
>>88949503
>Yep it looks like it
That's depressing.
>>88949417
Most fall into the trap that "all ages" is about producing something that no group finds offensive. It seems so easy because it's about not doing something.
"All ages" is actually the hardest audience to write for, because you need to have something for everyone. So we end up with far more Cucumber Quests than Avatars.
>>88949159
Subversive lesbians, everyone
>>88949210
>too many cooks
>>88949709
>>88948890
Tonight? Great. I'm questionable on your storytime, yet, you never let me down thus far, so I am strangely excited to read SBL.
>>88949754
Oh I've made bad choices before sorry if it's bad.
All that can be really said for it is that the premise is different from the usual sci-fi stuff, for a print comic. It's nothing remarkable if taken as part of the webcomic set.
Thanks Dan
>>88949936
No need to thank me, I just post other people's work on 4chan.
for what its worth, its a cute, harmless, decent read so far.Though I keep imagining melonhead`s voice as Lord Stingray from Superjail.
>>88949976
>harmless
God damn I'm sick of 'all ages' books that are harmless.
Thanks for reading guys!
Thanks for the story time
Are there lewds?
>>88950141
Couldn't tell you, /aco/ would be the place to go.
>>88950106
It was okay. Thanks, Dan!
>>88949440
I think I'd prefer to read a comic about Cannibal Coliseum.
>>88949533
I want to fuck that melon.
>>88948864
Out of everything they could have picked, Oni doubles down on quirky calarts entry 4474556
Where the fuck is the next Emily Carroll going to come from if the "industry" rolls out the same shit constantly.
>>88948864
Is this comic an embodiment of Tumblr?
>>88949392
I feel like the judging portion of every cooking show starts with that sentence
>>88949591
is this melon person gonna do nothing but meat dishes? hes like that guy in video games that only knows one move
>>88949619
Shouldn't be honestly, this person came from 4chan. i remember them posting this idea on the threads, everyone told them to go for it. honestly better than the majority of generic super power related stuff they must have gotten.
>>88950106
Thanks dan! want bad wasnt all that great, seems more like a webcomic read not something id actually buy.
Thanks for the story Dan it wasnt so bad and Neptunia is a QT.
>>88949392
>lizard planet
Seriously there weren't any more creative names for a planet?
>>88949654
Ok i didn't expect notfinn loosing so early.
>>88949964
Literally one-eyed Finn with a cape.
>>88950041
Crustaceans aren't bugs.
>>88952081
>next Emily Carroll
You mean, the same kind of a talentless hack you talk about?
this looks like it was made by someone with literally zero life experience
>>88948864
I met the chick who wrote this last FCBD.
Seemed like a super nice chick.
I bought a signed copy of issue 1, which each one she signed with a different doodle.
Here's to her going places in this industry.
>>88948890
It finally got freezing levels of cold last night where I live (Texas).
I legit got excited after putting a cup of water outside starting to freeze.
But I sleep with my windows open, so around 7am I woke up to feeling like my toes were bout to catch frostbite under my blanket.
I don't like the designs, particularly peony, who looks dumbing of age, and edgelord girl. But overall, it's blah webcomic teir. Maybe Cannibal planet can make things interesting.
>>88949964
Nowhere in the universe can you have too much butter.
>>88954076
Mud bugs.
>>88950060
Adorable.
>>88952809
This person never came to 4chan. You've conflated several different people and events in your head.
So does anyone know when the other open submission comics are coming out?
