What is your opinion on Civil War?

At first they made one side seem too reasonable compared to the other.

To make things more morally grey, they made them both unreasonable.

If you try to bring up these realities in a superhero story, your story falls apart, because superhero stories only work when you ignore those.

It's overrated to the roof. Among some communities this event is revered as one of the best Marvel stories ever told. But in reality? It just got it's fame thanks to the hero-vs-hero novelty and publishing's history not being as oversaturated with "BIG UNIVERSE-CHANGING MEGA EPICS" as it's today.

Seriously, a lot of heroes in this book seem to act out of character and the whole conflict, it's escalation and the way heroes decide to deal with it is retarded.

It was fucking dumb.Hill trying to arrest cap before the law came to pass.Caps battle strategy being noghing more than let's hit them till it solves are problems then being shocked when violence leads to some property damage.Tony,reed and hank going from "Gee what a shame that clor killed that do lister we feel bad" to "now send the villians to arrest our friends",Spidey being so willing to reveal his identity then betray tony for becoming to violent instead of you know working with him.Unfortunately this stupidity became marvels winning formula to events like AvX,axis,CW2 and now IvX with having characters act stupid and ignore there powers/history/intelligence just for the sake of a conflict to drum up sales.

It's a good premise. It basically allowed Marvel to have its cake and eat it too, doing a big dumb crowd-pleasing story (heroes fighting each other) while being "relevant."

Unfortunately Marvel has been trying to copy this formula almost every year since then, culminating in the stupidity of Civil War II. What made Civil War a good premise is it took a pre-existing idea (superhero registration) and a pre-existing conflict (Cap vs. Iron Man stories had been done before). Almost every other premise has seemed forced except maybe Secret Invasion.
