They did get married at the end of season 2 but the show sort of acted like it never happened afterwards. Maybe because Saito technically died and was resurrected after the wedding and he lost the runes connecting him to Louise so maybe it also canceled the wedding vows too? They never really explained it but they did get married for realsies at the end of season 4.

The show reminds me of SVFOE in some ways, even physically Marco and Saito look a little alike, darker skin and dark messy hair, both are mortal humans who turn out to be proficient fighters, their names both end in o. Star and Louise are both nobility/royalty, Star and Louise's dad both have blonde beards with pointy mustaches, Star and Louise are both flat and get jealous of thick girls who pursue Marco/Saito, Star and Louise both have magic wands, both series were created by women, etc. I wonder if Nefcy's seen Familiar of Zero.

Star is jealous but she does not hurt him (most of the time, I remember Narwhal Blast on Marco or her shooting him with her wand in Sleepover) because of her jealous intentionally. Also, by the look of things, Star looks like a complete pushover wallowing over her own misery that she lost the Marcobowl, unlike Louise who actually slaps the Queen for trying to fuck Saito.

It'd be slightly shit writing to set things that early in stone shipping-wise; every romance feels sweeter if there's genuine threat that it won't happen, and slapping in a "meant to be together, souls bound for eternity" deus ex machina plot device in the middle of season 1, before they've even become romantic, is narratively shit writing.

Also, blood moons traditionally haven't been omens for pleasant things, (on the contrary, it's considered an omen of the apocalypse) and a blood moon setting a demon bind on someone is kind of a weird choice for something that's supposed to be just positive.

So my guess is that something is up with the blood moon bind and it'll turn out to have a sinister aspect to it.
