Nova and USAvengers are probably the best thing to come out of Marvel NOW(er) so far. Ghost Rider has been good, but the comic focuses too much on setting up Circle of Four 2.0 when Robbie's daily life is infinitely more interesting then ANOTHER legacy hero team. Hulk is also way better then I expected, but Mosiac, Venom, and Wasp have been the weakest of the new NOW(er) books.

Here's to hoping Marvel can mange to not be shit this 2017.

Those are the least of the problems with that story. I seriously have no idea how anyone ever praised it and I remember multiple glowing reviews. Even leaving aside the "not muh" Bendis decided to a direct sequel to a previous story, couldn't get any of the details right, and then on top of that still failed to produce a sensible explanation or rationale for why it was so secretive (remember glare.jpg?). The entire emotional crux of the arc falls totally flat and doesn't even make sense!.

Even if we take the retcons as fact and assume that only Thanos, Rich, and Pete went into the Cancerverse, Gamora was still presumably there and knew about it, she aludes to being there when Drax died and Rich and Pete were surprised to see him. She must have known both Pete and Rich went in facing certain death, so what the fuck did Rich think keeping his death a secret was going to do for her? You're not coming back with them you fucking dipshit, it's obvious that you fucking died! Why can't Quill just tell her you died a fucking hero?! It makes every single character involved in the emotional arc look like a complete fucking retard even if you didn't read Thanos Imperative.

Those 3 issues encapsulate literally everything that's wrong with Bendis' GOTG: A decent idea, squandered by terrible writing, and complete disregard for continuity and storytelling even within a single story. And as per usual, the only saving grace is the fucking art.

I don't know what the problem is. Little bits of other universes get trapped in 616 all the time. Galactus is from outside the universe. The Cancerverse is only threatening if it is still life without end, fully intent on killing death in our universe. Otherwise they are just another curiosity, like Anihilus.

He just escaped from a horrible Eldritch horror universe and from the looks of it he has some major PTSD, probably had a fucking mini Vietnam flashback except he managed to hold himself together.

You can also see the panel when Sam shows him the Nova helmets that he also gets quiet and just stares at nothing, or the part where the Champions start asking him too many questions (before he sees them as corpses and bolts out) they start crowding him and you can see how uncomfortable he gets.

He's fucked up and he's been fucked up all the way back from the Annihilation War, and if you read his previous comics before that you'll find out he also has a history of depression and at some point he also risked killing himself to get his powers back (and wrote a suicide note in case he didn't get his powers and actually did die).

You can also argue after closing that tear he probably thought that was the end of it, but IMO I just think he didn't want to talk to Sam about the Cancerverse.

But we won't know what's up with the Cancerverse creatures until Loveness and Perez get there.

The only thing we know is that the Many Angled Ones are after Rich, Sam noticed it too.

Rich never tried to jump off a building to activate his powers. Night Thrasher THREW him off the building because he thought that the powers Rich had given up on were dormant and just needed a strong trigger.

Eh, I'm not sure making it Cancerverse Peter is the best option. Just have his changes be to hide his trauma.

So decides to become hero with no-killing rule instead. No killing rule almost causes him to let genocide happen multiple times, so maybe sacrificing one bad person for many innocent lives isn't that bad. He is then forced to take this to an extreme against the Fallen One sacrificing 35,000 innocent Kree lives to save billions. He can't live with himself so he turns himself in. While he's imprisoned the Annihilation Wave happens, and he blames himself for not preventing it. Tries to get back into the world, prevent further destruction and make up for his Kree sacrifice by rebuilding Hala's defense system, instead allows the Phalanx to infiltrate and wreak even more havoc. Trying to do good he instead gets in a fight because he made Mantis nudge others to join his team. Eventually he ends up fighting more things way out of his league and ends up in the Cancerverse where his good friend Richard, basically the only living earth human who went through similar big cosmic stuff and the one who went with him all the way through the Annihilation Wave etc., is killed, while he himself gets out. After all of this Peter is filled with so much guilt and doesn't really have anyone to talk to who REALLY gets him (and his dad turned out to be a major asshole as well), that he just masks his feelings with silly, seemingly carefree behavior, a less than serious relationship with Kitty, spends more time back on earth. (He even dyed his hair Ramona Flowers style to start a new part of his life). Whatever he does, it never works out how he wants. And now that Rich is back, he can no longer hide how he feels.
